I received my first UA pedal (lion). I updated it and installed the mobile app as well. I know you can have one live setting which is what the knobs and switches are on the unit. I know you can have one saved preset for the second button. My question if you could possibly help me with is, is it possible to view your saved settings to see where you have everything set on in the mobile app? I saved one to my favorites but I can’t see what the settings are. Thank you for any help
I know exactly what you mean, but unfortunately, at the moment, there is no way to have any visual representation of your settings apart from looking at the knob position. As most pots on the UAFX amps control two parameters, it would be even more important to get some visual feedback in the app about the knob positions.
Even though the Lion could be physically plugged straight into an amp, I would strongly recommend NOT to do this. The Lion is meant to be a digital version of an entire Marshall Plexi amp including a mic'd cab simulation. The cab simulation can be bypassed so you can go into a real cab if you really want to, but in that case I wouldn't go into the front of the amp to avoid the preamp imprint and rather go straight into the power amp. Then again, in case your amp has a tube power amp, it will also add some sort of coloration so maybe it's also wiser to use a rather neutral amplifier (like a studio or PA amplifier). In my setup, I am running the Lion completely without any sort of guitar amplifier. The Lion is the guitar amplifier. Maybe the second part of the video (with the PRS MT15 tube amplifier and the OX box) confuses you. That part of the video has nothing to do with the Lion, I just try to explain where part of the technology used inside the Lion comes from. Just to clarify: Until 4:24, what you hear is GUITAR > OVERDRIVE (for the distorted sounds) > LION > RECORDING INTERFACE INPUT. After 4:24, the signal chain is GUITAR > PRS MT15 Tube Amp > UAD OX Amp Top Box > RECORDING INTERFACE INPUT. I hope this helps to clarify.
Oh hi Mark, the „big“ OX that is featured in this video (not the new Ox pedal) actually only takes analog speaker outputs of actual amps. That is to say „per default“ as it can be modified at the user’s own risk. I just did that mod recently and now I can plug into the OX with the analog output of the Lion or even the entire pedalboard. If you want to know more, I could prepare a short video here for you.
So if you choose a preset with special cab mics, can you make changes to the amps and/or their settings without the unit changing back to the standard mics?
Indeed you can: You choose the preset, save it - it turns into a user preset - as long as you don‘t touch the cab switch, the cab / mic custom configuration stays.
Thank you. I was just making sure I didn’t overlook something. That would be a very convenient feature
cool video thx! ;)

This pedal sounds great. Can this be plugged straight into the front of an amp and used just like a normal overdrive pedal?
It will give you a sound into the front, but probably only sound as intended into an effects return of the amp with the speaker sim off.

Can this be plugged into the Ox or does the Ox only take analog signals? Thanks

Good to know - I noticed the list online. Nice trick. Hopefully they add more artist presets.
With my app you can change de presets with a Midi controller.
What app is that good sir?

Unfortunately the app actually only work on Android.
