I actually did some mistakes while shifting gears in this video ;) I do it better in my "Gotthardpass" vid. The hard thing about this gearbox is that every truck is slightly different. I drove some which were perfectly fine and you couldn't even tell that i've shifted, on the other hand i drove 6DM and 10DM with weird gearboxes where every little shifting made the truck shake like hell.
Part 2: I specially love the turbo whistle of the Steyrs. I did my RS in Wangen a.A (VT RS 47-1 Kp 6), i did my full service as Durchdiener in the Katastrophenhilfe in Bremgarten and i'm finished since Jan 2012. It was a pretty cool time, i don't regret a second of it. So you're working as a trucker? What Volvos do you have? I like driving in general (trucks, bikes, cars...), but i couldn't work as a trucker, at least not in CH. Too much traffic, too many idiots on the roads. :)
Yeah it's right. Well we have to admit that we're not very careful with those trucks are we ? hahahaha We never wait for them to warm up etc ! But they're so fun to drive ! I like the Steyrs too... Never the less, they're much more attractive to drive than the Volvos I drive at work... Where were you in the army ? I'm at the Payerne Airbase
Part 1: Je pense tu habite à la suisse romandie? Haha excuse me, i know this is totally wrong. I know a little french which i need for my job, but my knowledge is actually a piece of shit :) To be honest, i was always easygoing with those pieces. I know they can take a looot of torture, but i don't see why i should torture it. Some of them are already oldtimers (>30yrs old), you don't treat an old lady like that :) I liked the Steyr's too, for some reason a lot of Motf's hate them.
You do get along with that gearbox very well ! It's hard to handle it right at the beginning. One of the best trucks I ever drove :)

How loud are they to drive? Can ya talk normal, or do ya kinda need to shout?
@@colincarver893 Nah you gotta shout a little, they're sorta noisy. Not unbearable, but still
Can you have a conversation with your passenger?
Or is it too noisy?
@@colincarver893 It depends, how loud can you scream? :D Well yes, it is possible, but it needs a certain volume.
@@eMMjunaYschion soo, its in the same category as my mog then.
