@PalomarPolynesian That's ok! Your explanation helps a lot. I love all the tips... especially the last one. Your description I can imagine visually so I will practice it that way. Thank you so so much!

I have looked at a looot of fa arapu videos, even some tutorial ones - and this one was the most helpful for me. I needed to see feet and legs to know HOW to move - THANK YOU!!!!!

I'm not sure I'm doing it right. Can you help? I almost need it broken down... I was told that the difference between a Hawaiian ami and a Tahitian fa'arapu was this: if you visualize an ami, think of putting pencils facing down to the floor on your hips and drawing a circle. For the Tahitian, think of placing pencils on your hips but facing the back wall, and drawing circles on the wall. I was also told to place my weight into my heels. But from all videos online, it looks like both are floor?

@PalomarPolynesian - Yes, that does! I found it impossible to do it up to speed and it didn't look right in a skirt. Is there any way that you could post a short video breaking it down slowly, with views from the side as well as front/back? Just to show the basic movement? I think if I can get that corrected, I'd be able to speed it up and practice properly. Oh and, where is your weight placed while doing it? Is it slightly forward on your ball of your foot or more on your heels? Thanks!!
