Do NOT buy tips from Aliexpress, Ebay, Banggood, Temu etc. The tips included with most inexpensive soldering stations, as well as the tips cheaply online, are invariably made of solid iron or steel, which has poor thermal-transfer characteristics (and can induce electromagnetic current and voltages in a circuit board that may damage sensitive components). Good quality tips are made of solid copper with iron plating at the pointy business end of the tip, and chrome plating elsewhere. The iron plating "wets" to (accepts) solder but resists the dissolving effects of molten solder and flux (bare copper tips would be quickly eaten away); and chrome plating on the rest of the tip won't allow solder to wet to it at all. High-quality tips will only be attracted to a magnet from the pointy business end of the tip, and otherwise will be non-magnetic. (See video on my channel for a demonstration). Buy name-brand tips only from an authorized electronics-specialty distributor in your home country, and expect to pay $5 or so per tip. In the unlikely event that an electronics distributor supplies you with counterfeit tips made of iron, you can more easily get a refund. If you buy them direct from China or Asia, you'll get junky tips.
Ahhhhh ha!!! I've been trying to use mine at 400-450, no wonder it wasn't working well for me... you have yours set to 720. I'll try that temp next time.
I am looking to get into soldering for video gaming and such. Would you take this one for 42.99 or the 939D+ for 53.99? I LOVE what the 926 comes with compared too the 939 but the 939 is rated a bit higher so I am just not sure xD
The 939D+ is more of a production soldering iron made for someone that solders for hours at a time many days a week. It's big benefit is a heavy base, comfort grip and replaceable iron assembly. For those starting out I think the 926 offers better features & more accessories for the money. I'd use that $10 difference to purchase a brass cleaning wire ball , tip tin and rosin kit. And maybe kick in some extra cash and pick up one of those $7.99 Silicone soldering mats and save your work top from burns/melting.
I've seen a lot of reviews on amazon about this station saying that they either received it with a broken ceramic core or the core broke soon after. Have you had this issue?

I bought the YiHUA which has a built-in air gun as well. It's brilliant and electrically safe, was shipped with a compliant UK plug and correctly rated fuse, the earth is connected to all the exposed metal. These are certainly OK but they're nowhere near as good as the cartridge-tip style ones which heat up in three seconds or something. YiHua do have better tips than the ones they ship with the stations, I already wore out a couple of tips on mine but I bought some new ones and they're good.
Anyone watching this video then I wouldn’t buy that, it’s not worth the money at all, a pro or even regular hobbyist wouldn’t touch that, you can now get ones that use jbc tips for like 60usd starting price or there’s ones that use Hakko t12 tips for 50usd, they use cartridge tips with built in heating element in the tips so way better than the one in the video, that’s old technology
