- Ep#1 of Forts of India: The #Chittor Fort or Chittorgarh Fort in Rajasthan is one of the largest forts in India. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort was the capital of #Mewar and is located in the present-day town of Chittor. It sprawls over a hill 180 m in height spread over an area of 280 ha above the plains of the valley drained by the #Berach River.

This 25 minutes documentary/episode is more meaningful and beautiful than, the almost 3 hours long Padmaavat. DD is the most sensible broadcaster of India. A true GEM.

जैम्मल-पता गरजीया, राणा उदे री ठौड़।
कल्लाजी रौ न्यारो जस, गावे ओ चितौड़।।
आज़ादी री अलख जगायी, छौड़नें आ ठौड़।
प्रताप रौ जस गौरव है, जूग़ जूग़ सूँ चितौड़।।
ख़िलजी नें अकबरिया रे, राख नी आयी हाथ।
मिनख मराया आपरा, नम्यो न मेवाड़ी नाथ।।
हिंदुस्थान रौ मान है ओ, गढ़ में गढ़ चितौड़।

It was not only capital of Shivaji Maharaj, but was also called Gibraltar of East due to its impregnability.

nice fort. especially the 2 towers. maharana kumbha was the greatest ruler of mewar. He was a great warrior builder patron of art and architecture. no other ranas of mewar can't be compared with rana kumbha's achievement.
