Pooh Sticks is the game Pooh and Christopher Robin play. You stand on a bridge and drop sticks off one side into the water then see which one comes out the other side first.
One morning, I was in the crowd along the Rivers of America, listening to the pirate band that used to play sea shanties there. After one song, they suddenly got “angry” looks on their faces and started complaining about the ship coming around with the laziest crew that ever sailed the seven seas. We turned to see the Columbia gliding past, the deck full of guests. The people leaning on the railing saw us looking at them and looked around, wondering what we were staring at. Meanwhile, we kept gawking and laughing as the pirates cursed the sailors for their bad habits and destroyed their reputations. Who would ever kidnap them for their crews (no one!), they deserved to have an eternal curse placed upon them, and the like. 😂😂😂 Best morning ever! I’m glad you didn’t fall in with that crew
It's amazing, in today's litigious society, that they don't make everyone wear lifejackets in the canoe. And yes, they are actual canoes, but I'm sure they have a current flow in the river that assists your journey. Watching you on the Pontoon Bridge was worth the price of admission.
I love the old school Disneyland attractions! So glad you were able to explore more. out of the way things like the Pirate's Lair. They closed the fort for Fantasmic storage. I miss it. And yes- I can vouch for the fact we do indeed power those little canoes. You find out when you are one of only 3 other adults on the boat and you and the other two have to do the majority of the work when the kids poop out!!
Pooh Stix is a game Pooh and his friends played, where they all dropped sticks on one side of the bridge, and then whoever's stick made it under the bridge to the other side first, Wins!
I've never been to Disneyland, but Tom Sawyer Island is my favorite spot in Disney World. Maybe it's the extraordinary mellow vibe of it, maybe it's because I read Tom Sawyer at a very impressionable age, but I could have stayed there all day. And I agree with Jacob that the world today does suck, however it sucks a little less because he's in it.
Omg!!!! I'm an artist and I have your video on in the background to keep me company while I work, and I cannot wait to finish my work and savor this video!!!! You rareltvsee videos of Old timey disney!!!!! Thank you Jacob!!!!
A scuttlebutt is what the navy calls a drinking fountain. Where they sleep is called berthing spaces where they cook the food is called the galley and the bathroom is called the head because going back in the age of sail the bathroom was located at the front of the ship and today even though bathrooms are located in different parts of modern ships because they got bigger they're still traditionally called heads and the hospital is called sick bay.
Hi Jacob I worked the canoes during a summer as a cast member there is no track or motor on the canoes the guest are the motor your one handed technique was fun 😂😂
According to Wikipedia the canoes are truly free-floating and people-powered, which means they can vary in their speed and exact route pretty easily. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davy_Crockett_Explorer_Canoes
It's nice to see dead man's grotto back open. Seems like it was closed for a long time. FYI, Justin Scarred has never been on the canoes in all the times he's been to Disneyland. You are one up on him now. 😊
I agree with you Jacob, about the Magic at Disneyland! I don’t really care for Disney world. Its so big and over whelming to me! I grew up going to Disneyland! Know the park inside and out! Loved seeing you on Tom swayers Island ! It’s so fun over there
Thank you for your post. Disneyland is great. Disney World is actually my "home" resort but I do try to get to Disneyland from time to time to enjoy the rides, like Mr. Toad, Indiana Jones, the Haunted Mansion holiday overlay, etc., that are not available at Disney World. I should try the canoes. I haven't done those yet. I hope Jen is feeling okay and had this as a planned rest day as opposed to it becoming a mandatory rest day (because her body said so). 😟🙁 Safe travels.
For a completely different experience at Disneyland you should try the "Keys To The Kingdom" Tour and go through the tunnels underneath D-Land known as the Utilidors.
Thanks for always making me smile jacob.im James live in florida.been on channel for about 6 years.hey have you been to gaterland,or adventure land.i know FL. Has a lot of roadside attractions.😊..take you , OH,hope jenn ok..😊
Morning Jacob 🤓📸 I think ur going solo don't see Jenny Penny in the video, but it's Good you show us what others that go to Disney don't show like classic rides. Adam goes heck of a lot to Disney lol thanks for sharing this, u take care my friend.
Love the video, as always Jacob. Just had ONE question. What was that annoying whistling throughout the treehouse walkthrough? It must have been a kid with a toy right? I can't imagine they would add something that constant and annoying as part of the attraction... Or, at least I hope they wouldn't... ANYWAY! It's been a minute since I interacted other than liking. So I just wanted to pop in and say hey! Happy Holidays! And as always, I will be looking forward to the next one. You and Jenny take care!🛸
24:50 the faces you make over that bridge are PRICELESS!🤣🤣🤣
Here I am at 4am watching Jacob riding carrousel because he's too cool
I love seeing parts of Disney that most people don't make videos of! Thank you!
What fun! Anyone else start singing? “Davey, Davey Crockett, King of the wild frontier.” 😂😂
one of my favorite !

I love old school Disneyland!
The barrel bridge looked treacherous 😮Fun boat rides😊 Great actor for Johnny Depp. Awesome video!
Yes, they're actual canoes you guys were doing all the work.
Except for Jacob! That’s why it felt like he was being pulled along 😂
Yes you can paddle but it really only takes the guide to operate the canoes.
I remember having a huge argument with my dad cause he insisted that the canoes are on a track and the paddling was for show 😂
i TELL my kids the same thing, one of many 'fun' facts...
It's amazing, in today's litigious society, that they don't make everyone wear lifejackets in the canoe. And yes, they are actual canoes, but I'm sure they have a current flow in the river that assists your journey.

