The most charismatic person I know is an internationally renowned film and television actor. I know him personally, and he is naturally adept in all of these traits. In fact, when you spend time with him, he makes you feel as if you're the only person in the world when he's talking to you. He is very warm, incredibly funny, and he has good manners. In the 19 years I've known him, I've only seen him lose his temper once, and it was under extraordinary circumstances. These traits are all divorced from his work on screen. When he's on screen, he is magical at his craft and authentic. In real life, however, he is genuine, present, and delightful without necessarily tapping into his professional talent to connect with people. He's also a good friend and very kind to people.
I've never considered myself as a charming individual until an acquaintance pointed it out just the other day and even then, I couldn't believe it since I've always thought charismatic is a trait possessed mostly by extroverts which I'm not. Then, psych2go made this video and bam! Well, okay... it's nice to know that I turned out to be one. Instant self-esteem boost! Thanks, psych2go. ❤️

Here's a novel little habit to get into.... eliminate the "just" from titles for people... NOBODY is "just" anything... ever. They are who or whatever they've defined themselves to be, and you SHOULD be thankful not to have to shoulder that title and responsibility, too. There are two ways to look at any job/title... They can be "proudly" whatever they are... OR They can be "just a" who or whatever they are... It works just about everywhere. JUST a pilot, is JUST the dumb-ass who gets blame for crashing the plane/boat/etc... BUT if he's a PILOT then he's the one with the skills to keep the plane off the ground, and responsible for everyone onboard. It's a mighty and powerful job... takes intelligence and courage. JUST a janitor is JUST the poor schmuck who mucks out toilets and runs a mop or broom on the floor... BUT if he's THE janitor, he's the guy who's responsible for keeping the whole building clean and safe for you and me. He knows when and where to mix whatever soaps and chemicals for fragrance and longer lasting germ-fighting on surfaces with extra traffic, and he has to know which ones can turn toxic or kill people with outgassing horrible stuff. It takes not only solid training and intelligence but great care to keep a building full of the public from self-destructing in a toxic cloud of disease and filth. JUST a tech' is JUST a wrench pusher, the poor bastard in the back room who barks the hide off his knuckles putting together and fixing whatever everyone else keeps tearing up... BUT if he's PROUDLY the wrench pusher who keeps the show running, everyone still depends on him. It takes more than routines of education and an aptitude for memorizing parts in order to put the machines back together, but hardened experience to avoid wasting money on diagnosing the problems that inevitably arise. It takes determination to sift through leaking fluids or count and check strand by strand of technicolor spaghetti under the hood to figure out which particular one out of dozens isn't engaged in transferring electricity. JUST a secretary is JUST the pretty face behind a typewriter... BUT keeping the organization up so the business can get to the reports or forms or find the MOST current updates to protocols from last year's colossal failure is more than decorating the office. It's knowing who gets which calls at what times and over which issues, keeping up with the appointments and not letting anyone just barge ahead of the rest of the line so the CEO isn't swamped out of his mind with useless chatter over unimportant things when he should be making million-dollar decisions to keep the lights on... AND every single one of these jobs has a LOT more required of the people who fill them. It's easy to see them in low-motion times, sitting around, or stopping to take a rest and look over the schedule or some other information needed to straighten up their next process or project. They're certainly worthy of respect as holders of their jobs, and OURS is to presume they actually know what they're doing most of the time and intend to do it as well as possible under the circumstances that prevail... When you get used to avoiding titles like "Just a tool-pusher" or "Just a janitor", you'll notice a certain allowance for pride in your own job-title... It's nicer to be recognized as proper wait-staff instead of "just a damn waiter"... AND without your work done, somewhere down the line, the rest of the civilized society around us all would collapse into chaos... ...just don't let your head get TOO big about it. (We might not fit through the door.) ;o)
