Andrzej and his team took advantage of the quieter Himalayan autumn season for the attempt, and you can find out more about the world first descent here 🏔 www.redbull.com/int-en/andrzej-bargiel-mount-everest 🎿
This is a legendary achievement, and the fact that the video STARTS with him having climbed Everest already without O2 is MIND-BLOWING in it's own right. Andrzej is a living legend.
@bendalton5221 And less than 2% of all successful Everest summits are without oxygen, with fewer than 200 in history. Its still one of the hardest things a human body can go through, and him being above 8,000m for eighteen _hours_ is insane.
@TendyDefendy the mountian is also in its off season, during the on season so much trash is just dumped by hikers, from my understanding in the offseason it all gets covered in snow, just to happen again the next year
It should be quite stressful, at that altitude there's very little oxygen so it takes two or three gasps to get the same value we normally get with one
What makes this most incredible is the fact that he immediately skied down. Now, if you don't ski, you don't understand how much this destroys your legs. All of that, after climbing the tallest mountain in the world. This man is a testament to physical strength and resilience
ok but like… he’s literally just sliding down the hill lol how hard can it be???? (actual comments I’ve seen here from the “i could do this” crowd 😂 - same vibe as someone who looks at a Rothko and says “it’s just squares, I could do that”… which, a) you’re wrong & b) even if somehow you could… the fact remains that you didn’t!)
@iterativegrowth dude....are you that dense? did you ever ski? "sliding down"...well , what do you think skiing is? any curve you do, any corner, any braking you do goes right into your legs. and you probably can imagine that you have a whole lot of braking to do when going down everest
What might look like a one-man show is actually a team effort, the supporting sherpa, the drone pilot and the safety guide navigating him. Kudos to the whole team.
I'm a drone pilot. And I'd feel honored to even be able to take one of the shots that RedBull took in this video. This is the mountain of the mountains. Queen of the kings.
I’m only 5 minutes in, but I very much appreciate this not having commentary or the typical extreme sport type music. Really lets the athleticism speak for itself.
That's exactly what I was thinking when watching. Also no information blocks about how many people try to climb the mountain each year etc etc. Just the athlete and the mountain
Me in mexico not realizing how dense I have become and almost drowning😂 I thought i knew how to swim, adrenaline kicked in thankfully and I made it out. Breathing that heavy is not a fun time, but mexico sure was 😂
@Frank-s1x2s people only go to everest for a few weeks during April and may. The weather is normally way too bad the rest of the year when the jet stream comes back and hits the peak (>200mph winds). Somehow these guys found a small window in September.
What an absolute mad lad. Let's also take a moment to appreciate the Sherpas, without whom none of humanity's achievements in the Himalayas would be possible. Legends, all of them.
@johngalt9989 are the Sherpas just acclimated THAT well to the environment and height etc? Or just kinda they’re good because they climb it often? I’ve always wondered how the Sherpas do it so easily, compared to the rest of the world. It’s amazing.
@strikeforcek9149 Well, at least part of the answer is yes, they're very acclimatized to the altitude. I once got reverse altitude sickness (had to look it up to learn its name/ basically the same symptoms as altitude sickness, but from a drastic decline vs incline) and I learned that sherpas get it frequently. So used to higher altitude levels of oxygen, one common remedy is to send them BACK up into their mountain home regions, and stagger their descent in stages to give their bodies time to adjust. I'm sure there are other logical factors but that is at least definitely one of them!
I used to joke with people that the only thing left for redbull at this point is to ski down Mt.Everest. Never in my wildest thoughts would I have guessed that the joke would actually come true.
@AlexRiding6 I read that they summited at a time usually noone summit, after 2pm (3pm in this case) it's too risky if you want to make it to the next camp before sunset
Imagine training for years, becoming a prime example of human fitness and mental strength. Saying goodbye to your family to conquer your goals.and spending alot of money to finally be able to climb Mount everest. Then, just before you hit the top, a polish man skis past you.
This is literally the most reckless and dangerous stunt i have ever seen in my life. Its "video game" level of insane, and its an honor to witness this on sunday morning.
I do not know if to admire the bravery and courage and skill and perseverence or to codemn the foolishness and danger and risk-taking and vanity and pride It was life-death situation all the time
It's probably more like "what did you do the last two months?" - Because it involves getting acclimatized, which takes weeks, walking in to base camp, preparing the camp chain for the ascent (remember this is out of season), waiting for the ideal weather, and whatnot... But you have a point, such extreme performance and taking such extreme risks is not possible without *lots* of confidence and nerves of steel.
@tom.a5796 all the tourists go during dry season, Andrzej and Dawa went during wet season when nobody's there because it's much more dangerous. He, Dawa and his team at the camps were the only people present at the mountain. That alone is honestly a really big achievement let alone no oxygen and skiing down the whole way on top of that.
If he wasn’t wearing a red bull helmet which had to be included in almost every shot - it would be more impressive, this way it feels it was done just for money, a commercial…
I agree!! This is insane. What is Everest 5.5 miles up? It seems like he is literally sking above the clouds forever. You can hear it in his breathing. Absolutely mind boggling to me.
I trekked to basecamp and thought I was dying, people dont understand the level of endurance, patience and dedication it takes to ascend to this altitude, let alone when you get there have the energy in your legs and consciousness to be able to navigate down. UNreal
The trek to BC is exhausting even for a lot of the climbers. Don't be too down, you put in the work and it's definitely possible to get to the 8000m level.
Loved the way they kept it raw and simple. No text-book drama, no crazy transitions, no crazy music. It felt like, you were part of the journey in IRL.
@SuspiciousIguana True. At one point it seemed like he spent several hours sitting at one sport, then there was a shot of him getting the lights out and suddenly he was in another camp.
People have no idea how insane this really is. Climbing Everest without oxygen is already legendary. Clipping into skis at the top and skiing back down through the Death Zone is beyond sport - it’s pure human insanity and courage in one video.
Very, very impressive. Kind of like jumping over the Grand Canyon on a rocket powered motorcycle. Impressive, but probably not terribly smart. Glad he made it.
