Smashing video as always this pal and what a gem we stumbled upon! Let’s make sure we look after it and anyone who figures out the spot does too 🤣 effort my man - effort!!
@@adventurefishinguk I'm a newbie to fishing, I watch all your videos and as you can see in my video I got a 20 inch trout, I'm going carp fishing in a couple of weeks at a caravan place we've booked. I will post my results of the day on here, 😁
I remember a fishing club using this reservoir about 30 years ago. The tracks into the lake ran upto the boat house now long gone, and people flyfishing from from the boat. When the reservoir is full there would be little bank to fish from. Love the videos 👍
@@adventurefishinguk Thanks. Didn't catch today lads. A lot of boat activity which is par for the course I suppose this time of year. Great day out though! 👍
Tell Harry that I finally took the plunge and bought the very same Rigged & Ready two in one 4WT & 6WT travel fly rod he uses in other videos, and it’s simply “smooth as butter”. 😇
I use google maps very often for fishing purposes hahah, to find spots but also to see how I can get to spots that are kind of 'hidden' but also to see how waters are connected, and to see where there are nice bridges. Google maps is very very handy for it.
Nice one lads! It's the expectation that trumps the weather in my experience - that next cast is going to be the one! And even if it isn't, well, I've earned a brew and a bacon roll! As always, loving the enthusiasm and care and respect for your catch. 10/10.
Do you use barbless hooks? I've just changed to barbless hooks because I noticed that barbed hooks can make a bit of a mess in the mouths of juvenile fish, especially if they are deep hooked. I've noticed that I do lose the occasional fish when I am playing them, but unhooking is an absolute doddle compared with barbed hooks
I do use barbless mate yes especially with trebles. Something like a small single hooked jig for perch though and I'll probably leave it on 👍 Barbed trebles can be real trouble for a trouts mouth
I ordered a new fishing spinning reel because my old one broke, I ordered a Abu Garcia Revo 2 x 3000. Mainly for perch and zander, is that a good choice? And I also purchased braid line to put on it, 0,15mm braid to be precise, is that good? Or too thick?
To be honest mate I'm a firm believer that little differences in gear and line like that don't make much difference so I'm sure it'll be fine! I've never fished for zander so I'm not sure on that, but for perch personally i's go a bit lighter. Doesn't really impact it that much if you use fluorocarbon leader!
😁😁😁😁😁😁The boys are back in town 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 That’s the kind of spot dreams are made of ….. there must be loads of fishing spots like that all over the place. As long as you did all the homework like you boys did and there’s not any no fishing signs or trespassing of any kind then surely it must be okay ……. Proper wild fishing and there could be some proper wild monsters hiding in there !!!!! Cracking video buddy and looked like you boys had a cracking time ….. love it 😍 👍🏽

2:22 Those be Rhinosadobbiecow prints my friend, Brown bear bloody ridiculous ; ) What a great location a real hidden gem, i wonder if there are any Pike in it's depths? All the best.
Silly question from a beginner, is there anything on your line aside from the spinner and a swivel on the fluorocarbon? I like wandering about with minimal kit and a travel rod but I never know whether I should be weighting the end of the line a bit to help with casting or something? Lure fishing is my favourite but I never really know how fast to pull spinners back in to keep them at the ideal height in the water. Cheers for the video 👌🏻
for faster moving water I like to use a small splitshot right before the swivel. but if you're fishing something like a pond or lake, the depth at which are spinner will turn is determined by how long you let it sink
I dont use any weights and sometimes not even a swivel for smaller fish. You can manage the depth of your spinner with retreive speed, and how high you hold your rod tip!
@@adventurefishinguk Perfect, thanks mate. I’ll keep messing about until I get it right, at the moment I seem to let things drop too much and I keep losing gear in snags and rocks.
