Thank you for this video. Lynda was (and still is!) truly outstanding in all ways. She can sing, she can dance, she can act, and---lest we forget---she is the most beautiful woman Hollywood ever found.
LINDA CARTER, YOU CAN SING AND DANCE, WOW! I always loved you son e seeing you as a child, your so beautiful, I’m sure you must have been miss world! Great to see you have so many talents aswel as being absolutely Gorgeous! Thank you for all your entertainment
@@johnnyrocker7495 Her full name is Lynda Jean Cordova Carter if that makes you feel better. Her mom was Mexican/Spanish and her dad Irish/English. His surname was Carter. Her first name is spelled differently from the more typical Linda, but in spanish "linda" means beautiful so maybe that's why it was chosen. I was a kid during her Wonder Woman heyday and I have similar mixed heritage, so she was a notable celeb for me. Not just for her beauty and talent but also because that dual background wasn't as visible or celebrated in entertainment in the 1970s/1980s
I miss the days when ENTERTAINERS were well rounded...singing dancing acting playing instruments etc...today's "ENTERTAINERS" don't have 10% of those talents...Loved Lynda😍
Just speaking of TV variety shows, programming and interests have changed but I don't think it's due to a lack of talent. Many of today's biggest entertainer are triple threats. We see them act, sing and dance in movies and onstage. Personally I always liked variety show specials. I remember as a kid watching this one with Lynda Carter and one with Cheryl Ladd. I was blown away that Wonder Woman and one of Charlie's Angels had so many other talents!
You might be mistaking singers and actors for entertainers. Back in the day you had to be an entertainer and see what you got picked up for. Now, you just have to be profitable. Different things.
There are many Hollywood stars and famous people with a Spanish heritage: Anthony Quinn, Linda Ronstad, Lynda Carter, Raquel Welch, Martin Sheen, his two sons, Fernando and Lorenzo Lamas, Desi Arnaz, their children (with Lucy Ball), John Wayne's wife, Jennifer Lopez, Rita Moreno, Javier Bardem, Antonio Banderas, Eva Mendes, Selena Gomez, Eva Longoria, Shakira, and many others, to name just a few. It is a sad commentary about American society that many of these had to hide their Spanish heritage to make it big in the US entertainment business,
@@jgonz260 yes that is very sad and one more reason to secure the border. Securing the border would be a grand service to law abiding citizens who came to America legally 🙏🇺🇸
@@michaelparylak5649 What does that have to do anything with the border? Absolutely nothing. Your comment is out of context and out of order. Just wow! Linda Carter is just amazing. Smart, Beautiful, awesome dancer, actor and singer? Wonder if Wonder Woman could do comedy too? Wouldn’t be surprised!
Even though I was born in 1970, but I clearly remember these type of shows from the mid 70's to mid 80's. Entertainers was so diverse in showcasing their many talents. Singing, Dancing, Musicians and Acting. The two sense of being the Artist. I really miss and appreciate that era.
The second part of the video was more like Spanish flamenco. All beautifully done. I had a coworker in Puerto Rico who was a flamenco dancer and very beautiful too.
It's not a Rhumba in the slightest, but this was 1981 and all can be forgiven. I had no idea she had hispanic roots, but when you look at her hairstyle in this number, you can totally see the spanish features. A good looking woman. A very pleasant person.
Women were just elegant back then. Look at all those ladies dancing! Amazing flow of elegance. Today, there are no clothes, and they are shaking every bit of flesh they got!!!! World take note!👏👏👏🥳🥳🥳⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I must say .. the male dancer in red pants is really good. He even dances with his facial expressions. Overall, this performance shows there was a lot to like about the mood of performing arts - and style - coming out of the early 1980s.
And at the fast end of the scale for a Rhumba. My wife and I prefer the Girl From Ipanema. European dancers would say Beseme Mucho is a Rhumba, but I would call it a Bolero.
This is elegant and fun and a perfect mix of her heritage and what society wanted at that time. I grew up watching her on reruns of wonder woman. She is the perfect woman in my eyes, well rounded personality. Beautiful and cares for us humans around her. ❤❤❤ I appreciate Lyndas influence.on my life. ❤❤
The song in the second part is a variation of Santa Esmeralda Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood as far as I remember that song is like 15 minutes long in fact I think Santa Esmeralda has a lot of songs that are quite long
DO YOU KNOW WHAT...???...LINDA CARTER DID AT MEDLEY 80'S A BIOGRAPHY MOVIE FOR TV OF RITA HAYWORT ...I DON'T SEE THAT MOVIE ANYMORE...THAT MOVIE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL...❤❤❤❤
I always loved her. Never knew this or heard her sing before. I friggin' love this. She betta get it! What a cool way to honor her mother and her Mexican heritage❤

That's because she's beautiful on the inside and outside.
Miss World USA 1972. Her mother was hispanic. IMO the most beautiful woman to have ever lived.
My opinion too
Yes! And her mother was Mexican. Las mexicanas somos lo máximo y las más bonitas 😊
True her mother was Hispanic But more accurate to say was Mexican.

Man what a woman. Beautiful, sings and dances, talented a good wife and kind to others. From all accounts.
Thats why she won a beauty contest.
I happened to be visiting ABC studios when that special was being taped and was onstage when Miss Carter entered. She was radiant.
Lucky!
Thank you !!!

Now, all they do is take their clothes off 🤢

Got new respect. All four of my grandparents were Mexican-American.
Had no idea she was half Latina! She's a total babe even today at her age!! She's 73!
IMHO, Linda Carter and Deidre Hall are the most beautiful women of their generation. Hands down, indisputable for me.
She’s no Emmy Lou Harris!

I was probably in love with her, as a 4 year old watching Wonder Woman in Montevideo in 1980 or so.
You have my lifelong admiration. ❤ bless our grandmothers.
Talent, poise, beauty and kindness. That is Lynda Carter.
Excellent musical video; Lynda Carter is indeed a beautiful woman and person,
Mix Mexico, Ireland, Spain and USA and the result is ...Lynda Carter, "The Wonder Woman" I love her.
Actually her mom is Mexican
From Chihuahua
Never knew Lynda has such a beautiful singing voice!
We need a national project to clone her. TV was so much better when there were 3 networks.
Desde buenos aires argentina genia total mí querida linda cárter
Linda Carter has to be one of the most naturally beautiful women of all time!
This is jazz !!! Yes !!!!
Amazing 43 years ago.
The very best performance of all her specials in my opinion. This performance was the reason she received the Emmy Award.
Hard to find beautiful women like her now, this generation is obsessed with tattoos and self absorption.
Man, that's a hot song. Better than the Solid Gold Dancers back in the day.
She is gorgeous 💃🤍🕊️💎🎀🌹
NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! WITH THAT HERITAGE NO WONDER! SHE GOT THE BEST OF TWO WORLDS!!!! BRAVO!!!

Dedication: beautiful and heartfelt!
Part 1: No actual Rhumba. Talented dancers in gawdawful costumes and choreo
Part 2: Flamenco. Flawless!
No actual flamenco, rather a flamenco-inspired coreography and costumes. Real flamenco is more intense, more expressive and more passionate.
And at the fast end of the scale for a Rhumba. My wife and I prefer the Girl From Ipanema. European dancers would say Beseme Mucho is a Rhumba, but I would call it a Bolero.
An amazing talent
