    Here are some extra tips that I haven't covered in the video. For replacing the headband on Marshall Major 4 and Major 5, I recommend removing the left earcup. It's safer because you disconnect the wires from the battery, and it's easier in terms of soldering. For Major 3, removing the right earcup is easier for soldering but poses the risk of shortening the wires coming from the battery. So make sure the red wire is insulated and doesn't touch any other wires. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

      hello, i have MARSHALL MAJOR 4 and i dont want to change the battery I just want to change the headband. is it possible to change the headband without doing anything to the inner part of the battery?

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  Месяц назад

      @wildyriftian You still have to desolder several wires from the PCB next to the battery. Otherwise, it's impossible to replace the headband.

      By "Make sure the red wire is isolated " on the marshall 3, do you mean that the whole red wire should be separated from the other wires, like by using tape? Or do you mean when I solder it back I should separate it more from the rest of the wires?

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  24 дня назад

      @raseli4066 Apply tape to the exposed part of the desoldered red battery wire. Otherwise, there’s a risk it could touch the black or yellow wire, and you definitely don’t want to find out what might happen.

    Hi - so is the battery soldered in in the Major 3 headphones ? Or can I change the battery without doing any soldering?

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  6 дней назад

      @ukulelerockk As shown in the video, the battery is soldered to a small PCB. Batteries with connectors are only available for Major 4 and 5 models. If you're unable to solder a new battery in place, you can simply cut the wires from the old battery midway and then attach the new battery to the existing wires. Be sure to properly insulate the connections using electrical tape or scotch tape.

      @jakal13 Well, in my soldering iron 350C setting works, but it doesn't reflect the real tip temperature. So, just set it higher to 400C.

    I have a question!!!
    Can you build a stereo harness for a car that will just let you plug the phone or iPad in and cradle the device to charge and play music directly to speakers by usb.. yeah just a usb port to plug your phone or iPad into instead of standard stereos.. simple bare bones

    Are there headband replacing steps the same for a wired Major 3?

    My major 4s are not as tight as they used to, sometimes they fall from my head while working out, what can i do?

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  29 дней назад

      Inside the headband, there's a metal wire for added stiffness. It might be bent out of shape, which could explain why your headphones aren't holding well. You'll need to remove the headband, carefully adjust or re-bend the wire, and that should help the headphones fit more securely again.

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  Месяц назад

      They are all interchangeable since Major 4. The amazon Link is actually how Major 5 earpads look like. Major 4 has slightly different design but anyways they are all compatible and look almost the same.

      No, if your goal to take the headband off, you can just cut it out with your scissors or knife without even disassembling your headphones.

    Not the best design... so many tiny cables running thru headband look like planned obsolescence.
