NATO said they wouldn’t move an inch eastward, then they brought like 10 more countries into NATO. And Russia obviously can’t allow it’s bordering country to be part of NATO. They see the development NATO was doing and pretty much had no choice but to invade. Russia are fighting NATO, not Ukraine. If it were 10 years ago, Russia would have quite literally annexed Ukraine in weeks.
