Huawei Mate 30 PRO 5G - April 2021 and this method still works. It took me 24hrs to find a viable solution and was not sure why the instructions in this video did not work initially. It seems like you need to downgrade your operating system to 10.0.0 to be able to use this method. Here's what I did:
1. Connected my phone to PC, installed HiSuite
2. Click on Restore > Downgrade (go all the way to 10.0.0)
3. Follow the instructions in the video above and it will work.

@@taufanhamimfitroni4798 i was not getting all the notification. at the end i just reset the phone downloaded aptoide to download apps and im using it without google it works so much better.

Also, ich habe mir ein Huawei Mate 40 Pro gekauft, weil ich davor ein Huawei Mate 20 Pro hatte und sehr, sehr, sehr zufrieden war mit diesem Hersteller und auch mit der Serie Mate. Also habe ich mir ein gebrauchtes Mate 40 Pro geholt und wusste schon vor dem Kauf, dass ich mich auf diese App-Schlacht einstellen muss, also im Sinne von, dass man keine Google Play-Dienste nutzen kann. Aber ich dachte nicht, dass es so kompliziert wird und tatsächlich bin ich leider die längste Zeit Huawei-Kunde gewesen, aber dieses komische Spielchen mit den App-Stores und so, das habe ich echt kein Bock.

@@selvakumarv1473 I've been on Chinese sites regarding this issue and it would appear that GMS can be sideloaded on the mate40 Pro Chinese device rather than the international one.
Downgrade to emui 10 then follow this video step and then after that you can back to upgrade emui 11

You have to downgrade your emui to version 10.0.217..... Maybe downgrade 2 times!! It will take more than 2 hours to downgrade... Very slow to download.... GAM is not able to install if you don't downgrade..... It took me more than 5hours to have it ready to install other process...

use Hisuit..There is an option to recover lower version... But take time...It take me almost 4 hours to finished it as download speed is very slow.. And maybe need to downgrade 2 times to reach lower version..... After that make sure you uninstall backup from app management..Also, clear backup in Huawei market management.. Or the system will always detected you have better version of backup app....And it won't let you install backup.... That's the problem I encountered.....
