Very nice my friend! I'm a prop collector and had one of the original swords from Hook but sold it a few years ago at an Auction. This video just popped up on my youtube. All I can say is very nice work and would for surely give any fan a great experience with a replica like this. Keep it up!
Thanks a bunch! Much appreciated. Funny, I have just finished one commission. I usually take one or 2 commissions a year. If you are serious, contact me on my personal mail: daniel.lupien@outlook.com
Awesome job, it looks identical to the sword in the movie. I saw one of the props from the movie at Planet Hollywood back in 93" and if you told me it was the same, I'd totally believe it 👍🏽
Outstanding job for a movie prop replica! I've contacted at least 4 swordsmithing replica dealers on their websites and they all refused to do the Pan sword from the 1991 movie Hook because the sword is trademarked. If you ever decide to do another Pan sword replica in the future I'd be interested in buying one from you with the exact measurement dimensions from the original movie prop.
Thank you Andrew. I appreciated the comment :) I do take commission sometime (when I have the time) Feel frew to contact me on my personal mail or Instagram. Cheers!
Hi there DaBuild, thanks for liking my comment. Please give me your email address so I can properly introduce myself and make a request for the 1991 Hook movie Pan sword so we can discuss a price regarding the cost of parts and labor and shipping which I'll cover all. You can reach me at a84fred@aol.com and I look forward to hearing from you. I know you're busy with other things and I understand if things are crazy right now so this is only when you have time so no rush and no pressure. I'm not on Instagram so email contact would be preferred. Thanks for listening.
@@DaBuild Hello Dabuild, I searched the about section of your channel and couldn't find any email information. Just Instagram and Twitter. Please get back to me when you can.
Interesting technique for the blade, though the originals were stainless steel with an electroplated gold coating. On certain surviving Pan Sword hero props like the one owned by Dante Basco, you can see a few spots where the gold finish was chipped off by months of duelling. More importantly, the hilt on all of the non-spring loaded variants was cylindrical
Power tools are of course very helpful. Technically, all I really needed is a belt sander. The belt sander I used is the cheapest one you can get. The rest could have been managed with hand tools. It would have simply took a bit longer :)
@@DaBuild yeah a belt sander would have been ideal haha I used a power file and hand files for the most part. I had to shape with that then sand. I noticed you did a flat handle though where as I went for a round one, I had to shape a square block round though. And I stitched the leather up the side instead of glueing. I’m starting to get black spots on my brass though if you have any recommendations to get rid of them?
@@fotojacker2147 I believe the real handle is indeed more round then rectangle. I also thought of stitching mine at some point. As for the black spots, I believe BRASSO (the product I use to polish at the end) could take care of them.
I wonder if in the mythos of the story, if the sword was bronze. I also used to like to think that "Neverland" was a hidden playground made by some wizard centuries ago for the children of some royalty, his/her own children, or just a place to escape to and survive. Almost like the Myst game series, where worlds were hidden in books. Good vid anyways ^~^
It is a pretty good idea but sadly, to build it in metal for me would be impossible. The only way I could build is to 3d print in resin to keep all the carving details.

Isn’t the tang a bit short? It should go all the way through.
It is. I explain why in the video. That was the longest piece of brass I had in hand.
