I've had the upgraded lights, tilt screen, and tails done for 8 months or more now. Thanks for the video as I might switch it all back to stock to sell. I paid someone to code all mine originally so now don't need to spend that money to revert back.
@@ExoticCarDIY It really depends on if I buy another 2021 plaid, or go a different route, currently have a LR. The motorized actuators is the easy part to take off, but the controller under the driver kick panel was a pain to change out. Tails and headlights are what I really care about if doing it again. Tails took me three days, have to drill all new holes and was quite the task, especially with the charge door mods. I have all the parts lists if interested in buying direct from Tesla through the app.
Another awesome video! Found your channel when I first got my W212 E63S and just picked up a model Y Performance as a daily. I wanted to ask, would the coding would be reset if I download an OTA update in the future?
Great question, that was my number one question but the actual way this works You're not uploading some random code into your car, all you're doing is changing the configuration, or options your car has as far as Tesla is concerned. So then Tesla will install the software that corresponds with that configuration. So the short answer is, no it will not disappear, it stays. In fact I've already gotten two updates since I've done it
I forgot to add it to the description... here is the china cable: www.ebay.com/itm/374730368541 You need the one expensive cable from china found on ebay. The other cable ~should~ be a regular ethernet cable. However, My rad moon had a weird compact ethernet, I guess thats why it was cheap lol. So i have to find a special ethernet cable. The rad moon is powered by a usb C... I just used and adequate powered wall plug to power it.
I spent some time in there looking at other items. a few interesting things: There is an option for euro DRLs and parking lights. I think it turns off the orange side marker lights. There is options for changing you caliper colors and adding the track pack wheels and brakes There are options for rear fog There is an option to change from "base" interior lights to "premium" I know there are unused connectors behind the dash for ambient lights that tesla never made. I wondered if this activates the unused harnesses to make a retrofit easy and intigrated. Ive done a lot of coding on mercedes... I approach all coding with extreme caution.
Great video I'll definitely tackle this project on my plaid when the weather brakes a little gonna have to save this video to my favorites 👍🏾
Great! I'll be looking into the rear lights next, those might be more of a change tho. My Tesla videos coming regardless

Are you removing tilt screen?

@@ExoticCarDIY That's amazing! Thank you!
Do you have instructions on foglights! My 2024 rwd model y didn't come with them. And i don't want to tap on the headlight harness for none oem ones
I don't, but just Google service, Tesla. Go to the service manual link, model y, exterior lights, then fog light installation.
So I just ordered the Rad Moon and the other cable you linked, however, I saw you had two cables connected to the Rad Moon, am I missing something?
While in there did you see anything else that can be upgraded?

Any idea if you need the harnesses if you have a newer car that already has the matrix lights? I assume no, but....
I guess I'm a bit confused at your question, what are you trying to accomplish? Your car already has matrix headlights?
