This is Karma to whoever [Olympic Committee] fixed the draws during the quarte finals.
For context: number 1 and 2 seeds are chinese [ZhengSiWei/HuangYaQiong, DongPing/Feng].
But Feng/DongPing lost their seeding in the first round.
I find it hard to believe that they didnt deliberately make the 2 chinese pairs face each other in the quarters.
They didnt want 2 chinese to dominate the finals again,
Hence, they forced the 2 chinese to face in the early rounds.
The Karma is: the finals in XD turned out to be the most boring finals among all disciplines.

What you said about the seeding is incorrect.
Huang/Feng had to face Zheng/Huang in the quarterfinals because they lost their last and critical group match against Chen Tang Jie / Toh Ee Wei from Malaysia. As a result, they did not top their group and hence lost their original spot as second seed in the main knockout draw, which would have allowed them to face Zheng/Huang in the final assuming both pairs would have made it into the final.

as @davidhe0710 said, it's solely due to Huang/Feng defeat on their last match to decide the top pair of their group against the malaysian pair that they were in the same "side" of Zheng/Huang, plus as a group pair n°2.
