Vadim is an extraordinary artist whose dancing reminds me of the incomparable Bolshoi star Nicolai Tsiskaridze: perfect slender physique, beautiful technique, charisma, musicality, fluidity, emotionality, easy jumps, soft landings, and expressive hands and arms. It is a true joy to watch Vadim dance.
I've noticed that all the male dancers coached by Sir Anthony Dowell have adopted his expressive hand style. Just watch all of the Male Principle Dancers at the Royal Ballet and you will see what I mean.
Muntagirov is a genius. He makes you forget the (fiendishly difficult) steps altogether and all the focus is on expression and making the choreography SPEAK. Utterly amazing.
You’re right. I was lucky enough to be present at the rehearsal for this a few years ago where Muntagirov was coached by Sir Anthony Dowell in this solo. I knew then that if I ever saw him perform it onstage it would be a very special performance. Incredibly beautiful. Link here if you have never seen it.

@@ntricker Thank you so much for that link. It is a gem.
@@elizzy8754 You’re welcome. It’s a shame the sound is poor and it’s hard to hear Sir Anthony as his coaching was gold and so interesting to hear. It’s also been edited as it went on for far longer and Sir Anthony was very obviously impressed by Vadim’s abilities.
100%, a dancer with outstanding abilities technical and musical, not athletics-to-music.
My absolute favourite male ballet dancer. The perfect union of technique and emotion. Sublime!
OMG what a work of art is Vadim and his dancing. So beautiful to watch this. I once had the honour to meet him on a bus outside the Royal Albert Hall.... I could tell instantly by the way he was standing talking to the driver for some time that this man was a ballet dancer. Little did I know then before he joined the Royal Ballet that he was indeed one of the very best! FABULOUS Vadim!
Wonderful. A beautiful and lyrical dancer, free from forced demonstrations of "manly" dance. A joy to watch and such a role model for all the boys who don´t feel like Spartacus.
Muntagirov is an exceptional dancer. Dang - the perfection of his line and the pure dance-iness of his dancing. He is exquisite.
Gosh, his dancing, his presence and his storytelling move me to (happy) tears… Such a gifted genius doing what he was supposed to be doing all his life, and then sharing it with us. He is such a gentleman, Nela referred to him as Va-Dream and he truly lives up to his name. Makes me want to travel to UK to see him dance
I will travel to see him dance also ❤
I did travel from the West Coast of the USA to London to see him. I saw him in Mayerling, and even met him for a few precious seconds -- and it meant the world to me. That fleeting encounter won't have registered on his radar, but I will remember it for the rest of my life. He was gentlemanly and kind to this old lady. I will travel back to see him again, one day, God willing!
Absolutely stunning. Just what we need in these tumultuous hateful angry distressed days in America. The indisputable truth of beauty in humanity.
The marriage of a supremely gifted dancer, timeless music and gorgeous, musical choreography is sublime!🌺🌺🌺
He is an outstanding dancer, i saw him for the last time in December he danced Frantz in Coppelia stunning performance with Nunez
Outstanding and utterly fabulous dancer. With wonderfully relaxed and friendly temperament. He and Nunez are wonderful together; they have a great rapport.
This is beautiful. He is always so perfectly placed with his port de bras just right. A pleasure to watch.
Jaw dropping performance ! Perfect technically but also with an extra soul which makes him an outstanding performer🎶🎵💯🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Va-dream/Ashton/Gluck... Sublime. A balm for troubled times.
I just watched William Bracewell dance this as part of "Within the Golden Hour." Both performances are such a gift to the world, but as I've commented on this video before, it's an absolute act of artistic generosity that this particular performance is still available for free to the world.
Браво Вадик браво! Оченнь красиво,совершенство исиолнения❤!
Vadim is a most gifted natural Dancer, he very quickly grasps any role he undertakes. It was amazing to me last December 'Coppelia' was his Debut in the role of Franz. Apart from Ballet, Vadim is friendly, humorous and has the combined qualities of humility and modesty. Beloved by all his Fans.
Genius, absolute genius. I've never been moved by this piece before, found it quite boring if I'm being honest, but he had me enthralled and almost in tears. Incredible genius!
vadim turned so-so choreography into something special.
one of the highest pieces of art I have ever been lucky enough to witness thank you
So glad to see the extraordinary Vadream once again!
Quelle grâce et quelle élégance
Thank you for sharing you're beautiful artistry here Vadim !.. I am a Big Fan !... Best wishes for 2021 !... :) Tom
Vadim's dancing has matured so nicely.
Superb. What a pleasure it is to watch this outstanding artist perform!
pure perfection. sublime interpretation.
Such an incredible treat that the Royal Ballet and Vadim Muntagirov are sharing this with us. I've watched it a dozen times since it was released.
As always dancing beautifully, Vadim is the full package ♥️
Valentina Ubeda in more ways than one....
The wonderful, perfect Vadim Muntagirov. Thank you for sharing. Let’s hope we can soon be back at Covent Garden.
That would be nice!
Perfection, he is truly talented ❤
Beautiful? What's there not to like about this performance 😂🙂?.. loved it.thanks for sharing.
I saw him dancing this ballet 5 month ago in Tokyo and his performance was so beautiful as always!
One of my favourite pieces of music, one of my favourite dancers & the genius of Sir Frederick Ashton... it doesn't get any better than this. Bravo! 💖💖💖
Me too!

