I am so sorry to hear Peg has passed on to glory, although she is now singing in heaven, she will be missed here on this earth. I saw her and her family several times in Winchester, Ohio. She was a real Christian lady and sang with all her heart what she believed with her great faith, you could always feel the love coming forth from her. She was a blessing to me. Love you Peg.
I gasped when I read this. I had no idea Peg had gone. I grew up in Kingston, near Oak Ridge and Clinton, and they were just always a part of the culture. When Carol Woodard opened up for the first time... it was like fireworks. They have certainly earned their rightful place among southern gospel legends.
I was there, and can tell you I cried like a baby, knowing/thinking it would be the last time I saw them. But who knows what the future will bring. Their music saved my life. Well, God did, but God placed their beautiful voices in front of me, caught my attention, and I couldn't stop listening. Then started reading my dusty Bible and finally understood what I was reading, from knowing the words and stories in the songs. I'm very passionate about music so it was easy to memorize every song word for word. From there, I went to every concert I could. After each show, I would find at least one of them to tell my story. I will always be grateful for them, for helping my find, and walk close to God. Then in 2018 I was baptized. I was in my late 40s. Its never too late.
