Well, a club playing an European Final at their own ground is quite rare. When the Europa League was known as the UEFA Cup, at least when the final was played at neutral venue, only Feyenoord has made it in 2002 by winning the competition (the final was played at De Kuip). 3 years later, Sporting CP played the final at Jose Alvalade, but lost to Russian side CSKA Moscow. That would be hillarious to see Athletic Bilbao winning it. More better, they could face their Basque rivals Real Sociedad. The Champions League Final this season will also be held at the Allianz Arena, where Bayern Munich was used to play their regular home games there. Hope the same 2012 nightmare won't be repeated this time around.
