Morning from South Texas
Mate I would have added another box and shifted 4 frames above an excluder. to make more room for her highness. I would also place my new frames every other frame in the brood box to open it up.
Evening from the Beekeepers in Cape Town , South Africa. Southern Hemisphere having hot weather hey...
A monster hive, how come you dont add a super on ?
That's a great looking colony of bee's. They sure ready for some extra room. ❤🐝🐝
8-10 inches of snow in NC, USA. Love being able to watch these during my winter
Great Video John and Mark, awesome fun, Happy new year in 2022, wishing you all the best results for your efforts! Stay Safe!
Nice video as usual. Cold spell here in central Texas. 77f today, 22f in morning for a few days
18 inches of snow today, looks nice and warm there.
Thanks for sharing Mark and great camera work John. Stay safe and keep up the good work 🐝🐝🐝
Getting ready to do some inspections myself thismorning. Do you check for queen cells and laid queen cups? I try to check any cups I see, when they want to swarm they usually lay them all, so if you see an egg you know they have made the decision. Easy enough to do an artificial swarm, which is a type of split but prevents swarming, but if you are a hobbyist who doesn't want more colonies you just find and remove the old queen and reunite the two halves with the newspaper method. Swarm season is always fun. If your colony wants to swarm you know they are doing pretty well and they usually want to swarm at least once per year.
Was watching some of your videos, You need a 2022 new garden tiller.
Nice Mark and John, great show again. Keep the great videos and information up. Thanks TrickyTrev 👍🐝🍯
Wow what a great looking colony of bee . I would they were very close to swarming so maybe the super will help with that . I have a question for you John an also mark . Where on your body have you been stung that you think is the most painful to you too ???. I think on the top of a finger right behind the finger nail . Also if any one else would like to tell there pain
Ear and nose. I got stung the other day walking by my hive. I dont think the bee even ment to sting me I think we collided and she got me. Then her friend decided she needed to get me to.
What kind of bees do you recommend in nsw Australia
Hey mate I have bin wondering how many hives did you start off with
Hi mark what company do you buy your queens from please im trying to find more gentle queens . Thanks
I went into have a look at my super last weekend and thought I would check out the brood box at the same time... the ladies didn't like that at all. Any tips for this girl from Whyalla South Australia, your home state?
I'm new to bee keeping. Can anyone tell me if I should have a 'ceiling' on top of my frames in the brood box? I see here he had a bee 'mat'. I'm also in South Australia so it's hot at the moment. For a week I just had the frames and then the lid which has about a 5m space in I suppose. Then I saw a hive on line with a ceiling below the lid with a ventilation hole in the middle so I have added that but now they can't get into the lid space. Any advice anyone?
I am new and don't like the girls on my hands lol
