She talked about how sweet and charming and humble he was. He was wearing cargo shorts and flip flops and introduced himself to her. Apparently this was around the time he was rumored to be dating Madonna hence the 2 video connection 😛) he came in looking for a gift to give to a female (of course he didn’t tell my mom who) but told my mom he didn’t want to give this mystery female the wrong idea (I’m assuming he meant that he didn’t want said mystery female to think it was an engagement or promise ring or something ) and my mom said she basically talked him out of the idea. I don’t agree about playing cold at the beginning. There’s a fine line. When I met the love of my life I set boundaries but I wasn’t cold. What I mean is I didn’t sleep with him until a month later, I didn’t let me kiss me on the first date and always emphasise to treat me with respect. This is not only inaccurate in my opinion Shallon, but it borders on disrespectful. Some minor research would have set you straight. Let's consider that John's cousin, who was like a brother to him, was dying of cancer during that last year of their lives. Anthony, ironically, even spoke at their memorial and then died three weeks later himself, also in his 30s. Carolyn cared very much for Anthony and his wife, Carole, and a lot of their free time was spent with him that last year. Additionally, John's magazine was struggling financially, he was desperately trying to keep it afloat. They had just lost another Kennedy cousin in a skiing accident. That last year probably seemed stressful because it was fucking stressful. There is zero evidence that Carolyn pushed John into flying that night at all. If anything, she had expressed concern about his abilities with a brand new aircraft. John even originally had his flight instructor scheduled to fly with him. That was cancelled in a series of poor decisions made by *John* that night. And *Lauren* Bessette also lost her life that night due to John's poor decision making. She was an incredibly accomplished, well-educated young woman, who worked for Morgan Stanley. She spoke multiple languages and travelled the world as an international businesswoman As for Carolyn, she was an true style icon of her time and an enigma. As a Caroline, I can tell that this is a successful strategy. When I met my (now) boyfriend 3 years ago, he was trying to be bad boyish which caused a lot of problems in the beginning of our relationship. Since both of JFK jr’s parents were deceased, CBK couldn’t have been trying to separate him from them. CBK spent a lot of time with the Kennedy side of his family - never heard any rumors that she didn’t like them ( although her relationship with her sister-in-law was a bit frosty - very different people). I don’t agree about playing cold at the beginning. There’s a fine line. When I met the love of my life I set boundaries but I wasn’t cold. What I mean is I didn’t sleep with him until a month later, I didn’t let me kiss me on the first date and always emphasise to treat me with respect. Nevertheless I was very nice to him, I replied his text quick enough and that set the pace for him to reply fast to me too. Anthony, ironically, even spoke at their memorial and then died three weeks later himself, also in his 30s. Carolyn cared very much for Anthony and his wife, Carole, and a lot of their free time was spent with him that last year.
Additionally, John's magazine was struggling financially, he was desperately trying to keep it afloat. They had just lost another Kennedy cousin in a skiing accident. That last year probably seemed stressful because it was fucking stressful. There is zero evidence that Carolyn pushed John into flying that night at all. If anything, she had expressed concern about his abilities with a brand new aircraft. John even originally had his flight instructor scheduled to fly with him. That was cancelled in a series of poor decisions made by *John* that night. And *Lauren* Bessette also lost her life that night due to John's poor decision making. She was an incredibly accomplished, well-educated young woman, who worked for Morgan Stanley. She spoke multiple languages and travelled the world as an international businesswoman
As for Carolyn, she was an true style icon of her time and an enigma. There are plenty of books that give us even more insight into her personality and complicated life, both before and after John. "What Remains", "The Other Man" and "Fairytale Interrupted" are all by people who knew Carolyn extremely well. I highly recommend them to anyone with an interest in CBK.

As a Caroline, I can tell that this is a successful strategy. When I met my (now) boyfriend 3 years ago, he was trying to be bad boyish which caused a lot of problems in the beginning of our relationship. But I (probably insecure and naive but still the only one) have always believed in him being a good person, discussing with him why he wanted to be like that (e.g. why he wanted being rich aso). Since both of JFK jr’s parents were deceased, CBK couldn’t have been trying to separate him from them. CBK spent a lot of time with the Kennedy side of his family - never heard any rumors that she didn’t like them ( although her relationship with her sister-in-law was a bit frosty - very different people). They were very close to Jackie’s side of the family. John’s first cousin, Anthony Radziwill, (son of Lee) was his best friend and was extremely sick with cancer through out their marriage. Carolyn and John spent lots of time caring for Anthony and his wife, Carole, and were a source of unwavering support through out a very difficult time. A lot of the stress they were under came from this situation and Anthony passed away several weeks after John’s death. Carole Radziwill’s memoir from that time, What Remains, describes CBK as being “what you’d imagine the perfect best friend to be.” I think CBK has been unfairly attacked by many, including this You Tuber, whose snarkiness in this video seems beneath her.