What a great day at the most magical place on earth 🌎...thanks for taking us along Jacob ✌️❤️🙂
Disneylands Pirates & Small World have been my favorite of the two parks for many decades.

Carpetbagger you missed a key theme element to Barbecue Jamboree dining porch! Behind you was Teddi Barra’s swing! 42:25
Jacob rowing the canoe made me laugh. He should be a part of the rowing team. 😂🤣
It’s so much fun seeing you enjoy yourself here in Southern California at our parks
Pooh Stix is a game Pooh and his friends played, where they all dropped sticks on one side of the bridge, and then whoever's stick made it under the bridge to the other side first, Wins!
I think this is where I fell 8n love with dark rides.
Little known fact: Steve Martin worked in that magic shop in Disneyland when he was a teen!
Glad you’re having fun in California. A lot to do there
Your videos are such fun to watch! I look forward to each one.
One of the few childhood memories I have for Disneyland is riding the canoes and another kid splashing me with his paddle! Ugh!😂
I'm pretty sure the canoes are not on any track as they sometimes have to change course when going around the Mark Twain or Columbia ships.
Carpetbagger it's always amazing to see another amazing video

Canoe imagine capsizing one of those while vlogging?
A long time ago, the Disneyland rocket ship ride was elevated also. The elevator ride up took forever.
You were actually rowing the canoe. 😊 There isn't a track. I'm glad you had fun doing the classic stuff today!!
You showed and talked about stuff in Disneyland i never saw before, was fun and interesting. That barrel bridge was crazy!
Pooh Stix... the game they all played. Every kids does it at least once
That bone cage was in one of the pirate movies!
I enjoyed all the attractions and the carousel ride. Thank you, Jacob.
Nice Disney visit today, up the tree, along the river, and around the island, followed by a delicious barbeque lunch. Happy Holidays! Dave & Mave
I agree the oldies are the best.
Awesome video as always Jacob keep up the amazing work and safe travels
That's pretty cool to see the canoes. I didn't even know those were still a thing at Disneyland.
As a kid that was one of funnist places there !
21:40 Billy Bones was a caracter in Treasure Island.

Thank you for sharing your adventures.....
Fort wilderness I got a souvenir from there made of wood and metal and takes caps 😂
Thank you this was great
Enjoyed the video hope Jen is doing good and you guys have a safe flight back home
Hi Jacob I worked the canoes during a summer as a cast member there is no track or motor on the canoes the guest are the motor your one handed technique was fun 😂😂
Remember the Country Bear Jamboree? It's back in BBQ form.
I must be used to Midwest bbq platters. I enjoyed the vlog! Canoes!

It needs to be rowed! But the Disney person in front and back can row it all by themselves
Good evening Jacob and Jenn
Love the pirates and the pirate ship
It's nice to see dead man's grotto back open. Seems like it was closed for a long time. FYI, Justin Scarred has never been on the canoes in all the times he's been to Disneyland. You are one up on him now. 😊
Thank you for going around the world I never seen how the beaches see when it’s snowing ❤
Finally Jack Sparrow joined the group of People
Never seen anyone row like jacob lol
More theme park content…. just what the world needs
I was just there the other day, wish I would have run into you. Glad to see you having a good time!
Nice Beaver
Stroke me was by billy squier if you where thinking of the song.

Love your videos
Ward don't be hard on the beaver
Did you all fill the earthquake yesterday I was at my grandma's when I felt the shook everybody's okay 👍
I love Disneyland too!
Where is Jenn? Hope she is ok.
It's been a long time since I've been to Disneyland. I forgot how small it is.
Seemed a lot bigger when I was 5.
For a completely different experience at Disneyland you should try the "Keys To The Kingdom" Tour and go through the tunnels underneath D-Land known as the Utilidors.

Im shocked the canoes are even running this time of year. Maybe its warmer than when we used to go. 15 years ago.
Regarding Pooh Sticks: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poohsticks
and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pooh_Sticks
Awesome video Jacob, as usual!
Swiss family Robinson is like a Q line
Yay
Steve Martin worked at that magic store
If you goto 28:20 that question you asked you will get your answer about the canoes no one is rowing and it’s going by itself
Apparently the native American standing on the rocks talking is the original Lincon animatronic.
Made the same model, the original Lincoln is at Hollywood Studios
@TheCarpetbagger arh ok, i wasn't far off then 😅.
If they didn't have something to make that canoe go you all would be tired big time.
IM THE CAPTAIN !!!!!
I know this isn’t a food channel so who cares really but man alive, that is a sad little puddle of brisket
Another awesome video, Jacob. I'm looking forward to the next one. So take care, my friend, and as always, safe travels .

By all accounts, the canoes are real and free floating. Of course i dont work there either 🤷
You are one busy man 😮 But just asking…..any Krampus haunts this season?
At the back of the canoe, the driver is using a motor
No motor, no track.
0:37
Why does Mamabagger hate beavers?? They're so cute!
Jacob, that's a Paddle, not an oar. Oars are for Rowboats, Paddles are Canoes. I don't know Canoe?
Scuttlebutt are unfounded rumors.
have you never played pooh sticks?
paddle faster I hear banjos
Does anyone who is knowledgeable about the Disney attractions know if the pirate ship is on a track underwater?
Did you ever play pooh sticks with your daughter?
"Nice beaver!"
Jacob, according to Google the canoes are real and not on a track.
Were is Jen why isn't she with you Jacob
paddle...not an oar
