This is a dream come true. 😲 My favorite female guitarist in the world together with my favorite female drummer in the world playing one of my favorite Gacharic Sping songs, with Hana as the backing guitarist. 😆 Senri totally owned this version and Saki was in full assassin mode... I love them. ❤❤😍😍💙💙
I don’t really understand why musicians need to be categorized by gender. Senri is one of the best drummers in the world, full stop. Gacharic Spin is one of my favorite bands and every member is a very skilled musician. Anyway, that all said, I thought Saki’s performance here was kinda rough actually. She spent a large portion of the song staring at the fretboard, which isn’t good (I say this having played guitar for 37 years at this point), and she had several noticeable mistakes. She also really struggled attempting to play Tomo-zo’s solo. I know she’s a great guitarist, but this particular performance wasn’t.
@@COTTERO really? can you elaborate? I mean, if we were talking sports, sure... you have to include the "female" caveat. But when it comes to playing musical instruments, there are no inherent gender physical advantages or disadvantages to speak of. Maybe you could say male drummers can in general hit the drums with more physical force than female drummers. But drums are miked both in the studio and live, making that a worthless comparison. Believe me, I'm not some liberal white knighting female equality or anything like that. There are many areas where gender differences matter and people shouldn't be afraid to acknowledge that. But... a guitarist is a guitarist - women are capable of playing the same repertoires as men and vice versa. So, it makes no sense to me to put them in separate categories.
@@Wyl7 Hi, Will. Glad to see you again here! I agree with you partially because I saw Saki, Hana, or Senri play with various players of various genres or generations so many times in Tokyo and Osaka. Particularly, Saki faced off with Akira Takasaki of LOUDNESS on the solo of Crazy Doctor. Phenomenal. Fortunately, I was at Yokohama Bay Hall at that time. Most of you never know how difficult the condition Saki overcame until that day. I appreciate her effort to organize everything for the show without the almost management staff. The venue was not easily accessible. The construction of it was not easy to see or make sound great. Despite any circumstances, the show must go on. Saki and the players Saki chose did it. At last, Saki was moved to tears while playing the tunes of Mary's Blood. Also, Yunika wept as well. I'm proud of them all as a compatriot of Japan and a guitar player for 45 years. I saw hundreds of super guitarists on the planet for a long time. Good times, bad times. You know Saki had her share. I hope you all can see them all at the next venue.
@@UltraFoozy thank you for that context about the show/performance. I’ve “only” been playing guitar for 37 years (you have me beat lol), but yeah… live performances can go off track for reasons the audience never knows. I was surprised at how rough Saki’s performance on this song was (knowing she’s a brilliant musician), so being able understand a little better what was happening is appreciated.
Saki is Saki, a Rock Goddess by nature. Senri (drums) is a freak of nature, somehow always able to play exactly what any individual song calls for. Never over playing, even though she is perfectly capable of the most complex of fills and time changes. She just nails everything she touches.
Thanks for this great upload.👍 Kudos to Yunika, covering a F Chopper Koga song is no easy task.👍 This recording sounds fantastic, but on this particular song I missed Oreo's keys. It's amazing that this was available so soon (this was on June the 21st) this is a must see DVD/Blu Ray.😉
I was pleasantly surprised that they played a Gacharic Spin track when checking out the show and it seemed like Senri also enjoyed playing it. Not to take anything away from Saki, Hana nor the bass player who I didn't know but clearly could hold her own during the whole event, but seeing Senri play stuff that wasn't jazz (I know she has done this before, but I mainly know her work in jazz) was what made me the most curious about the whole set as a pretty big Senri fan. All 4 of them did an excellent job though, I am super happy that they decided to make this available outside of Japan as a stream as well and them playing Tamashii was just one of the fun surprises during the set. It was 2 of my favourite things from Japanese music combined, Gacharic Spin and Senri.
It didn't surprise me that Senri could not only hold her own with this song but also totally enjoyed herself. Many great rock drummers of the past either started as jazz drummers, Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix Experience), Phil Collins (Genesis), or were heavily influenced by jazz drummers, John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Ginger Baker (Cream - Eric Clapton was the guitarist), Neil Peart (Rush) and Stewart Copeland (The Police) to name a few. Senri is an amazing drummer. Her fills in this song were so quick but also so smooth. I have also wondered about Yuri's background since GS has included a lot more jazz influences in their recent songs.
@@fedogma8407 Absolutely and she has also played in rock settings before, with Rie a.k.a. Suzaku for example and I am pretty sure she recorded with a Western Prog Rock band as well (never heard that one though), but it's just not something I am used to seeing that often, especially what was basically power metal for a lot of songs during the set. Btw, to add an other drummer to your list, I am pretty sure Bill Ward from Black Sabbath also started out as a jazz drummer or at least I can hear jazz influences next to the obvious blues influences. As far as Yuri goes, I know she came from different bands (Lagoon and HighChe's), but I never heard them. Both are mentioned as rock bands though. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if she has experience with jazz either. Everything since W is so much more technical, I always knew she was a good drummer, but she has honestly blown me away especially after seeing some of the drum focused shorts. I love that they seem to give her more of a spotlight nowadays because she seems more timid than a lot of her bandmates and it's easy to get lost between the huge amounts of stage presence of mainly Oreo and Angie, but you can count Hana in that group as well. And that combined with a band that is basically just soloing over each other at some points. It's hard to be overlooked in a band like that and she deserves to be noticed.
@@MaartenT To be honest I was a bit skeptical about Yuri when she replaced Hana since her groove is a lot different but to be honest, she is the perfect fit for the direction the band is taking. Like you, I have been blown away by Yuri. When it comes to GS, most of the praise seems to go to Koga and Hana for musicianship. I have always said that Tomo-zo is under-rated (and often a bit too low in the mix). The same can be said of Oreo's piano skills since she is also amazing and adds so much to the GS sound. Of course, when all the members of a band are this talented, it is easy to overlook someone. This is one thing I love about GS, they write and play for the song although everyone has a chance to shine depending on the song.
@homegnome2429. Agreed, Homegnome, although I was surprised that Hana didn't jump on the mike, but then again, she may have required both Oreo and Angie's voices on Tamashii as they've been known to share vocals equally on this song, as evidenced during Gacha's 10th anniversary show back in 2019. Sidenote: When was the last time you ever saw Hana in a dress.? The only evidence I've seen of Hana in a dress was in that old 12 Hitoe MV while she was still in her teens lol! 😄✌️❤️🤘

@homegnome2429. It's pretty cool seeing Saki take a stab at playing a Gacha song here, though Tomo-Zo's presence is sorely missed.