This was not achievable without those brave Sherpas. Hats off to all those Sherpas from the land of the Himalayas. Congratulations, Andrezej. You did a fantastic job.
I was once near the top of a 10,000 ft. mountain with my girlfriend in Arizona in 1973 when a young man, probably in his mid 20's, approached us and asked for spare change...lol.
@ezze7540 gee, I wonder how you'd do up there then? Not even moving around or anything, just staying there without an oxygen tank for a couple hours in clothes to protect you from the cold
I’m not a skier nor have I ever tried I live in the south USA but this is absolutely breath taking my heart was pumping most of this video. Id love to ski one day
Without oxygen it's not really recommended to start spending time on top. Most people start the descent within 15 minutes anyways. Also, do we know if there were cuts, which could mean he actually spent more time up there?
Andrzej, Very proud of you. Your determination in avoiding cervases and gently gliding down is so nice. A big salute. I have been to EBC myself and I truly appreciate your effort. God bless you. 🫡
Beyond Andrzej Bargiel's incredible athletic feat, I’m equally blown away by how far camera technology has come in this era. From the body-worn 360 cameras to the aerial drones, achieving IMAX-level quality at nearly 9,000 meters is absolutely mind-bending. The evolution of visual tech right now is simply unreal.
To be honest, I thought he could do with another body worn camera without so much of a fish eye lens but I still agree with you on how far tech as come.
@Max_Chooch maybe not the incans would chew on cocain leaves to treat altitude sickness. A higher blood pressure means a highrr flow of blood in a healthy person which mean more oxygen to vital parts of the body.
All those cuts, who knows how many breaks this guy got to suck in a few tanks before filming again. The faint steady heavy breathing noise consistently throughout the video is quite comical. He spent 17 hrs in an area he could easily ski down from? So many discrepancies 😂
@partiallyparkerhahaha nah clearly its a monster and extremely dangerous anyway you look at it but still part of ya just wants to see him send it from the top to base camp in 5 minutes 😆😆
In 10 years time you will see a clown driving down the mount everest backwards on a unicycle juggling some balls. But since it is red bull no one will bat an eye.🤣
This is what RUclips was made for - witnessing peak human conditioning and unbelievable feats of courage. Thank you for capturing such a legendary moment for all of us to marvel at!
He just climbed it with a nimble Asian carrying all his stuff, then went down it at 2mph pizza style, hyperventilating while epic music plays. Y’all are too easily impressed. The fact redbull spent millions on this for him to never surpass 10mph is embarrassing.
I appreciate living in a time where we have such technology to show this with such a sharp, clear image. This is what they should play on TVs for sale at stores
10:17 I thought he was super human until this fall. To put it into perspective, if he'd dislocated his knee which is easy to do in skiis, no helicopter could come help rescue at that altitude. Mad lad! Glad he made it down safely ♥
Funny enough, they actually don't. Red Bull is solely a marketing company that holds the rights to the brand and perhaps the recipe for the drink. The drink itself is manufactured by companies that, y'know, actually deal with drink production. Because of that RB doesn't make more profit the more it directly produces and sells, they make more profit when their brand is worth more, so they really only focus on the crazy stuff we know the logo for. They could well be (and are) licensing that for any other product on the market and act as a giant ad campaign for it.
What’s even crazier then this is the sherpas like “speed” it’s like a 9-5 job for him, like he wakes up in the morning and is like “ohhh man gotta climb Everest again, I hate mondays”
That Sherpa just waiting for him at the top at the beginning of the video had me laughing. Sherpa likely carried all their gear up there too. It takes months to climb Everest, I genuinely hope Redbull didn't screw them out of a fat bag.
@GUILLOTINE_GANGAnd the sherpa is using oxygen...he is not. So the sherpa has an advantage. The other guy is touching it out and trying to make history.
No oxygen is just absolutly insane. I thought it was just no oxygen for the decent, but doing the decent after 18 hours at that altitude is wild. that first day is so terrifying to watch
@gwen8859 do u not understand? It’s not no oxygen it’s that there is no oxygen mask or anything like that. The higher u are there becomes less oxygen. So he was just struggling to breathe the whole time.
I’m a72 year old English man writing on my wife’s account. I’ve skied for 55 years andistill do with my Canadian grandkids. This is completely beyond anything I’ve ever seen. To non skiers its impossible to express what this man has done. Glorious.
I once skied down from the crater summit of Mt Ruapehu in New Zealand, just shy of 9200 ft high, which I had to hike up to since the ski lifts end far below. I went up there with a friend who also was an American ski instructor who follows the ski seasons north and south of the Equator for work (south of the Equator, NZ's ski season is June through August, just like Chile and Argentina). Up there is extremely steep looking down, it looks like a sheer drop when you first look down, covered both in snow with decent cover and traction along with smoother icy parts, and also many exposed bare rocky sections which have to be avoided at all costs obviously, looking just like what Andrzej and the camera see looking down and from a distance to the sides of the cliffs. But that was still like skiing a beginner's bunny slope compared to this.
This isn't thrilling like other Red Bull stunts. It's grueling, and terrifying. But it's probably more impressive than any of the others I've seen. The scale of the task is incredible...
This is what RUclips is supposed to be about. No AI slop, no clickbait, no inane internet challenges, no loud screaming personality trying to game your attention span-just a person doing something incredible because he had an insane idea, and he wanted to share his vision with the world. I want this feeling back, don't you?
This is literally the exact opposite of what youtube was supposed to be. It is for people to upload videos shot in their backyard, not something of this scale that probably had millions of dollars behind it.
You didn’t see the cgi snow fall they put towards the beginning 😢 it’s pretty sad actually .. plus all the fisheye camera angles to try and make it look more dangerous smh super corny 😢
I wish they didn’t use a fish eye lens when they had the perspective of the skier. I love this video. I’ve done a lot of backcountry skiing brings me back.