Unbelievably beautiful.

I remember the young boy in Lausanne in 2006. Great 👍 splendid career
wow, 14 years ago
Wow just beautiful
Incredibly moving
So beautiful!!!
My God! How charming this is, I'm mesmerized.
Wonderful flute-playing too!
Amazing and so expressive!
Beautiful! Dancing and music is perfection. I played this piece once a long time ago, and it's absolutely stunning

Браво 👏
Thank you for this such amazing video! Perfect!!!!!
390 likes and zero dislikes!!! Yaayyy 👏👏👏Well deserved Vadim 😘😘😘
I remember watching a ENB documentary several years ago when they took a chance on him when it looked like he may go the wayward way of Polunin at the start of his career. He proved their belief in him and the influence of Daria their older principal ballerina who he partnered there a great influence on his development. He has become an incredible artist and RB lucky to have him. Exceptional dancer.
I saw that but he never looked “wayward.” He was late for one stage call, and at his age I would hardly call that wayward! Even then he was incredibly dedicated and hard working.
Video of that programme here:

Ntricker - Agony and Esctasy was not the documentary I referred to.
Which one was it? I’m interested. As far as I was aware that’s the only documentary he has appeared in until very recently.
Ah he makes it look easy ❤
Gorgeous.
I can feel the breath
Who else started watching just cuz he was hot but got entranced by the dance
lovely
Eu estou hipnotizada por esse video scr
I looked this piece u p, to see who it was written for and to understand how it would have looked originally. It was a surprise to see (according the The Ashton Foundation's list of his works) it was done in '53 for Beriosova. It's fascinating to think this was made for a female body.
Great!
elegant

Bravo!!! 👏👏👏💟💪
I love this dancer! Is he russian?
My favorite along with steven mcrae.
💗💖💓From Argentina!
Yes, he is!!
Stunning, simply stunning. I'll take Vadream over that db Sergei Polunin any day of the week
Wait what did Sergei do?
@@itzblu855 he supports Trump and Putin for a start
@@itzblu855 calls himself the bad boy of ballet, left abruptly, arrogant, did drugs

❤️❤️❤️
How much i would like to study ballet! I wish I would a balarine.
Fantastic
Bravo! Beautiful! When did Frederick Ashton compose this and for whom? Who was the original dancer?Muntagirov is Russian, trained at Perm School, I believe.
He originally choreographed it for Sir Anthony Dowell. You can watch Dowell coach Muntagirov in this here on RUclips - a few years ago.

then i think he moved to the royal ballet school, ?
Yes, he moved to the Royal Ballet School when he was 16.
got the best of both traditions then
@@TheSorub English National Ballet school I think. He danced first in UK with that company.
wowza
🌈🎶🎶🎶🙏😁
The tights 😃
aka Vadream
Vadin made the most compelling fawn together with Sarah Lamb. In this piece he is beautifully fluid. Do wish they would ban tights in ballet though
T’es obligé d’être touché. Il n’y a plus de « content pour rien » qui tienne 😌
0frece esto para tus alumnas. Variadas
See Hallberg and compare. ..,.
Hallberg dances beautifully, as though he is a blessed spirit. Muntagirov is a bereaved young demi-god, in search of his beloved in the Underworld, refusing to be distracted by the spirits, intent but deeply disappointed. Both lovely performances. I've admired and watched Hallberg's for many years, but Vadim tells the story.
What a guy; sigh.
The dancer shows great control. Choreo sucks, its pretty boring.
Don't like his dancing or the choreography. Sorry to give a negative critique, but all this praise is not deserved. Look up Nureyev for the standard.
I’m not aware that Nureyev ever danced this.
@@ntricker He didn't.
Then he can’t be the standard for this piece. Nureyev was an amazing and groundbreaking dancer, who changed the perception of male dancers out of all recognition (and thank goodness!), but dancers and dancing have moved on. Comparing every dancer to him is not really relevant anymore.
@@ntricker Agreed. I didn't say it for this piece. I said it for this dancer.
Well, personally I’m not sure what’s not to like about him. Exquisitely and movingly performed with achingly beautiful lines. What’s not to like?
Clearly, this work does not contain testosterone.
Does anyone know who coached Vadin for this role? Pure perfection in his dancing and portrayal of the role , The Royal Ballet are so lucky to have Vadim in the company
