    Super helpful. My sons 50 was a clogged jet in carb, followed your instructions and used a wire brush bristle in the little single jet hole and fired up first try. Thanks I learned something today.

    Great video! Just picked up an 06 TTR50!for my son and it would not idle. I'm mechanically savvy but never dealt with this carb. Thorough breakdown and great tips. If I can add anything to help others, I noticed the the idle screw and air full screw had little rubber washers that seat them in the carb. Made sure they were clean and seated well. Tightened both screws down until they were snug then backed them both out 1.5 turns. Patients is key! Start the bike on full choke (not just up but bent to the right) and let the bike idle for a few. There cold blooded, don't rush it. Then rode it around until warm to fine tune the idle. Also, I would suggest pulling the elbow that connects the carb to the cylinder head. There are two O rings, one on each side. The side that mounted to the cylinder head had a broken o ring on mine. Trip to ACE hardware for some replacements and the bike idles and runs beautifully now. Clean the carb as outlined in the video, check your O rings, and give the bike time to warm up on choke and you should be GTG. Great video!!

      When you say you've checked- does that mean you disassembled and cleaned the carburetor? Most times when a bike won't start it's fueling issues like it was on this TTR. If you've cleaned the carb and it still won't start, my first suggestion would be to try a different method of cleaning the carb. A friend was recently trying to get a 50cc scooter running; he cleaned the carb and it wasn't working so I had him pull all the jets out and blow through them with solvent and a compressor until he could see light thru them.
      It could be a variety of other things- check the settings on the air/fuel mixture screw, check the idle adjustment, and check the compression.

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo  6 месяцев назад

      It could be a fuel flow, clutch, or spark plug issue. If the jets are all clear and the fuel lines don't have any issues, check the main jet size or if there's an adjustment clip on the needle. You may need to size up the main jet or lower the clip if there is one. Check the spark plug gap and condition.

    Hi, great video, helped with recent 2020 ttr50 I purchased for the kids. Do you have any advice on adjusting rear brake? the rear wheel is set back as far as it can go and if I adjust he nut at rear to try and engage/tighten brake nothing works to engage the brake, any advice would be great.

      Have you checked to see if the brake pads still have some material on them?

      @@alexdombi-weridetwo no, being not very mechanically minded is this easy to do?

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo  7 месяцев назад

      @BrentBarber-hj7hl you need to remove the rear wheel to do so. I wish I had a video to show how to do this. I'll try to put one together tomorrow for you.
      The short of it is that you need to remove the wheel and the brake rod from the arm. The brake drum will pop off the hub and you can see the pads from there.

    Hello. do you know where to find the starter relay on the TTR50?

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo  Год назад +1

      If you pull of the seat and rear side panels you can trace the wires from the battery to the relay. It is part of the sub harness that is attached to the frame right above the chain. Hope that helps!

      It might be getting too much air for the settings in the carb. You say re-tuned but what did you change? I've had bad luck with pod filters for the same reason.

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo  Год назад

      Yeah, that's very possible. If there's more air than fuel it won't burn as well. Larger jets will increase the amount of fuel. You can also look in to raising the main needle. I don't think the OEM one has an adjustable clip but you may be able to add a small washer to raise the needle up.

    My sons bumb starts. Wint start on start button. Starter motor turns over but its not engaging to wind the motor over

    • @alexdombi-weridetwo
      @alexdombi-weridetwo  9 месяцев назад +1

      If the starter is spinning freely, then the first place I'd look is the starter gear and then the starter clutch assembly. It is possible the output shaft of the starter has stripped out and not engaging the main starter gear. Disconnect the battery, and then remove the two bolts holding the starter motor to the engine. Pull the starter out and look at the teeth. If that is fine, then you'll need to inspect the starter clutch as well. Hopefully this helps!
