So watch your speed and know their camping spots 10) if renting a place keep your own financial records and make them good. Keep notes of all payments and how much you actually were supposed to owe. Write individual checks for everything from last months rent to security deposits. I say this very seriously because any renting place in a college town loves to take advantage of ignorant kids who don’t know exactly what they owe or what protections they are entitled to. I say this from a position of experience as I just finished arguing with my old landlords and finally got back about 1,500 that I was owed. They will lie to you, they will try to steal from you and if you’re not careful they will fuck you