@TexasFoldEm- I disagree. His body is probably starving for easily accessible sugars after the exhausting climb, lugging those massive lead balls up the mountain. and then supporting them suspended between his legs after they shrivel up from the cold. keeping them from dragging on the rocks below Probably hell on his thighs, glutes, calves All of those are going to want something to eat right away, followed by proper nutrition as soon as he can find a warm meal
12:27 When he arrives at camp four after 18 hours in the Death Zone and just says "Need something eat," he must've been the most exhausted person on the planet in that moment. Insane feat by Andrezej and the entire team, especially the 12 Sherpas who made it possible.
I heard the reply as 'I don't have anything' in Greek - Δεν έχω τίποτα. But maybe wrong, a bit hard to make out but the syllables and last word are fairly clear to me.
@kraigbarrett7483 I think that he put the camera into his backpack to put a light on his helmet, so they didn't have any footage. That or it was too dark to look good.
@DualityofMan100 yeah. That moment he drops the stick and is reaching in with the other was terrifying. And then he had 2 more in literally the next 63 seconds alone going down that collapsed route was just the worst. And then he had like 3 more and a cliff 20 seconds after that. The weight of his balls must've kept him weighed down enough to stop in time
@jaryncovell2538 Ik bro I was on the edge of my seat the whole video😂 I like stuff like this more than horror movies it’s suspenseful even tho they have endless funds to save him if anything were to happen😂
I still dont understand why they re not building a gondola to the top. This would be one of the most profitable gondola ever made ! At 100 000$ a ticket there would still be thousands of people who would pay.
Andrzej and his team took advantage of the quieter Himalayan autumn season for the attempt, and you can find out more about the world first descent here 🏔 www.redbull.com/int-en/andrzej-bargiel-mount-everest 🎿
okay redbull might just have hit the PEAK with these stunts xD
Kammerlander did it first.
What about Hans Kammerlander in 1996?
And Kammerlander is still alive.
Read his books, they’re great.
@nicoladelledonne2476 exactly
Nice to finally see some footage of my grandads route back from school
@BWalker_VR 🤣🤣
he didnt get chased by the local fauna
😂
Don't forget son, he had to walk up it every morning.
😂😂😂😂🎉
Maybe this will motivate me to do the dishes today.
I did mine today....EMTs said for a man of 38 years, they were impressed.
AHAHAHAHAHA OMFG
@bluepandaman frrrrr
@bluepandaman haha…best comment ever
@bluepandaman jokes on you i did them lastnight
This is a legendary achievement, and the fact that the video STARTS with him having climbed Everest already without O2 is MIND-BLOWING in it's own right. Andrzej is a living legend.
@QuantaSeeker he's an animal.
Exactly what I was thinking! What a legend!
it's not... someone did this in 1970, without it being a Redbull stunt... this wasn't original or a first.....
@bendalton5221 source?
@bendalton5221 And less than 2% of all successful Everest summits are without oxygen, with fewer than 200 in history. Its still one of the hardest things a human body can go through, and him being above 8,000m for eighteen _hours_ is insane.
Everything is always 'impossible' until some polish guy comes and does it.
@vorpi Or ,,some” sherpa :))
or a Slovene...Davo Karničar did it first
Davo used oxygen, this guy didn't
@Lacerated1DJ3 while drunk?
These shots of Everest alone should get a nomination for best nature documentary of the year.
@Cyber_Chriis no
@firastounsi6402 yes, lil bro
Total AI video.
I was thinking this was amazing footage of Everest.
@TendyDefendy the mountian is also in its off season, during the on season so much trash is just dumped by hikers, from my understanding in the offseason it all gets covered in snow, just to happen again the next year
No talking and raw footage was the correct way to do this. Amazing.
Glad to have your stamp of approval
Its not raw footage, its edited.
landmark footage
It's not RAW footage when there's music and cuts, but I agree with the sentiment. More content like this!
It's edited, it is not raw, it has audio effects too.
What they did correctly is good framing and scenes, subjective audio, no music.
The heavy breathing and coughing was giving me anxiety man, this guy is a machine and shout out to the whole team
Same, i forgot i had the video in 2x speed so i was freaking out when he sounded like he was hyperventilating
@bk191i know how you feel… i had mine in 1.5- the music is much different sped up as well. on 1x the music is kind of motivating😂
Why speed it up.. just enjoy gang..
It should be quite stressful, at that altitude there's very little oxygen so it takes two or three gasps to get the same value we normally get with one
Because 31 mins is way too long for a lot of people to be able to pay attention. Sad times
The lack of commentary made this absolutely sublime
Why did i think he would ski down Mt everest in one swift motion bro
I did too
there are many cuts in the footage, but hell, it is not an easy feat.
if you watch nate bargatze, it would be ski down Mt everest in one fell swoop
Because he was waiting for the sherpa
@panoskakatsis6897 I was so upset bro and then i felt like spoiled idiot. Ofc you cant why tf did i think he would ride 300kmh 😭😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"sorry you have to climb up again we forgot to press record"
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
They'd use a copter to take him back up
@MrStinky715really? Did you think about your comment before writing it? That’s not possible on Everest.
@DanielDuhon bro stfu they would just fly it all the way up
@DiddyClapper-l1g you are aware that helicopters cant reach up there
Imagine playing two truths and a lie with this guy
we wouldn't know which one is a lie
@Swishzez yeah... thats kinda the point of the OP xD
That doesn’t surprise me at all. At least most of the stories true. I was just mentioning that in comments.
hey whats that small thin figure on that distant mountain? 21:31 mid upper left
@axcenomega I don't see it?
I love watching this from the comfort of my cozy bed
@kentuckyukimiya 🤣
This is somehow simultaneously one of the most peaceful and terrifying videos I've ever seen.
Right??? I have the movie Everest going in the back of my head right now too.
Just as nature intended.
@alexanderpayne4652 and oddly enough it’s single-handedly the most boring video I’ve ever watched
@alexanderpayne4652 well said
True especially all the ice crevice areas or fields. Some are hidden.many very deep.

True.
@iterativegrowth dude....are you that dense? did you ever ski? "sliding down"...well , what do you think skiing is? any curve you do, any corner, any braking you do goes right into your legs. and you probably can imagine that you have a whole lot of braking to do when going down everest
@BoostedSpeedDemon human body wont resisting at this altitude. He had to do that.
