John Malecki wants to work with you guys. You should absolutely check them out!
Hey Bigtime! John Malecki and Sam Poola need your help fixing their Milwaukee kei truck! They have all the Icon tools you’ll need, they just need your expertise. Welcome to John Malecki Unscrewed Time!!
Hey there Bigtime! John Malecki and Sam Poola from Unscrewed told me of your channel. I would really like to see a collab of you both fixing their truck. 🎉
“The smallest tool you can do a job with is the right tool”
Thanks Jobe, it was nice to hear that.
I smell another t-shirt opportunity @bigtimebigtimebigtime
This was an odd one. Never heard it said like this before. Maybe the cheapest tool or the tool you have on you, but smallest...sure. Maybe smallest "power tool" because I don't see mechanics using stubby ratchets all day 😂
😂
BOBs exist. Battery operated Boyfriends.
Straight up. Ain’t the first time he said it but since he did It’s always stuck. Never heard that from anyone else surprisingly
You know John Malecki Unscrewed brought me here since he seems to love you guys knowledge in the automotive scene and wants his mini truck fixed too 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Edit: 50 Likes? Let’s goooo

After your last HF video I decided to go check out my local HF. I joined their membership program that same day, got the HF credit card and turned my garage into an almost fully functional smithing shop. Thanks for the push to finally start my dream hobby.
Dude saw one Harbor Freight video and decided, "yep, I'm going full Harbor Freight right now."
not the harbor freight debt... damn cross peen hammer going to cost you 200$ by the time you pay it off
@@AndrewBrownerbetter than $1200 from Snap-Off.
That’s cool and all but don’t go into credit card debt for harbor freight lol.
Make sure to pay that card off or the interest will rail you.
It brings me endless joy watching these dingdongs act like me and my hometown friend, also Jer's hyena cackle hahaha
Doing this video with direct comparisons to Milwaukee is awesome. Too many young guys saddle themselves with ludicrous amounts of debt for tool truck brands or Milwaukee tools when Hercules, Bauer, and Icon would serve them fine for a fraction of the price.
All hail Harbor Freight.
if you use your cheap tool twice, it's already paid for itself - how many times do you have to use a Milwaukee before it pays for itself?
@@boredom.victimDepends on how you use them I guess.
I’m a large skyscraper commercial electrician and my tools cop a proper flogging sometimes up to 3-6 hours a day actual use time no joke. My Milwaukee hammer drill is 6 years old at this point and it hasn’t ever skipped a beat.
If your entire lively hood is based upon you having zero downtime and needing the reliability , buying the proven more expensive tool sometimes pays for itself.
It’s great to start with harbor freight and invest in the name-brand tool after you assess what gets the most use time
@@LVUFC I think using it this regularly is a great reason to buy a tool that's built better, hopefully that tool is actually built better!
@@BoomBeench Exactly , Milwaukee has a cult following from people who literally keep a roof over their head with those tools and they have the following cause they’re never really let down from those tools.
Although I do think if you’re just some bloke working on a car in the garage but you’re an office worker during the weekday. These Hercules tools seem like a great option. No where near the continuous stress on the tool in comparison to construction and if it does break in your garage , oh well you just have to wait a few days to fix your project car. It’s no big deal.
My husband had all of his tools stolen from his work last December (after his dad died in September) and your video on the ICON tools really helped us get him back to a point he could work again. Thank you for doing these
Wow, this video got post like an hour ago and already changed his life? Amazing 😂

Those oscillating multi-tools are incredible for house work, I borrowed a friends for one job and instantly went out and bought my own. Haven't used mine much for vehicles but I use it all the time in my house and a lot of wood working projects.
They also make outlet cutout tools for them so that you can cut out the drywall in one motion. I've seen a handful of drywall guys that are extremely upset that those things didn't exist when they were in the trades.
About a decade ago a contractor friend told me the number one tool a homeowner should have outside of the general hammer, screwdriver, and drill was an oscillating tool. I was skeptical at first but once I bought one I realized he was absolutely correct.
I use mine for a million things renovating my house, don't know what I did before buying one.
Nice one, boys.
As a professional DIY ruiner-of-my-own-cars, I love
Hercules.
This ... 😂 ... This right here is funny AF! 🤣🤣
So Hercules is not recommended 😂
Woah look at the dork recording the security cameras 0:23 😂love the shot exposing him anyway lol

I'll take all the Bauer tools
Wow so silly hahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhahahahhahaahahh you're such a comedic genius hahahahahahahaha

7:50 That Hercules Ultra Impact wrench is NO JOKE! It took care of my Honda crank bolt no sweat! I highly recommend that one for sure!
Only Honda Boys and mechanics know how impressive this is
You meant to say impact wrench lol.
What annoyed me is that they didn't get the 3/4 inch when they have 3/4 inch sockets. Like come on, it's more beans for free.
Gents, I just want to say that as someone who has never cranked on a car and is approaching 40, your channel really makes it look like a hell of a lot of fun. Hopefully it is because I just picked up a Silvia S15 Spec R from Japan.
DAMN
Living the dream then! I hope to have one someday!
Always found it funny that different trades have a weird brand loyalty. Like I swear plumbers? That’s Milwaukee. Electricians? That’s Dewalt. Australian automotive RUclipsrs? That’s Ryobi.

I work for a cat dealer as a field tech on heavy equipment and I’m a Milwaukee person for sure so I will stick with what I have but as a new guy you absolutely can not beat the new Hercules tools. One of our other techs has almost all the new tools and for the price it’s crazy how good they are. I completely recommend them. Also $2600 for everything they got when that’s basically 3 tools on the tool truck when you could get a harbor freight card and spend the same monthly as the truck with no Interest and have it paid off way faster for so many more tools how could you not go to harbor freight!

