Genuinely enjoying everything on this cart. Even Breakdance, which is simple but not terrible and was a clever concept at the time. Paradroid and Boulderdash are clearly the highlights though, and I love the Games games so thrilled to have Summer Games II even if you’re totally right about cycling on a d-pad!
This is an excellent cart. Heavy Metal Paradroid was an awesome game, still is. Boulderdash was brilliant and even Cybernoid II was a very good game. I think Exelon and Anarchy were underrated when they first came out, especially Anarchy as it was only a few quid. The other games were pretty good but I didnt really play them a lot. Definitely a worthwhile addition to the Evercade Carts
I got this because of Boulder Dash and Jumpman Junior. I hope we will see games like Boulder Dash 2, Giana Sisters, Flimbo's Quest and Mayhem in Monsterland in future collections. Though I dread that they will include some of those really weird games that have gained infamy from coverage from mostly 40 something nerds.
My friend loved Paradroid, but I never understoood the droid takeover system. However, I love Braybrooks Uridium and I’d like to explore this game a bit more.
Handheld Paradroid is probably the main selling point for me as I already have access to Boulderdash Deluxe on the Switch which has the retro version built in. Breakdance might just swing it for me ;-) Keep up the awesome work!
@@hebbietrekvoorlekkerefriet9916It was. KP Skips was somehow involved in its release. It felt like an open world game at its time, I think it would be an excellent release for the Evercade.
Intresting Boulder Dash is way more responsive and enjoyable to play on the original handheld via hdmi @ 720p than it is on VS @ 1080p. There was a bit of sound lag on VS I noticed, and it felt a little heavy which you woukd expet from 1080p anyway... Not so on the original handheld, (fully updated to the last firmware) using hdmi, very slick.
I love the c64 and still have one now , but for me 13 games on one cartridge isn't enough for me to buy , yes some good games on here though , big fan of cybernoid 2 and all the epyx summer , winter games . Lovely graphics , animation
I bought this collection as part of the bundle with Indie Heroes 3 and the socks. It's not a collection I'm really going to play. Time to get more selective about what I'm buying i think, because most of these recent collections just gather dust.
As an old 8-bit gamer, this should be right up my street, but aside from Boulder Dash, which I really would like to play again, those I remember just don’t grab me. There are plenty of games I’d love to see from this era, but licensing seems to be such a stumbling block.
So I finally got around to buying this, sort of on a whim. Boulder Dash is as good as I remember and there are a couple of other good ones, which are just as you say: Anarchy, Paradroid and an OK game in Exolon. The rest are really poor though, which is quite a shame. Gets a C+ in old-school grades for me.
Yeah a couple of decent games but sadly like the other 2 C64 collections, there's a lot of below average games here. Thalamus could be the best one yet.. but I may be slightly biased on this.
A whole Collection worth it for Two games! Mmmm?! 🤔. Not totally convinced by that argument Crazy Burger. Though your closing idea, combining 7 of the BEST across ALL the Collections. Now that seems worthy of a 4TH Collection! 👍. Though not sure if we would get anymore after the effort shown here, after a THIRD try?! 🤔
I am afraid, I will skip this one. Most of the games have not aged particularly well. But I fully understand that there is an audience for this cart, especially in the UK, where people are nostalgic about C64.
Dang I only have C64 collection 1. Looks like no bonus for that one and Summer Games 2 makes Summer Games obsolete. I believe it includes the same games plus new ones. We actually lose a game for the purchase.
How can you enjoy a game (like paradroid) if you don't know what's happening ? I don't understand that at all. Paradroid is great, but you do need to understand what's going on otherwise you're just shooting things and dying. The manual does a good job of explaining how it works, but you kind of glossed over that.
My comment of enjoying it but not understanding it was in relation to playing the game as a young teenager without reading the manual. You can enjoy plenty of games without understanding them. The video is 50 minutes long, some parts have to be "glossed" over otherwise we'll be here all night. The manuals generally do a good job of explaining things.. but not always. I thought I did a reasonable job of explaining what to actually do in the video. Feel free to make your own video to improve on this one.
Again the secret game is better than most of the games on the cart and locked out of EXP. What is wrong with Blaze. They took this game off the cart for this dumb gimmick.
Im personally fed up of these home computer carts. They are NOT USER FRIENDLY in the slightest Just bad carts. These will be the ones that stop me buying every cart. I think every home computer cart has been on once when purchased then never looked at again
The fact most of them are built-in C64 mini hand-me-downs doesn't help either. And you can buy brand new C64 minis today for the price of 2 C64 Evercade carts... We are suckers for being robbed. 😉
Ok. You had me at new secret game. Time to watch the video now.
Lol
Breakdance reminds me of Space Channel 5.

Finally, the return of the hidden game. It’s been too long. I thought they’d forgotten about the Vs feature. 👍

Lol very good. Yeah Paradroid is decent. Also enjoying Anarchy. Pretty tough though.
Great review i always watch your video on carts before i get them . i will get this but i wont be in a hurry to 👍👍
Hoping Collection 4 will have Clumsy Colin Action Biker. Spent many hours playing that as a kid 😏
Was action biker on c64???

Yeah its always a stumbling block that frustrates us all. 🙄

So which would be better: A cart with 15 games of mixed quality? Or a cart that just picks the six best of those 15?
6 best. 100%
Mhhh jeder mag was anderes
For the price of the carts now I'd expect 10 to 15 top quality games.
Should we get a 'So bad you have to see it once' cart at £5.99, perhaps?
Lol comes with 100 games

No.. extras with c64 1 and c64 2 though. Don't worry you're not missing anything.

I cant understand why blaze doing secret games. I wish to see these secret games on manuals as well.
There unplanned extras. Otherwise they'd be included in the manuals.
Boulder Dash is poop...I just got this cart for Paradroid, the other games are all just a bonus for me.
Boulderdash is not Poop. Behave yourself.
@@CrazyBurger - Okay...just in my opinion it's a poop game, lol! 😆

I dont get it either.. they pride themselves in picking some stinkers. Sword of Sodan, deliverance, break dance, monster movie.. shockers.
More really average licensing g again from Evercade. It's a continuing theme. But, 18 quid for Boulderdash is worth it.
Im personally fed up of these home computer carts.

I really hope blaze sort out the quality of these C64 cartridges there really crap
Overall there are too many average to poor c64 titles. Lol maybe even too many average to poor titles overall.
@@CrazyBurger , Unfortunately far to many lately
