Subscriber 912 here :) Good video Phil and good fix. That cap was horrendous! I think it was most likely someone plugging in the incorrect power supply (as someone below also mentioned) that's caused it to pop. Either way, another piece of history saved from the rubbish tip!
Thanks Craig and thanks again for subscribing. It's always nice when the fault is so obvious, especially when you have the components on hand to fix them.
I'm inclined to believe that it wasn't the 7805 that failed and caused the cap to blow. I think it was the original owner plugging in an incorrect power supply that blew the cap and destroyed the power regulator.
Hi David. Glad you liked it, I hope you clicked the like button lol. I have just picked up another original controller, so I'm on the look out for a 2 player game I can challenge my daughter on.
Nice one Phil 😀
Thank you Mike
Nicely done Philip 👍👍
Hi Vince, thanks for stopping by and checking out my channel. I really appreciate it.

Pretty interesting how these old SMS1 consoles can be fixed. Thanks for the video! 👌👌
These two were a great find. I would like to get a few games for them soon too. Thanks for leaving a comment, glad you liked the video.
Good repair. Wish my repairs were this obvious. I need to Master system in the collection.
Yeah it's not often this happens to me lol. Thankfully the board wasn't damaged. I've been after one of these original Master Systems for a while.

Most likely. It's a win for me. Simple fix for the price of a 7805 and cap. Thanks for commenting.
Excellent work mate :)
Thank you. I'm glad I was able to find one of these in such good condition. How are you doing?
Very interesting video ❤❤
Thank you Froz.
Enjoyed the video thanks

Press both buttons and up, and boom, you have the snail maze game!! No need for card or cartridge.
Really? I didn't know that at time of recording. Thanks for letting me know, I'll try to remember next time I plug one of these in!
