Look at his fingering, which makes each notes sound as it shoud sound without sustain pedals. What makes his play outstanding is this so examined fingering, and that is one reason that he can play so fast without mistake. Most people overlook his intelligence and cautiousness, saying his deep respects to Bach.
I tend to feel that anyone who doesn't like Gould's Bach either doesn't like Bach, or fails to appreciate the huge issues with electing to play his works on the piano, and instrument for which they were not written - issues to which Gould's sometimes radical approach offers solutions.
Ho sempre apprezzato Gould.
Thanks for calling attention to his fingering. I found it very interesting when I observed it, unlike any I had seen before…not that I’m an advanced pianist.
Bach è la purezza della musica assoluta.

you know. glen gould said (on recod!) that ROSALYN TURECK was his biggest influence...
I didn’t expect such a super slow tempo, this is a sign of a romantic style... Bravo, Gould!

Was it just me or was that chair creaking?
Much prefer Tureck, or Vikingur.
