I have the older version of the trailblazer 18, with the vertical zipped pocket at the front. I like the design of the newer 18, with the stretchy mesh pocket in the front. If they could somehow add water bottle pockets on either side of the 18 when they make a newer version, then that would be perfect, although maybe it’s just me that is looking for that feature

Thanks for the informative video, do you know why Montane dont include a raincover please ?

As part of their Lightweight range, this pack doesn’t include a rain cover, which helps keep the overall weight down. This is a common approach among many brands in their lightweight categories, including Osprey and Lowe Alpine.

I have a few larger Osprey (not a single complaint) and a few smaller Trailblazer packs. One criticism I have on the Trailblazer 18 is. The length of all the straps is stupid long. I have excess straps dangling just waiting to get caught on something. I'm considering cutting half the length off the straps. Not something you really want to do on a quality expensive kit.

Glad to hear your Osprey packs are serving you well! The Trailblazer 18 definitely has a bit of 'strappiness' going on. It's like they wanted to make sure you'd never run out of adjustments! Trimming them down could be a DIY adventure, but I totally get the hesitation-no one wants to give their gear an unplanned haircut. Maybe we can start a new trend: 'Tailored Trailblazers!

Hi there. Do you know what the back length ranges are for the 32L pack?

to my knowledge the back length can be adjusted within a range of 40 to 53 cm (15.7 to 20.9 inches)

I think they probably took some inspiration from the Azote and then looked at ways they could tailor it more towards your runners and fast packers
