The Red Volcano - Peak of the Furnace - One of the Most Active Volcanoes in the World

In Réunion, the Piton de la Fournaise volcano occupies more than a quarter of the island's surface and arouses a subtle but permanent mixture of fear and fascination among the inhabitants. Because if its big brother, the Piton des Neiges, died out 12,000 years ago, the young Piton de la Fournaise is still active and regularly makes it known.
