There was a world from Ravenor where the entire economy was dedicated to herding pachyderms, large saurians, and other such cattle in order to be sold as meat to the sector capital. Reminded me somehow of a 2000 A.D. comic where people went back in time to rustle dinosaurs for hungry fat people in the future. Whenever they do things like go into detail about the nature of a world, that's one of my favorite things in 40k, and Dan Abnett does it often in his Inquisitor and Gaunt's Ghosts writings.
I love the 2000ad comic reference, early GW was highly influenced by them going so far as to make the adeptus arbites designs directy stolen from judge dredd ( i think they got permisson). As for 2000AD the comic, i could never figure out how to safely detatch the cheesey mini plastic frisbee from the 1st issue, which was good as i got a bit more for it when I had to sell it
Currently listening to you from a festival in Holland after a pretty much solid 24 hour straight raving session lol! Thanks for chilling me out bro, love the content! Subscribed!!
GrimDark Narrator It's great thanks mate Yeah! Needed a bit of chill after the last few days. Same again tonight for me! I'd love to hear more about some of the world's but I think you've covered what you can for now though.
GrimDark Narrator Yeah I watched your mini series of 5 vids last night and I loved it! I'm pretty new to 40k and my lore is very sluggish but I like your videos and how you explain things. I'd love to see some of the death worlds in detail, also maybe like cadia and some of the mad ice planets we know of? I just love the lore on the citizens, planets and general life of 40k.
One of my favourites are the abhuman worlds. Ogryn, squats and ratlings are usually seen in small groups away from their home or in their own detachments inside the guard but there are homeworlds where a type of abhumans constitute the majority population, with a baseline cadre of imperial adepts in minority.
GDN, great video, it really helps to fill out the background of all the lore, allowing players to understand just how diverse the worlds of the 40k universe can be. I look forward to the rest of the lore videos in this series
while an ardent fans of the imperium, I DO enjoy ALL of the content you post. I feel that whatever YOU decide to post is fine by me!(you're the expert)keep up the good work!
I'd love to see some lore concerning some of the sentient alien species that aren't truly powerful enough to do anything against the Imperium, like the xenos worlds you mentioned at the end.
Afraid there isn't much lore available on such "minor" races beyond them just being mentioned in passing. At that point, one might as well be making it up, lol. I will do lore videos on lesser xenos races at some point, though. Things like the loxatl or rak'gol.
At least the mutant population get plenty of food and carrying it when you have 3 arm's is no problem, catching it when it has six leg's and is twice your size is for sure.
I have been looking forward to getting into this series, so lets dive in..... !

Sounds like an agri-world focused on animal husbandry.
GDN is quickly becoming my favorite lore source. Keep up the good work.
Much appreciated.

Yeah, I've done a few vids on world types. I would like to cover individual "famous" planets at some point though.

its time to start a new platlist . i would like to say that you should make more Necron Eldar dark eldar lore videos :P
I would love to make more necron stuff but I kinda covered everything. Dark Eldar videos are an option but eldar videos get the lowest views.
@@GrimDarkNarrator uhh yes i know you said that to me before . but it doesnt hurt keep asking right ? :P

There will be at least 3 more episodes about planet types :)

Thank you for this GDN! This definitely bring out a better insight into the imperium as a whole.
Still love this series
Your voice is like the smell of lavender in a morning spring breeze.
That's probably the nicest thing anyone has ever said about my voice.
Where is your accent from GDN?
I'm from Romania. The accent is from there as well :D
I'm saving this as a cheesy joke line for when I get a girlfriend.
Great topic and video, looking forward to the rest of this mini series 👍
There should be at least 3 or 4 videos coming in this series. And maybe in time, do some individual planets lore, too.
I'd love to see some lore concerning some of the sentient alien species that aren't truly powerful enough to do anything against the Imperium, like the xenos worlds you mentioned at the end.

well, I guess that way it's easier for a GM running a rogue trader game to make up some minor alien species to play around with.
Good point. GW might've been smarter than we think they are concerning the lore they DIDN'T make/release.
An entire planet of cathedrals?
Just your average shrine world.
Another great series!
Thanks.
Civilised worlds sound to be preferred, I think.
Wow, and here I thought the Imperium had pretty much grabbed up all of the human habitable space not claimed by Orcs or tau in the galaxy.
In a way, it was the other way around :D
Thank you my Grim Dark Narrator!
You're welcome :)
Ah yes, the 40k galaxy
BEFORE THE DARK TIMES!
Take a shot each time he says world
The emperor protects!
Thanks mate, love your work...
Thank you kindly.
My pleasure.
Suggestion: Prospero full lore and history please.
There's not that much on the world itself that doesn't involve Magnus or the legion.
Thanks for considering my comments :)
I do try to improve :)
Miniseries, yeah right^^
Waste worlds and hive worlds are the same to some of the inhabitants I'am sure.
Especially if you're living in the lower hive ;)
At least the mutant population get plenty of food and carrying it when you have 3 arm's is no problem, catching it when it has six leg's and is twice your size is for sure.
That is a big word
Forbidden worlds maybe
