I dont do any drugs either. But I can relate with scrim on some of the trauma I've been through as a kid growing up with parents who were addicts. The crazy part about it is your so young an innocent you dont fully know what you've actually been through until you grow up and actually realize certain events but alot of things are a blur since your brain does some wierd thing to block out and forget trauma. Like im 25 rn and my brain is wired to be on edge and anxious which I thought was normal but its so crazy because im fukn 25 and im barely noticing this and now I have to rewire my brain but damn its a struggle. Sad thing is I dont talk to my mom at all and she rather live that lifestyle haven't talked to her since I was 18 mentally shes not all there and my dad is an addict and hes there mentally but he relapsed and started doing the stuff he does while on drugs selling guns, drugs, printing fake money, stealing cars, stealing from stores making fake recipts and returing them for money, and so much other stuff I try to stay away from him when hes like that mentally makes me feel wierd probably trauma or some shit but he basically went to rehab and was out and now hes back and their supposedly gonna give him like 5 years he doesnt learn. Last thing I wanna say is I dont feel sad or bad for them because the only person that can help an addict is themselves.
@CurlyLowk98 you said it...an addict has to help themselves and accept help before anything else. From what I understand at least. I'm glad you found someone in scrim to relate to, but always remember what scrim preaches above everything and that's to keep holding on, to keep going because your story could very well end up like his. Positively turning everything around for the better, including those relationships.
