The collar on this one looks cheap to me, like a takedown model. I’ve thought that since the superfly 6. The older collars on the Obra 1 and 2 and the superfly 4 and 5 were really nice quality.
I miss the footage of you actually lacing up (with SR4U Replacement laces ofc) and putting the boots on. Was actually quite helpful and enjoyable to watch

They just need to kill of the superfly for a couple of years until they find or make a new upper/technology that makes it significantly different from the vapor.
@@AN-filmandmusic honestly they should just take the exact template of the vapor 10 and use that. They just need to update the sole plate and graphics then it’s good lol.
I love this colourway, but I recently bought a pair of Mercurial Superfly Pro DF FG Junior Football Boots and they are so badly fitted. They are way too loose, and I got the size I got in a previous iteration of the Superfly. The collar is no longer fitted, it's loose and the whole boot is too big. Lazy is right.
1. That spine - all it does is trap a lot of mud which is a pain to clean out 2. I took James very seriously regarding the the Superfly vs Vapor differentiation. So now I have the Superfly 7 and the Vapor 14 which is best of both worlds! (though the only reason I had picked up the superfly 7 over the vapor 13 in the first place was that I actually found a higher discount, and thus lower final price) on the Superflies. The collar does nothing and makes it more difficult to put on)
Like Josh said, Nike should make a thin synthetic vapour and a knitted superfly. They should make two different boots which will give customers two different sensations whilst playing.
Dear Nike please make the following : 1) Superfly 4 - upper but with vapor 13 laces 2) please add vapor 13 heel liner 3) add vapor 13 sole plate but make it the same size and shape as the superfly 4 Perfect boot !
I would like to see a low cut synthetic vapor and a low cut knitted superfly. They both should have flywire cables and the Superfly's soleplate should be a mix of glass fiber and carbon fiber with a new stud pattern. The superfly should be lighter but both should weigh from 150 to 175 grams in a size 9 us. The superlfy's knitted upper should have either a vapor 9's or a hypervenom phantom's texture on it's knitted upper. They should abandon the mid-cut design all together and make it wrap around your foot like a flyknit ultra.
I tell you what, I’m a football 🏈 kicker and these boots are my go to for kicking. The way it grips your foot feels like your kicking the ball barefoot. When worn down after awhile the boot really becomes a sock like boot. I will say that the only problem I have with them is that when worn down the insole becomes uncomfortable. In my experience my feet start to crap. But other than that the boot is a perfect kicking boot and I recommend them to any football 🏈 kickers out there. Go grab yourself a pair...
the ankle collar does not provide any kind of ankle stability or support, but I do find that it helps greatly in the lockdown feeling of the boot. my heel doesn't slide nearly as much in Superflys as it does in Vapors, my foot feels very secure in the Superflys and that definitely has to do with the ankle collar
Honestly I cannot bring myself to move past the Superfly VI/ Vapor XII. I feel like they had the perfect combination of Flexibility/Grip/Comfort. The newer ones make more sense in the fact the Vapor is originally about speed and lockdown but the Superfly VI seemed like a perfected Hypervenom and I LOVE THAT!
Here’s an idea what if to make them different they make one of them have a fly knit upper like the vapor 13/superfly 7. That way they have an actual difference
I agree. they should use different materials and make them different. If the only difference is the length of the collar then there really is no need for them to have different names. Try Superfly and Superfly+
Im gonna buy these bc the superfly was always the best boot for me. I dont realy like the colourway, so im gonna wait for others. And I had a Vapor model also and the sock is realy important for me. Im just feeling more in the boot
This was a huge chance to bring FlyPrint into the spotlight. Maybe it wasn’t ready for primetime or there was something else. But ever since the Air Zoom Mercurial was teased I’ve been dying to see FlyPrint on a Nike boot. The Superfly used to mean something in the Mercurial line. It was something that was over the top and cool. Now its just a flyknit collar. The Vapor Superfly 1 is still the coolest boot ever in my opinion despite it’s flaws. My favorite Mercurial is the Vapor 8 for what it’s worth. Loved the super thin and super soft teijin upper, deep lacing system, the narrow cut, with the glass-fiber sole plate. They looked and felt great. Well maybe except when you got stepped on. My least favorite was the Superfly 5, had major issues with the fit in the heel in that boot. Felt too shallow and the liner was pretty slick. Very underwhelming.
Honestly, I don't get it why it is so hard to accept that vapor and superfly are almost the same shoe. The price tells itself that there isn't much difference. Change is just too hard for some people to accept...
Hey, love all your content, been watching your videos for a long time. Would love to see you do the review on feet however with touches on the ball too. That would be awesome
Since I’ve already posted a longer comment with the podcast, I’ll keep it short here. I completely agree Joshimus. Nike’s issue isn’t solely with the mercurial line though, I think their overall strategy is a bit in the wind at the moment, and the people at Nike need to take a serious look at what’s going on. With the variety of technologies they have at hand, there’s no reason not to have a well-defined lineup of 4-5 boots, each with a distinct design identity.
yeah the superfly should have been just an upgraded version of the last generation, they spent all that time perfecting the flyknit and they did that with the superfly 7, it seems an awful waste to then throw all that tech out, i personally would have been happy if they gave us the superfly 7 upper with the new sole plate
Superfly 8 was so bad. I bought a size down which was too tight and my usual size was too big. The upper was too rigid. Couldn't last 5 minutes on the pitch. A serious downgrade from 7.
Why did you take out the part when your putting on the boots I really liked that part can you bring it back and especially for the predator freak + review pls
Nike seems to roll out boots with features they're testing for a future boot down the line. My thought is that the next superfly will have tenacity yarn 2.0 and next vapor will be vaporposite 2.0
just broke my fifth metatarsal in the left foot using these boots. Debating wether I should wear different ones when I return. Although they were custom and I just bought them 😭
Josh I know you feel the mid-cut is gimmick though just a note; I have a super narrow foot and ankle. I’ve always had issues where by I roll over my ankle though the mid cut boots somehow have helped avoid this completely. It might just be because I am essentially wearing another elastic-type sock in addition to my soccer sock ? Maybe yes/ maybe no. It makes a great difference for me though. :)
What boot should i get in 2022 if i want a replica feel of hyper-venom phantom II? As i cant find that model anymore and need new cleats preferably nike with sock needed it to be wide like phantom 2
I think Nike were working on the next superfly (9) since the superfly 7 because they said that they were working on the 7s since some time so they just put the 8s just for some more time working on the 9s
Josh can you please review some of NIVIA football cleats. It's an indian brand and is very famous within india. I know that they don't stand a chance in comparison with all the other top brands in terms of quality and technology but I think they do have some chances in value for money criteria as they are very very very cheap( 17 euros for top model and 6 euros for cheapest models, cheapest ones are like counterfeit ones but top models are good in my opinion) but do have structure unlike the counterfeit boots. I request you to review some of their boots or only one. If it's possible for you please review them.
I bought the new superflys FG and after playing my foot had some weird preasure points. Could that be because of the anathomical soleplate or that I am using FG boots on AG?
Nike unfortunately can’t just be petty and be pissed at Josh for telling the truth. 3 generations of Mercurials in and the vapor/superfluous are still basically the same thing. Best thing Nike should have done is do what they did with the hypervenoms 4 years ago by naming phantom low and phantom DF