@hazardeur You didn't read the whole comment did you 😂
Was anyone else expecting him to just rip it down the mountain in like an hour hahaha
I did!
😂 me too!
NO BUT what im wondering is SO WHAT!!
@MrHokFu Yes. That's the only reason I started watching the video.
Yes, I definitely thought he was going to yeet it down the mountain!
Can’t imagine how much agony he went through. His legs and lungs must of been on fire the whole time.
What might look like a one-man show is actually a team effort, the supporting sherpa, the drone pilot and the safety guide navigating him. Kudos to the whole team.
Yes, that's right, and it was a perfect job by the whole team.
@KanishkGupta How does a Drone fly at 29,000 ft? Isn't the air too thin?
@williampeek7943 You would think but evidently not.
@williampeek7943 probably used specialised drone that has more aero for lift thus allowing it to still fly in thinner air.
@KanishkGupta no s*** genius
Imagine you're climbing Mount Everest and you see someone fricking skiing down the mountain like they have a second life
Where is the parachute?
Hopefully nobody else is climbing upwards after 3 pm though, unless you have skis for descent or are a Sherpa climber nicknamed "Speed"
no one is still climbing up everest after 2PM
@MrFlopper789 "life"
😂 that's actually a comedy sketch
Thanks for including the audio of his coughing and wheezing. Someone might watch and think "I could do that".
@BattlesuitExcalibur no cap I can do that. Maybe with 1 oxygen tank but I could easily do that
@BattlesuitExcalibur frrr like no bro, ur fatahh can NOT do that 😭😭
Lots of people really have no idea how much of a struggle thin air is.
@MayoLayoVids Then it _won't_ be "that" my man
WHO is thinking this 🥀
I'm a drone pilot.
And I'd feel honored to even be able to take one of the shots that RedBull took in this video.
This is the mountain of the mountains.
Queen of the kings.
After watching this, I can confirm, I don't want to do this
@MonkingTV me too! From here is nice, but there you are NOT appreciating nothing
I discovered that this is the only video you want to watch while cleaning smudges off your 70" LED TV.
@crackawood😂😂
@crackawood...good to know
I’m only 5 minutes in, but I very much appreciate this not having commentary or the typical extreme sport type music. Really lets the athleticism speak for itself.
That's exactly what I was thinking when watching. Also no information blocks about how many people try to climb the mountain each year etc etc.
Just the athlete and the mountain
100%. What he does is more than spectacular and the contrast to those scenic shots and landscapes is just great
Love hearing just the breathing in the background and the body’s way of compensating for the oxygen demands too
True!
@Thee_Sinner yeah, instead they added a bunch of horror movie background music
The way he is breathing nonstop...
I know that feeling.
Last week, the elevator was broken. What a man.
Sounds like me while having pneumonia and a cold asthma last autumn.
loll
@Bearodon thats a horrible combo
Me in mexico not realizing how dense I have become and almost drowning😂 I thought i knew how to swim, adrenaline kicked in thankfully and I made it out. Breathing that heavy is not a fun time, but mexico sure was 😂
@Bearodonglad ur ok ❤
I know nothing of mountaineering or skiing. This is simply super human.
The fact a drone is able to capture and fly at 9k meters is a accomplishment in itself!
His brother Bartek is good in software
Software not the issue, the issue is air density. A helicopter couldn’t get up there
@jeffpraterJSF there was a heli already at the summit... i think it was an AS350
Im impressd that the batteries held charge
the summiting scenes is NOT from the Everest. They are making fools of the YT crowd.
I need supplemental oxygen just watching this.
@superepicstravaganza 😂same
Right and you cannot use no helicopter I want raw footage lol dammm
I am on supplemental oxygen and I need MORE supplemental oxygen watching this
😂
Dumb
Renting Mount Everest for a few days is definitely the biggest flex Redbull has ever pulled off.
@zbabyg6998 I was wondering where everybody else was on such a beautiful day...
Exactly what I was thinking ;) normally you see like a caravan of people and sherpers lining up to the peak.
@Frank-s1x2s people only go to everest for a few weeks during April and may. The weather is normally way too bad the rest of the year when the jet stream comes back and hits the peak (>200mph winds). Somehow these guys found a small window in September.
@systemicchaos3921that means he had to stay at at least base camp to stay acclimatized to the altitude and wait for a window. That’s dedication.
@Skeletors_Closet Yeah they were probably there for a while. Would be cool to see a behind the scenes
10:12 one of the single most beautiful and terrifying things ive ever witnessed
What an absolute mad lad. Let's also take a moment to appreciate the Sherpas, without whom none of humanity's achievements in the Himalayas would be possible. Legends, all of them.
@johngalt9989 are the Sherpas just acclimated THAT well to the environment and height etc? Or just kinda they’re good because they climb it often?
I’ve always wondered how the Sherpas do it so easily, compared to the rest of the world. It’s amazing.
@johngalt9989 Connor?
There are two kinds of people who climb Everest; Nepali sherpas and douchebags.
You know nothing, Jon Snow.
I used to joke with people that the only thing left for redbull at this point is to ski down Mt.Everest. Never in my wildest thoughts would I have guessed that the joke would actually come true.
Time to think bigger
We’re probably wet when writing this comment…You so cool for acting like you knew it all along 😅
Your story is nothing but pathetic
And with no supplementary oxygen. Polska górą.
Ski jump to squirrel suit off Mt Everest
next is dive down Mariana Trench
I don't know what is the most astounding - Andrzej's insane performance, or the fact that there is nobody else on Mt. Everest besides those 2 guys.
Yeah I wonder when this was shot
probably for safety reasons
also i thought the summit had a bunch of prayer flags and stuff? guessing redbull paid to keep the summit to themselves for a day.
