A choral version of "The Sacred War" (also known as "Arise Great Country!"). This particular tune is one of the most famous songs that is associated with the Soviet Union during the Second World WAR. The song was written by Vasily Lebedev-Kumach and composed by Alexander Alexandrov, the same man responsible for the State Hymn of the USSR along with other patriotic songs within the USSR during the Second World War.
This is probably the best version of sacred war that represents the fact that it is truly, a fight to the death.
The calm hummings at the beginning represents the struggle of resisting the German invasion as they're pushed back.
Then the middle part where the lyrics are sung, it symbolise the Soviets slowly gaining momentum and repelled the invasion, and chased the fascist agressors all the way to Berlin.
And finally, the last part, where the hummings start again, it represents the losses and sacrifices made, and what they have contributed to the ultimate victory

Sorry to say but the song was composed one week after the Nazi invasion began, so it wouldn’t have been made with those messages.

Can anyone explain the scene on the painting? It looks like a gallows... women mourning...
What the painting really means is when suspected partisans are being hanged mostly by the warden SS and when the Soviets came and liberated they lowered the hanged body of the innocent soviet partisan and their wife or mother came mourning the loss of their son,brother,husband but in my opinion they are heroes who died for their motherland and the sad version is singed by the soldiers women and surviving partisans
There is obviously Soviet tank and bodies under gallows, that don't look fresh. I think Soviets liberated the place, found gallows and cut the ropes
Painting is "Atrocities in Rechytsa
" by Petr Krivonogov, and AFAIK portrays liberation of Rechytsa by Belorussian Front at November 18, 1943, and returning bodies of citizens, executed by retreating Wehrmacht, to families. Name refers to mass-murders carried by Germans. In November 1941, all 3000 Jews remaining in Rechytsa - making ~1/10th of total population of town - was killed. Another two thousand people (according to russian Wiki, claiming number of victims at 5000 total) were killed between 1941 and 1943, probably due to suspected connetions to partisants; overall, 1/6th of population perished in 25 months of occupation.

@@t_hnsn868 Both sides would have been killed by the Nazis though. Fascist or not because of the stance on slavs in the Reich, both would get the gas but the reds would surely get it worse.
