      @@sedatpir1905 Defence budget doesn't only mean the amount of purchases. Main part of this expenditure is army upkeep and this might include a wide range of items, from food to gas for vehicles etc. Turkish defence export increased 25% from 2022 to 2023 and expected to increase an additional 20% this year. There is a clear succes in this area yet its help to Turkish economy is questionable.

    M-1 and Merkava 5 can kiss their assess goodbye. They will be dead in the field in no time.

      The death of the tank has been predicted numerous times throughout history due to anti tank technology. Historically speaking it's a rat race between tanks and anti tank technology. Yet each every single time since the 1970s the tank still remains and will remain in the future for a long time to come . It's not that tanks will be invulnerable.. When a new anti tank technology is developed tanks will get massacred initially. Then new tanks will incorporate new technology and new tactics strategy and doctrine will evolve .

    The vehicle is a redesigned German Leopard 1, featuring a Belgian Cockerill
    turret and an American Caterpillar engine. It is lighter (35-40 tons)
    and faster (70 km/h - 65 km/h) with a shorter range
    (from 550 km to 450 km) compared to the original Leopard 1.
    An upgraded Leopard 1A5 with a Cockerill 3105 or 3030 turret would offer a
    superior and more cost-effective solution. Adding a rear ramp would enhance
    its versatility, particularly for infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) roles.
    However, since the KAPLAN vehicle lacks a rear ramp and cannot serve as a
    true IFV, this remains the best available approach for a light tank.
    Nothing new same as US M10 Booker.
    All these vehicles are converging to the Swedish CV90 design!

    Medium tanks are favorite again. USA put one into service with army. On the other hand, marines got rid of M1 abrams considering island hopping scenario in a possible clash with china. In that case a medium tank is more reasonable if army has to involve in an amphibious operation like it did with M4 Shermans on D-Day. For many years M4 Shermans were critized for being not strong and heavy as panther or tiger tanks. But I thought to myself, M4 was a good design choice that it proved to be well suited for Europe and pacific islands landings...

    as i turkish im talking here yes we are developing things like this and its really good but we canl only make like maybe 50 of these so we are not be able to sell and become richer and make the economy better. im not trying to praise ourselves but our people like the new generation is very clever but the goverment is not clever enough to support them. they are just eating our sources to live a wealthy life. just think i am 14 years old nearly 15 and im thinking about economics rather than having fun just think how depressing is seeing other teens in other countries having good times hangin around with its friends... Tanks? Lets say i have 100k to take out a million dollar tank. I can build thousands of drones. Even if the tank survives the explosions what do you think will happen to the tank crew?

    • @pancakes3250
      @pancakes3250 3 месяца назад +4

      I agree, however drones and smart weapons can be countered. Jamming, user suppression, decoys. Under these conditions, when hard to operate the drones or cant tell what is what, direct control will become very important for breakthroughs. However, i dont know how such systems should be, either super heavily armed and armored, with point defenses, or cheap and expandable.