@AlexRiding6 I read that they summited at a time usually noone summit, after 2pm (3pm in this case) it's too risky if you want to make it to the next camp before sunset
No one is climbing up the mountain past 3pm, I also think they did this in late September so it wasn’t as busy
The view from above the clouds is just incredible. Thank you 🙏
Imagine training for years, becoming a prime example of human fitness and mental strength. Saying goodbye to your family to conquer your goals.and spending alot of money to finally be able to climb Mount everest.
Then, just before you hit the top, a polish man skis past you.
😂😂😂
Skiis? I thought Red Bull gave you wings. 🪽
@thegurem who you telling
12:41
When he passed me up I'd think to myself ''Hell yea, a new goal after this one''
This is literally the most reckless and dangerous stunt i have ever seen in my life. Its "video game" level of insane, and its an honor to witness this on sunday morning.
I do not know if to admire the bravery and courage and skill and perseverence or to codemn the foolishness and danger and risk-taking and vanity and pride
It was life-death situation all the time
It's still Saturday where I am. 😄
@tj-co9goHis life. I'm sure he's aware of the dangers.
@GeneralMig no one can fully grasp the danger until they're dead
@m_333-lfg I’ll be on Monday in an hour and half 😂
"what did u do this weekend"
Andrzej: "Not much, went skiing"
It's probably more like "what did you do the last two months?" - Because it involves getting acclimatized, which takes weeks, walking in to base camp, preparing the camp chain for the ascent (remember this is out of season), waiting for the ideal weather, and whatnot...
But you have a point, such extreme performance and taking such extreme risks is not possible without *lots* of confidence and nerves of steel.
@IngoSchwarze it was a joke dude
Yes put things in perspective😎
Andrej died recently...
@jonaskarlsson5901 he probably knows that and is just tryna share some info to his fellow humans online
Это разве человек??? Невероятно❤❤❤
These were the greatest shots of Mount Everest in recorded history
Thats debatable
@ItWasAI how did they even get these shots I thought a helicopter can’t even fly that high
@rootvalley2 I imagine a drone would be able to
@rootvalley2 Drones most likely
@rootvalley2 helicopters cant fly up there for human safety reasons, a drone will be fine
I'd absolutely watch a full documentary just about the logistics of planning this
for real, how'd he get the mountain to himself to do this?! It's normally clogged with climbers nowadays
Want to see that!!
There’s a reason this has never been done until now
If he wasn’t wearing a red bull helmet which had to be included in almost every shot - it would be more impressive, this way it feels it was done just for money, a commercial…
Okay okay I'll buy your energy drinks man you have successfully convinced me no need to do this.
I'm all emotional and sh! After watching this, and your comment literally made me laugh out loud so f***ng hard.
I also feel i have to now
🤣🤣🤣🤣😅😅😂😂best comment yet
No matter who they send I'm not buying energy drink with the worst taste to price ratio.
honestly tho props to them for funding this
Easily the best RedBull video to date
These are the best shots of Everest I've ever seen.
Redbull gets the best video people and spends a fortune on the setups
@Devan-he4kr such a majestic mountain. Meanwhile K2 looks like an evil fortress
by far. so so good. what a great tour of the whole route.
So watch the summit video of Ryan Mitchell, there you’ll have a video of the real whole summit experience ;)
Any info on them using the drone to navigate him through it?
It was terrifying watching this from the comfort of my home.
I nearly had a heartattack!
A nail biter for sure. I had to keep reminding myself to breathe.
Second watch and my heart flips at the 10 minute mark of his fall.
@GodsCommandmentsAreTruth that certainly counts! Having followed several dozen attempts it’s great watch him ski down those same slopes.
@davew5161 what do you mean 🤔
this looks like the most stressful thing I could ever imagine doing on purpose
becoming a parent seems way scarier
cave diving is worse
You can only conclude that doing this was really his dream. So much time preparing for this, knew the INSANE risks and still did it anyway.
@lsixty30 I was a parent at 25. It's definitely not.
@paulklp8262 I guess you’re just selfish 😅
Im watching this in amazement thinking this guy is skiing down mount everest, then it hits me, he just climbed it 🤯 unbelievable achievement 👏
It’s so hard to overstate how crazy this is. This man had a solid chance of dying doing this.
I’m worried for his heart and brain 😅
@reveredryan6233 you don't say!
I mean, he looked like a zombie the whole time... and sounded like one. I can't imagine this is good for the human body.
I agree!! This is insane. What is Everest 5.5 miles up? It seems like he is literally sking above the clouds forever. You can hear it in his breathing. Absolutely mind boggling to me.
Did he wave to the dead bodies as he passed by?
Redbull stealing the crown from both Guinness World Records and National Geographic in one video.
damn, you're probably right
Guinness fell off so hard. Anyone take them serious anymore?
What exactly are you referring to?
@have_a_good_day420 Lolll 😂
SO MUCH POWER BEHIND THIS COMMENT
I trekked to basecamp and thought I was dying, people dont understand the level of endurance, patience and dedication it takes to ascend to this altitude, let alone when you get there have the energy in your legs and consciousness to be able to navigate down. UNreal
So it's fake, it's far beyond humans' physical ability
@ferrismesser ❄️
Who doesn't understand?
The trek to BC is exhausting even for a lot of the climbers. Don't be too down, you put in the work and it's definitely possible to get to the 8000m level.
Omg
Absolutely insane without oxygen bro
Loved the way they kept it raw and simple. No text-book drama, no crazy transitions, no crazy music. It felt like, you were part of the journey in IRL.
@onecreativeman no transitions? You must have missed the heckload of time vanishing between camp 4 and 2 then.
And thanks DJI.
@onecreativeman yeah man, that's the right way to do It 😍❤️, i honestly could use a longer version... Like 5 hours not gonna lie 🤣
@SuspiciousIguana True. At one point it seemed like he spent several hours sitting at one sport, then there was a shot of him getting the lights out and suddenly he was in another camp.
@onecreativeman tell us you didn’t watch the whole video without telling us you didn’t watch the whole video. There was music, there were lots of cuts
People have no idea how insane this really is. Climbing Everest without oxygen is already legendary. Clipping into skis at the top and skiing back down through the Death Zone is beyond sport - it’s pure human insanity and courage in one video.
