Nice build. A big problem with most feeders is no one bothers to confirm the angle of repose for feed being thrown. Every feed is a bit different. Take a piece of sheet metal, or whatever your going to use as the slide and pile the feed up on it. The lift one edge and note where it starts to slide...add 10 degrees to that and it will flow consistently.
Love this build and I actually recieved 2 of the motors today to build it.. One suggestion don't feed cheap feed to your fish.. Most of it will be undigestable and basically just make more crap in your water .
Appreciate it. I usually get the feed from the local co-op. They have two kinds: floating and sinking. What is not “cheap feed” and where do you get it? Our tractor supply has floating catfish feed for about 18 a bag I think but it’s hardly ever in stock.
@@JackArmstrong-jackdaddycustoms what are you mainly wanting to feed.. if your trying to raise big bluegill which in turn make your bass bigger.. You need to feed a fish meal based food.. Look at the ingredients on the tag the first ingredient will tell you what base it is.. however if your trying to just raise catfish the cheap feed will kinda do the trick.. Purina makes very good food there cheapest I think is called game fish chow is very good grain based.. there aquamax 600 or MVP are top of the line but about $40-$45 a bad.. game fish chow is about $25/bag But the conversion of fed lbs on these 2 feeds to lbs gained on fish are way higher than the cheap stuff..
@@chipsammich2078 I want big bluegill. As far as I know we don’t have a single catfish in the pond. I’ll look up the Purina. Probably have to order it if the shipping isn’t bad
@@JackArmstrong-jackdaddycustoms any local Purina dealer can get it. I'd start off with MVP it's a mix of floating and sinking all different sizes.. feeds all different size fish very well and Bluegill retain it they basically retain zero grain based food
@@huntermark1160 it probably does but I can’t afford to fill it. Quality feed has gone through the roof so I seldom put more than 2 bags at a time. But that lasts me a while so it’s good I guess. Thanks for watching.
Not set parts list. I just used what I had laying around plus the asf feeder unit with solar panel and varmint proof spinner plate. I used a 55 gallon drum, a piece of sheet for the interior funnel and the spinner direction guard. I used an old shipping rack for a tiller for the base. Hope that helps.

@@JackArmstrong-jackdaddycustomsHi, I'm sorry I have a lot of questions :) Can I ask again, I am planning to make a fish feeder, what do you think is the best servo motor for the kind size of feeder? For my research project :) Thank you for the reply. I hope you can give feedback on my queries.
Nice build! Thanks for bringing us along!
Thanks. Check out my other builds when you have time. Thanks for stopping by!

@@chipsammich2078 good to know. Thanks for the tips.
well done! I agree with building your own. $1k-1500 is super expensive. Your feeder probably holds more feed too!!

that looks like a huge koi pond you built there!
Can you provide please the Amazon link of timer & motor & solar. Please
Hi jack, does the feed motor know how much weight of feed it is discharging? Thank you
it does not. you can adjust the time of feed which will adjust the weight. i adjust it based on how long it takes my fish to eat it all up.
love it
@@U23FITNESS thank you
where can I buy the timer?

What type of motor do u use? Can u please answer?
It’s a 12 volt deer feeder motor from all seasons feeders.
Hello. Can I ask the shop link of timer & motor & solar you used in this fish feeder. Thank you so much.

you can also find them on amazon.
how far does it broadcast the feed?
About 10-20 feet for the majority of it but there are some pieces that hit about 30-40 feet.
That’s slick!
