@@zackparler8915 yep, kabaddi is a traditional sport of punjabis, a region partitioned into Pakistani and Indian sides. This one is thappar kabaddi, or slap kabaddi originally from the Pakistani side of punjab. These guys train from a young age to participate in these competition, and utilise traditional ways of doing so, like lifting stones, ploughing the fields etc for strength training
Known as Kabaddi in Punjabi/Urdu, it is a 5000-year-old traditional game we inherited from our Indus Valley Civilisation; even the name is the same. 1. Two teams of seven players compete on opposite sides of the field. 2. The raider, an offensive player, runs into the opposing team's half of the field and tags as many defenders as possible, chanting "kabaddi, kabaddi" while crossing into the other team's side. This is called a cant and proves that the raider is not inhaling. 3 The raider must return to their own half of the field in one breath without being tackled. 4. He scores points for each player they tag. The opposing team scores points if they stop the raider. 5. If the entire opposing team is declared out, the scoring team receives a bonus of two points, called a "lona". After a lona, all opposing players are revived and play resumes. 6. The game alternates between raiding and defending for 20 minutes. After the first session, players take a 5-minute break and then switch sides. The team with the most points at the end of two sessions wins. 7. Players are out of the game if they are tackled or tagged, step out of the field, or stop chanting. They can be brought back for each point scored by their team. 8. Players can only grab the raider's limbs or torso, not their hair or clothes.
@@bellorophon212Thank you, but I think you have explained the rules of the “modernized” kabaddi that has been exported to many countries. This Punjab version is different. I don’t understand the flurries of slaps exchanged. I also doubt that the no breathing rule is being applied here.

These guys can jump extremely high. I watched an anime called burn kabiddi and thought it was a 7 vs 7 indoor tag dodgeball. I didnt expect it to be a 1 vs 1 kangaroo jump slap boxing type of sport.