@mike6547 and you do?
woulda been more impressive the other way around though
And yet still not near as challenging as completing Halo 2 LASO Deathless
@numberonedad I feel like I would only go down in skis otherwise I'd want one of those round sleds to lay on
@numberonedad I'll follow, u lead
99.9% of people, myself included, do not understand how impressive this feat is.
Very, very impressive. Kind of like jumping over the Grand Canyon on a rocket powered motorcycle. Impressive, but probably not terribly smart. Glad he made it.
i'm part of the 0.1% then, i saw his descent of K2 first and now this. He's crazy
@kaelbennett6861 I just finished "into thin air" believe me I appreciate the feat
@kaelbennett6861 impressive sure but also incredibly stupid but I guess that’s the point of red bull
I see the "no oxygen" thing and i'm like wtf. Isn't going up and down mt everest enough?
Saya hanya menonton saja sudah ikut "berdebar"
Butuh nyali super
Salut buat buat tim
This was not achievable without those brave Sherpas. Hats off to all those Sherpas from the land of the Himalayas. Congratulations, Andrezej. You did a fantastic job.
too bad none of them decided to ski down, they could have had this record decades ago
@CStoph1979 no but many off them save lives on at height of 8000m by carrying trackers on their soilders to the safe land.
@sushilkakrdi2716 It is achievable without sherpas... Its not likely but absolutely is achievable.
@CStoph1979for them it was never about achievement or validation. They are simple ppl. Its for survival they do it.
@kailasm you missed my point
TBH what scared me the most was not the skiing itself or the location rather how utterly tired he was, u could tell just from how he skied.
Likely on super lightweight sketchy af boots and skis too
@zknarc no wonder he fell near the top then. them things can change direction way too easily
You could tell that if he just took a break for slightly too long, he was falling asleep and not waking up again. Pretty unpleasant to listen to tbh.
You do know he is out of breath constantly because of the lack of oxygen there is that high up
100% I bet 15:21 hurt bad
That one unemployed friend on a Wednesday
1 day ago and you have over 500 likes, the algorithm is an enigma
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Pretty sure hes on Redbull Payroll.
@lucidial14 Why does that seem to bother you so much?
@9teeneighty4 i didnt say it bothers me, just expressing my thoughts. if anything, it amuses me
Amazing achievement! Congratulations,Andrzej!
imagine you're climbing mt everest and then just see a dude skiing down, that's a major humble
I'd go back down I'm quiting
Or you think you are hallucinating.
😂😂😂. Dieeeeemmmmm.
I was once near the top of a 10,000 ft. mountain with my girlfriend in Arizona in 1973 when a young man, probably in his mid 20's, approached us and asked for spare change...lol.
@willieluncheonette5843 Did you give him some? 🤣
Sherpa's are no joke either, 6000 m in and wearing a small coat drinking a coffee like any other morning.
@lemachinator jajajajaja claro ,eso sería hace 80 años
@lemachinator they’re literally built different it’s crazy they’re some elite humans
W speed
Imagine them running marathons, In fact why don't they run
Yes. Came for this comment.
Brother you’re already skiing down Everest you don’t have to do it without any oxygen too. You’re the actual man.
I feel like going up should have been faster with the effect of gravity on his massive balls
@ezze7540 wut
@ezze7540 air pressure is wildly different 8000m up. Hypoxia is very common, let alone the temperature
@ezze7540 so in other words you have no idea what hypoxia is?
@ezze7540 gee, I wonder how you'd do up there then? Not even moving around or anything, just staying there without an oxygen tank for a couple hours in clothes to protect you from the cold
Respect for all the planning, coordination, teamwork, and editing that made the physical feat possible. Perfection.
This is like watching a horror movie
I'm a pretty good skier, nothing I've done or seen has gotten my heart rate up......at least compared to this.
This is insane.
@noahhurley-abelew6536 agree 100%. I think you need to be a skier to know this is absolutely insane.
I’m not a skier nor have I ever tried I live in the south USA but this is absolutely breath taking my heart was pumping most of this video. Id love to ski one day
@FelipeArthurferpa lmao
Bro just casually gets to the top of Mount Everest and then starts skiing down it 3 minutes later
Trust me, bro.
Without oxygen it's not really recommended to start spending time on top. Most people start the descent within 15 minutes anyways. Also, do we know if there were cuts, which could mean he actually spent more time up there?
@RonaiHenrik im p sure the advice would be to take a pic then ski down immediately since hes doing it without oxygen.. it is deadly
@willytilly25 that’s what I said. I even went back to double check the time again 😂
Davo Karnicar was first to ski it, Marco Siffredi snowboarded down it long time ago. This aint no worlds first
That first shot heading down the mountain is one of the most amazing shots I've ever seen
@bcty11 💯
@bcty11 agreed. I’m in my home by myself and even said ‘wow’ out loud!
@bcty11 time stamp?
@echospacez probably 2:49
@echospacez2:50
Andrzej, Very proud of you. Your determination in avoiding cervases and gently gliding down is so nice. A big salute. I have been to EBC myself and I truly appreciate your effort. God bless you. 🫡
This is one of the most insane things any human has ever done and we have it in 4k.
I brushed my tooth today
@thefacelessone74 tooth 😭😭
bro its not the most, by far not
Damn....I wish we had it in 8K.
@boulder_err You know, you've gotta start somewhere. One tooth at a time.
Respect to the guy sitting on his shoulders filming all this.
😂😂
머리에 장착한 액션캠으로 촬영한 영상이죠^
@NikNikitiuk dude, it's a gopro
@LukeLainey it’s a joke
@hongjini it was a joke
@donald-dudu это точно👍😃🤝
good chance its an actual helo up there filming
@daniell1869 actually no chance of that
@donald-dudu funny isnt it the cameras are soo good but once they go to space turn into megapixels 😂
To be honest, I thought he could do with another body worn camera without so much of a fish eye lens but I still agree with you on how far tech as come.
amazing
I bet that sip of redbull after all that was a straight up gut punch and the literal last thing his body needed
@Max_Chooch maybe not the incans would chew on cocain leaves to treat altitude sickness. A higher blood pressure means a highrr flow of blood in a healthy person which mean more oxygen to vital parts of the body.