Really love Jerry and Jobe, but I gotta be honest, Chewie’s definitely my favorite BigTime host
Love it- thanks guys! I recognize my local Harbor Freight, thanks for the inspiration and fun videos 🔥🔥🔥
Tool Porn. Hercules is awesome. I bought into the herc line because I was tired of paying 4x the price for Milwaukee and Makita. Turns out most of the Hercules items were just as powerful/reliable as my Milwaukee and Makita tools. Some were not as good, but just barely. Some were actualy more powerful.
It's been really great seeing this channel grow, you definitely made the right choice going your own way and betting on yourselves.
5:59 that’s what I keep telling my wife
Im telling you! Between the gum chewing, his speech cadence, and his height. All Jerry needs is a mustache and hes basically Burt Reynolds haha 😄
One of the most useful tools from Harbor Freight is the 1" work bench belt sander. I've used it round the end of a small metal dowel to fix the "floppy shifter syndrome" that can plague the GX470. I have used it to sharpen kitchen knives (leather strop belt from ebay). I use it for shaping parts for my Radio Control vehicles. I use it for something damn near weekly and it was like $30.
Great episode, keep it up.
that 1x30 belt sander is a GEM. i have all the big 2x72 knifemaker stuff and i still love that little 1x30. i keep buying them because i always end up giving them to people to get them started. indispensable knife sharpener

Oscillating multi tools are great for plunge cuts, making clean cuts in drywall, plywood etc. also you can fit a carpet utility knife blade on it and cut carpet with almost no effort. They're really good for odd jobs like that

Between this and John Malecki's buy every Hercules it makes me happy that there are more options than just Milwuakee and DeWalt to get into.
I mean, I know it ain't the same but there are so many tools brands right now.
Under Stanley black and Decker there are DeWalt and craftsman.
TTI makes Ryobi, Ridgid (they don't own Ridgid they just design them) and Milwaukee
Chevron makes Skil (super underrated brand btw), Kobalt (Lowe's owns Kobalt but Chevron designs the tools), and Flex (incredible stuff but they just don't have many tools yet).
Then harbor freight has Bauer and Hercules.
I also didn't mention Bosch, metabo, hikoki, porter cable, hilti or any of the OPE brands that often also make construction equipment for their massive batteries.
@@littlejack59i thought Flex was discontinued!

In your next video do the better brands next time. Harbor freight might be cheaper it also performs worse. Get some Milwaukee, Klein, craftsman, mikita, or Ryobi these are all better brands. When it comes to power tools the more money you spend the better because the chances of you getting a higher quality product that lasts longer are quite higher.
I would but I live 5,146 miles away

hercules high torque is pretty good, I bought it at launch instead of the milwaukee and I've been using it ever since. Never once had a problem with it. Also it was close to the time the 2767s were exploding so it was a no brainer for me
The high torque is alright, but there isn't much reason to get it over the ultra torque since the price difference is pretty small.
@@littlejack59 it was about 30$ difference and it weighed less when I bought it, I had wrist problems at the time and I was wanting to avoid extra strain. I was also a bit hard up at the time so the price difference was welcome.

Lighting is a deep DEEEP rabbit hole guys. Initial vs delivered lumens along with photometric files are the most helpful. Lux can be misleading depending on the optic setup, move the off the center point and you'll get almost nothing for anything designed to have punch. Add to that that Color temps and rendering index levels of different LED's, binning, and cooling for long term use.
Ya, I think they confused lux (which is often called candela) and lumens. Lumens is the total light output which needs to be measured by completely encasing the light emitting part. Well candela/ lux is easier to measure since you just need a simple device like the one they had in the video and then to be a fixed (often industry standard) distance away. Lux is the concentration of light, lumens is the total output of light. Spot lights need tons of lux to see things that are very far away, flood lights do not need super high lux, instead needing tons of lumens to lighten up the immediate surrounding area. But of course, both kinds of lights need some amount of the other or they will just suck either way.
Cant wait to hear "Upside" on a future "Upside is a scam and there's why." Video.
"It's the current that kills you"
Oh boy do I have a great Styro Pyro video to recommend to you

Also the test they did both tapes should be the same width

Lithium-ion batteries really changed the game for cordless tools. I forgot my impact wrench in my trunk for two winters (really only use it for changing/rotating tires). One of those two winters was very cold for us here in eastern WA. Dug it out in the spring and put it on the charger. ~80% charged still. And this was just a Craftsman maybe around $100 five years ago.
Just a heads up general rule wih lithium-ion is keep it at %40-%60 while not using it for a long time for battery health. That's why phones come out of the box half charged.
@ Thank you!
We actually have better batteries for that kind of application now. Lithium iron phosphate. they handle extreme cold and heat better, they are lighter, and they have waaaaay more recharge cycles problem is that they can't output as much power, they aren't as power dense, lower voltage, and they are much more expensive than the traditional lithium nickel manganese Cobalt oxide ones. It's not technically correct to call them lithium ion since both lithium iron phosphate batteries are also lithium ion, but nobody wants to say all of that so we just call the Cobalt ones lithium ion.
I wish manufactures made special batteries and labeled them as built for those specific conditions, but they know people are stupid and are going to complain that a more expensive 3-4ah battery can't power their massive high torque like their 4ah cheaper one can.
@ how much are they?
Not sure the average Joe needs something that will survive 18 months without a charge
@@cin2110 yes and no. There are regulations about shipping fully charged batteries. They're more likely to explode and when they do explode there's more energy. So, most of the time you'll receive batteries that are about 30% +/- 10% from the factory. It can also save a lot of $$$ in electricity to not charge everything to 80% or more.
I'm glad I'm not the only who remembers numbers but turning it into a "song" 😂
