I'm Mohawk(Iroquoian) from the eastern Canada/New York area. I was raised in western Canada near the coast, and though I'm only a 5th native myself, they included me in all the aboriginal teachings. I've learned how to make hide drums, dream catchers, and moccasins. They even wanted me to be a part of their aboriginal graduation ceremony, which I couldn't turn down. Today, as I write this, it's national truth and reconciliation day, so I had to throw this on and jam with my Native brothers and sisters.

@@CAUGHH Well I have done some thinking over time and cross referencing. Both the Slavs and Native Americans fished and hunted while living in small towns to large communities over time. Tribes of both existed in their respective locations and some got absorbed into others over time. I’m by no means an expert on either.

I'm a mixed race black guy from Montana, so let me preface this by saying that I've experienced my fair share of racism. But the indigenous population has experienced racism on a whole other level. The genocide against them is still on going. "My name is Captain John Brown.

The Holy Redeemer, The Man of Trinity!
Cause he's on the side of JUSTICE!

John Brown. A hero for every man woman and child of every race.
One of the greatest men who ever lived.
John Brown's neighbors once asked him to drive off some Natives who were hunting on his land. John Brown responded that if they asked again, he would drive THEM off their land. Man was a true fighter for the oppressed

I'm a Guatemalan woman with Maya-K'iché roots. I've always felt deeply for Natve American sounds and rythms, tribal chants and dances. And this song is the best thing I've discovered while watching "This is Pop" documentary.
Beauty, peace, respect, love!
Technically you are native American because tribes existed before borders.
Sameeee. Mayan-k’iché … we are native, its why we feel it deeply through our veins ❤
I'm Guatemalan too but I was adopted when I was a year old so I don't know my roots. I absolutely love this song and immediately fell in love with it when I first heard it. I don't know my native roots, if any, but I'd be super proud to have them. I've actually been trying to connect to them since I saw Namor in Black Panther Wakanda forever 😅. He was the first character that made me truly look at my Hispanic roots. That and Coco cause I love Day of the Dead now and want to properly celebrate it this year.

I've listened to this song on repeat since the first moment I came across it. The whole album is wonderful and emotional. My sons and I drove across this beautiful country and this song was in heavy rotation. Now, whenever my sons hear it they think of the time we drove from California to New York state and saw all the beauty that the tribes of American Natives have struggled so hard to preserve. Never stop making this music and sharing your stories.

I’m not native but when I moved to Oklahoma (I had little to no friends at the time) and my Kiowa, Cherokee, Creek, and Navajo friends welcomed me in a way I had never known. I am beyond grateful and carry such a deep respect for the sovereign nations 🙏🏼 I carry the beautiful jewelry my friends gave me everyday, such beauty and diversity. I also was honored to attend my first Powwow as well. Much respect and love for the Indigenous peoples across the continent. I no longer live in Oklahoma but I carry the relationships I have with me everyday. Aho, family.

@@CAUGHH Well I have done some thinking over time and cross referencing. Both the Slavs and Native Americans fished and hunted while living in small towns to large communities over time. Tribes of both existed in their respective locations and some got absorbed into others over time. I’m by no means an expert on either.
@@CAUGHHYes although we sadly warred in recent times, we're actually related through ancient Siberian migrations that branched off, one east, one west.

Came here after hearing this on Echo. I've loved Folk Metal for many years but my first loves were Industrial and Techno music. I love seeing (hearing?) well-thought modern interpretations of things. This is just absolutely great music.

I am a small percentage native and I respect the nations. Love to the people .
I'm a mixed race black guy from Montana, so let me preface this by saying that I've experienced my fair share of racism. But the indigenous population has experienced racism on a whole other level. The genocide against them is still on going. Their women go missing en masse every single day, the pigs treat them like they're nothing, and many whites continue to consider their lives to be worthless. I know it doesn't mean much coming from some random youtube commenter, but I fully stand with you all. With prolonged struggle, organization, and agitation I know in my heart that you will usher in a future that is much more amiable to you. I look forward to watching my native comrades torch cop cars along side me.✊🏾
I’m from the Blackfoot tribe up in Browning and I stand with you ✊🏻
I'm mixed too, but can we shut the fuck up about this already? Stop roleplaying saints and enjoy the music. Don't listen to all the propaganda and lies you hear, as if you were "woke".
From someone who lives in Montana and has a lot of native family I understand this 100%.
Because torching cop cars does anything to bring change. You’re only making the movement look worse and worse and people won’t support it more and more

I am native. It is nice music to listen to, If you don’t like it then don’t watch it or listen to it, don’t put bad comments about it or us, the screaming is not actually screaming it is our way to sing! They added electric Instruments into our song. Thanks for reading this tip.
Instruments= drums, bells, the electric flute i think, music background, native American singing, and high pitch clapping.
I'm not even sure how I found this but now that I have I can't stop listening to it, there's just something about it that gets to me. Thank you for sharing this wonderful music
Wow! The beginning lures you in with a playful little tune, gets your guard down and then, POW! You get hit the same way you get hit when you are in the ocean.