It’s usually water. Even though the can says and looks like a redbull.
Redbull gives you wings... okay but what if you already feel like you have wings (lightheaded)? Dont want literal ones lol.
Naw it has vitamins, totally fine lol
It's caffeine lil bro, calm down
The lengths people go to for "fresh tracks"... Insane 🔥
Andrzej earnt his turns 😎
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
except that this wasn't original or a first... Yuichiro Miura did this in 1970, with 1960's tech.... so, there's that.....
@redbull fraud fraud fraud......... Yuichiro Miura did this in 1970, with 1960's tech.... so, there's that.....
i just know, Tom Crusie is watching this video griding his teeth in jealousy
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😅😅😅
@THATGUYY-69 Tom is such a legend, if he was 10 years younger he would probably try it.
@TheMilkMan555 Yikes, that was a roast
All those cuts, who knows how many breaks this guy got to suck in a few tanks before filming again. The faint steady heavy breathing noise consistently throughout the video is quite comical. He spent 17 hrs in an area he could easily ski down from? So many discrepancies 😂
He's a professional skier and struggling a lot...
Amazing footage
Do Not Try This at Home .
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Not to take away from this incredible achievement but I was totally expecting him to just absolutely send it down the mountain in a speed run 😂
@WhatchaWalkinAbout same
@WhatchaWalkinAbout same…. Kinda slow
@ChoeDave lmao y’all thought Everest was a cone from geometry class or something 😂
@partiallyparkerhahaha nah clearly its a monster and extremely dangerous anyway you look at it but still part of ya just wants to see him send it from the top to base camp in 5 minutes 😆😆
Given how much and how frequently the surface of the mountain changes, I don't think it would be viable for speedrunning
When a video starts with summiting the Everst, something unbelievable is going to happen in the other 30 minutes
This has got to be the most stupid Red Bull video ever. 5km/h skying down Mount Everest. It would be much harder do that by foot!
@YouSurfin you do it then
Why I thought that he gonna come all the down in one go😭
@YouSurfin no, you must imagine what his ankles are going through to keep those skis aligned to where he needs lol, i bet he was aching
@YouSurfin it’s much easier to fall on skis, that’s why he’s the worlds first lol
WHO IN THE HELL WOULD THIN....
Oh, it is Redbull. Never mind.
In 10 years time you will see a clown driving down the mount everest backwards on a unicycle juggling some balls. But since it is red bull no one will bat an eye.🤣
except that this wasn't original or a first... Yuichiro Miura did this in 1970, with 1960's tech.... so, there's that.....
@AfroDan9000 except that this wasn't original or a first... Yuichiro Miura did this in 1970, with 1960's tech.... so, there's that.....
@bendalton5221 and yet here you are being a keyboard warrior. Also you're not very good at reading huh?
@bendalton5221 he had supplemental oxygen so, there's that.......
The fact a drone is able to capture and fly at 9k meters is a accomplishment
This is what RUclips was made for - witnessing peak human conditioning and unbelievable feats of courage. Thank you for capturing such a legendary moment for all of us to marvel at!
@britishkamikaze exactly my thoughts.
@britishkamikaze and cat videos
erm actually RUclips was originally a dating platform until 20n yrs ago the"at the zoo" video was posted
Facts
No, no, no ... this channel is a propaganda channel for dangerous, insane activities.
Ok. I need atleast a 2 hour movie about the logistics of this. Mindblowing feat
same here man..the breathing sound felt like something hans zimmer made
I’d pay to see it
He just climbed it with a nimble Asian carrying all his stuff, then went down it at 2mph pizza style, hyperventilating while epic music plays.
Y’all are too easily impressed. The fact redbull spent millions on this for him to never surpass 10mph is embarrassing.
He never broke 5mph. This was a waste and not cool at all.
@samb202 sybau you’ll never accomplish anything relatively close to what he has. Yet you came here to complain.
I appreciate living in a time where we have such technology to show this with such a sharp, clear image. This is what they should play on TVs for sale at stores
It is way more interesting that what's going on anywhere else!
And for us to be able to see it from the comfort of our beds while they take the risk LOL 😭
10:17 I thought he was super human until this fall. To put it into perspective, if he'd dislocated his knee which is easy to do in skiis, no helicopter could come help rescue at that altitude. Mad lad! Glad he made it down safely ♥
red bull: we also make drinks....
Yep just dont drink it!
@BartoszBanachewicz exactly
Technically speaking, if I never buy RedBull, does this mean the video is being subsidized for me by the actual buyers? In that case thanks lol.
@BartoszBanachewiczthanks for this info...
What’s even crazier then this is the sherpas like “speed” it’s like a 9-5 job for him, like he wakes up in the morning and is like “ohhh man gotta climb Everest again, I hate mondays”
@whiskeytangofoxtrot5939 WTF underrated post.
@whiskeytangofoxtrot5939 not to mention his return trail is trashed lol
That Sherpa just waiting for him at the top at the beginning of the video had me laughing. Sherpa likely carried all their gear up there too. It takes months to climb Everest, I genuinely hope Redbull didn't screw them out of a fat bag.
@GUILLOTINE_GANGAnd the sherpa is using oxygen...he is not. So the sherpa has an advantage. The other guy is touching it out and trying to make history.
@QuitCryingYouLosttoughing it out lol... does that include the part where the Sherpa helped him carry his gear up the path for over a month?
Not to take away anything from this awesome feat but can we thank the amazing Sherpas for helping climbers.
Alot less impressive when you think about the thousands of sherpas who body boarded their way down thousands of years ago
Sherpas are the climbers the people you call climbers are not
@inyasantosantolin some are tho, like this guy
@inyasantosantolin also there are other Nepali ethnic groups that does the sherpa's job, not talked enough
@jaya1000 Sherpas didnt climb Mount Everest before westerners did it lmao
That is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen someone do!
