I don't want to carry a bag full of gear on vacation, so this would be fantastic for traveling. One and done! I also appreciate your insights on approaching random people. Even though I'm fairly outgoing, I still struggle with that.
When I go on vacation it's usually at leat 50% focused on photography so I don't bring the "one and dones" because there are no such. If birds are the target a big tele, if macro is the target then a macro lens, if cityscapes then a wide zoom. If I were on a day trip to a new area with friends I might take something like this. But for vacation I do want to carry a bag full of gear, I don't want all of my specialized gear to only photograph the outside of my apartment.
@@Tonellacam you'd have to see if you can find that info online. Not sure. Every lens is different. Usually it only stays wide open for a little maybe like 10mm.
With the existence of the excellent 28-200 f2.8- 5.6, I dont see the point of this lens. You lose so much aperture brightness just to gain 100 mm, and unless you plan on shooting almost-tame-birds, I dont see the need of going to 300, if the trade-off is an aperture of 7.1 Since I havent tried one myself, I cant speak for the sharpness through the zoom range of the 28-300, but I can from experience say the 28-200 is ridiculously sharp for being a super-zoom, with only slight softness and rather unfortunate chromatic aberration at 28 mm. What they should have given us was an enthusiast version with OIS. Or made it 24-150 mm instead. 🤷🏼♂️
But lets face the fact that the last Tamron 28-300mm was a F3.5-5.6. So it lost 1/3 stop at the wide, but 2/3 at the tele and that for a hefty surcharge.
It is a really nice review of the lens! Thanks for making the video😊
The Slanted Lens, cool video keep up the great content
Appreciate it! Thanks for your comment!

True, not always easy to approach people to photograph them!

Love my 28-200, but that extra reach is tempting
Yeah, the extra reach is nice!
I don't have either, but I imagine the f/2.8 at the wider end keeps it more relevant as a "do it all" lens than the extra reach on the 28-300
Great video! Thanks
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it.
Is the result sharp?
Hummm, looks like a nice lens, in term of sharpness between 28-300 and 50-300 ? wchich is the best ?
Sir I am confused between this and 28-200 f2.8-5.6 which is better value for money
I have the 28-200. It's a stop faster and compares well with 24-105 F4 Sony
@@anulearntech ok sir
Any idea if they will ever make these for canon mirrorless cameras ?
Ask Canon. Presently, if one wishes to use Sigma or Tamron or any other third party lenses, Canon RF isn't the platform to go for.
what does F4-7.1 mean ?? ive never seen that before , does it change depending on focal length
Yes that's what it means.
@@Princeton_James where does it change exactly ?

All zoom lens got this written even kit lens. Like F3.5-5.6. If its fixed F no then it will be written as F1. 8 or F4 only
Tamron makes amazing lenses! Just wish the camera bodies (Sony, Nikon) wouldn't hamstring the shutter speeds when using third party lenses.
They don't. Fps when AF-C is capped at 15 though. (Which isn't a problem unless you have an A9 or A1)
I would like to have one for my Canon R cams.
We will have to see if they make one soon!

Thanks for sharing you opinion about the lens!
Time to clean that sensor 🙂
Yep, saw that. Thanks for watching!
You have turned into a never ending infomercial. Can’t trust you any more
Sorry you feel that way. I try to be fair and honest.

Если вы про 28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD, то там f 6.3! Другой линзы с 28-300 я не видел...