60% cinema
30% tense music
10% heavy breathing
ITS NOT REAL ITS AI
@jackguily5585 why are you screaming that it's ai? it should be a verifiable feat.
It sounds so simple :D
@jackguily5585 Keep dreaming, kid!
@DanyFive_ 0% oxygen
No oxygen is just absolutly insane. I thought it was just no oxygen for the decent, but doing the decent after 18 hours at that altitude is wild. that first day is so terrifying to watch
Not possible without oxygen
You have access to Google, you know that right? @gwen8859
Andrzej Bargiel just earned every bit of respect I could find. I looked around for more but there was none
I just started watching but... the first day??
there's multiple days??
But that was still like skiing a beginner's bunny slope compared to this.
be that as it may be, this whole thing seems a bit unnecessary.
The degree of difficulty defies reason. He may have had coaching from a drone, but he was totally alone. Any big mistake and he is dead.
@pnydu “Unnecessary”… as you are?
@pnydu just like your comment?
Süper bir performans. Hayalimi gerçekleştirdin. Kutluyorum…
This isn't thrilling like other Red Bull stunts. It's grueling, and terrifying. But it's probably more impressive than any of the others I've seen. The scale of the task is incredible...
I would love to watch it on IMAX
It’s making me emotional watching this it’s mind blowing
@olivere5497 "I mudwrestled the devil in the seventh circle of hell (universal first)"
@aidenless3479 idk Felix Baumgartner was pretty thrilling, grueling and terrifying
inspirational beyond words
Would love to see how he trained his lungs. 18 hours in the death zone is INSANE.
@Bulldog23636 definitely used oxygen to get up there lungs can only take so much before permanent damage is left
You should see the full length film.....lasts for hours and hours
@PlantbasedRunners Hmm, where can you see it?
Slept with a pillow on his face and wore a thick scarf over his mouth the rest of the time. Easy.
@simonbridges3835 easy? 🤣
This is what RUclips is supposed to be about. No AI slop, no clickbait, no inane internet challenges, no loud screaming personality trying to game your attention span-just a person doing something incredible because he had an insane idea, and he wanted to share his vision with the world.
I want this feeling back, don't you?
well written comment with a goated take…you better hide from me
Oct 7 2000 Davor Karnicar of Slovenia was first person to ski down Mt Everest
This is literally the exact opposite of what youtube was supposed to be. It is for people to upload videos shot in their backyard, not something of this scale that probably had millions of dollars behind it.
@KreemyNull you didn't read the title did you
You didn’t see the cgi snow fall they put towards the beginning 😢 it’s pretty sad actually .. plus all the fisheye camera angles to try and make it look more dangerous smh super corny 😢
I wish they didn’t use a fish eye lens when they had the perspective of the skier. I love this video. I’ve done a lot of backcountry skiing brings me back.
31:00 I guarantee you, a can of Red Bull is probably the LAST thing he wants to drink in that moment 😂
@TexasFoldEm- I disagree. His body is probably starving for easily accessible sugars after the exhausting climb, lugging those massive lead balls up the mountain. and then supporting them suspended between his legs after they shrivel up from the cold. keeping them from dragging on the rocks below
Probably hell on his thighs, glutes, calves
All of those are going to want something to eat right away, followed by proper nutrition as soon as he can find a warm meal
@TexasFoldEm- apparently they make cans with just water inside for these shots.
Redbull is just a drink dont be afraid my son
@antoniuscaliber818, it's garbage, dont fall for the marketing crap. 😂
@TexasFoldEm- he looked like he had to talk himself into taking a sip for a second there 😂
12:27 When he arrives at camp four after 18 hours in the Death Zone and just says "Need something eat," he must've been the most exhausted person on the planet in that moment.
Shout out to Red Bull and Andrez for giving the sherpas work and paying them well
Then he just magically shows up at camp 2. I know it got dark but why cut all the footage?
@kraigbarrett7483 I think at that point he had to swap his camera for a headlamp.
@kraigbarrett7483 I think that he put the camera into his backpack to put a light on his helmet, so they didn't have any footage. That or it was too dark to look good.
This was breathtaking. An absolute cinematic masterpiece. Congrats to Andrzej and team for making this happen.
Literally breathtaking
@orrindavies ah ha!
You're breathtaking!
@orrindavies I see what you did here
Great Skiing !
When he fell and was basically hyperventilating on the ground. My God, I felt that in my bones.
Time?
@andrewlittman 10:16
Same!!! Seen so many people just hyperventilate like that and then they just slump over. This was insane to watch, bravo.
same thought the worst
@estebanflores1427 when he had to wait 1-2 mins for his blood pressure to come down from 200 made it so real
Crazy to think that he almost fell in MULTIPLE caves.
How does he avoid them? I think that would freak me out the most
@patrickdoyle85 he is guided by the drone
dont worry he had a stack of torches and ladders in his inventory
@DualityofMan100 yeah. That moment he drops the stick and is reaching in with the other was terrifying. And then he had 2 more in literally the next 63 seconds alone going down that collapsed route was just the worst. And then he had like 3 more and a cliff 20 seconds after that. The weight of his balls must've kept him weighed down enough to stop in time
@jaryncovell2538 Ik bro I was on the edge of my seat the whole video😂
I like stuff like this more than horror movies it’s suspenseful even tho they have endless funds to save him if anything were to happen😂
Imagine giving everything you have to climb Mount Everest, and along the entire way up to the summit, there are ski tracks.
@OneRoundCube Good thing, as humans.. We can make choices, and my choice is to never climb Mount Everest.
@OneRoundCube I think it would be either incredibly motivating, or cripplingly defeating to see lol
@OneRoundCube wenn sie keine Spuren des Vorgänger sehen möchten. Ist der Mount Everest der falsche Berg.
Imagine giving $20 to a ski resort because you can't carry your skis a little further when this guy climbed Everest with his 🤣🤣🤣
I still dont understand why they re not building a gondola to the top. This would be one of the most profitable gondola ever made ! At 100 000$ a ticket there would still be thousands of people who would pay.
