It is not surprising that most comments here completely misunderstand what this storyline is about, because most fans see the storylines only through the prism of their favorite character or very superficially in general, this is a problem. But what Chicago PD is doing right now, is writing for a great TV show where the emotional stakes are at the highest. The theme for this season is "family", Jesse Lee spoke about it in an interview. I'm sure this conflict will only bring Hank and Jay closer, it is obvious that Chicago PD writers are now doing something a la Avengers : Civil War. They re gonna tear Jay and Hank apart to put them together at the end, closer than ever.
Any fan who thinks a little deeper about these characters understands that each character has their own point of view, their beliefs, and the world is generally complicated, not black and white, and you need to analyze this series based on this fundament. Hank and Voight have always protected each other, for the entire 9 years - Halstead has lied and protected Voight hundreds of times - and it will protect him this time too - if you don't remember it, you must watch reruns of the show. Halstead has crossed the line for Voight whenever it was needed. But that doesn't mean Voight is always right, that he's a saint and that only his perspective has to be considered - quite the opposite, but unfortunately, many very little-insightful fans do this.
Jay has every right to be furious now. Hank preaches unity, but then does the dirty work himself, often behind the backs of an entire Unit, and then as a result brings misfortune for all. Do you people understand that this is not about some nonsense, but about the deadly serious thing, about a serious investigation into the capture of the murderer? Hank compromised the entire investigation, lied to his direct right hand - Jay (Jay is in the hierarchy right after Hank), committed a murder - no matter how you look at it, it's a crime and the whole Unit now will answer for it one way or the other because it affects all of them. Plus he manipulated the situation. He made the gun available to Roy, because he knew Hailey would have to shoot him then !! Voight has put Hailey in a very difficult position, and in addition, Hailey is Jay's fiancée.
If you don't understand Jay's fury here, then shut up. It was obvious from the start that Hank was wrong and that Jay would be disappointed and furious when he will find out. If Hank himself is talking about unity, then he should have told the whole unit the truth from the beginning and come up with a plan together, not hide Roy's murder and bury himself and Hailey in the mud. Plus, there's also Kim - she's traumatized, afraid that Roy is still out there somewhere. And Hank doesn't mind it. What Hank has done, and what Hank has been doing for years, harms this Unit more than it helps - that's a fact. Hank's shady dealings, through 9 years, brought danger to every member of this unit, one by one - as a result, Al is dead, Antonio broke down and left, Ruzek, Kim and others were close to a tragic destiny many times too, due to Voight's dirty secrets . Jay just wants to protect them all, including Voight, which he even talked about in the Season 6 finale, because Jay understands that doing everything Voight's way will eventually be impossible. Crime is a crime, law is the law, it doesn't matter Hank killed a murderer. This puts the entire Unit in jeopardy becasue they are the police, for God's sake. This is Jay's point and it's 1000% justified. The Internal Affairs Department would have thrown Hank into jail long ago if everything Voight had done had come to light. You can push the boundaries, but everything has an end and its consequences, and now Jay has to deal with the FBI, and he is afraid for Hailey. How some can't understand Jay is beyond me!
They always find way to protracted each other, I think he will tell Voight and together will strike this guy.
I mean yes Voight has done a lot of shady s*** but in this particular instance it was actually self-defense. So if they hadn‘t tried to cover it up they might have gotten away with it 🤷🏻♀️ probably a lot easier then they will with a burnt body and having buried it.

I hope his choices end with happy outcomes because Jay cannot leave his fiancée now
Jay loves Hailey very much and has a lot of respect for the entire team. I think Jay was really sad about what Voight "pressured" Hailey to do, but at the same time, I think they look out for each other. After Lindsay, Jay deserves his happy ending with Hailey so much. ❤
This FBI agent must have something hidden. Something bad... And it will be discovered!
I have a genuine fear that Jay will leave this season. I really hope not though! It will be interesting to see how all this pans out. Hopefully, everyone comes out of it (relatively) unscathed. Jay may hate Voight right now but he's loyal to a fault so I don't see him helping anyone take Voight down. I'm okay with whatever happens as long as Jay doesn't end up playing martyr.

I would not be surprised if hank voight already knows about this and will get the FBI agent to fall into a trap that will end his career

Voight is selfish and manipulative he should have never let olinsky take the fall for his crimes

This episode had me in shambles!!! They're back at trying to take Voight out by using who they think might be the weakest link....but I hope he didn't give fbi any satisfaction!!! Did fbi confirm the body was Roy? I doubt it! Plus it's possible Voight may have moved the body as he's done in the past...at least I hope so🙏🙏🙏
If voight goes the show will just be average all the good characters are leaving
I don'ty understand what the writers are doing. Are they trying to delete Hank's character? Hank protected Jay once! When that woman wanted to ruin Jay's carreer! I repaet I don't understand this storyline.

@@carmenruffo5609 i think hank is going to die because there is no way for him to get out of this without facing the consequences, and if he gets arrested he's gone, we saw what happened to all, a lot of people in jail would kill hank

I'm so confused. I don't understand the whole situation with Roy. For me its actually good, that Hailey killed him, he was criminal and ran a human trafficking ring. So why did Hank hide his body and Hailey could go to jail?
Did I miss something? (Could be since its hard to keep up on every episode, when you dont live in the us)
They were trying to find Kim. Hank and Hailey were after Rory and they beat him up to make him tell where Kim was, they didn't inform the others *nor the rest of the team or they head officers* they went there alone and torture Rory, after the rest found Kim they couldn't arrest Rory cause they had him brutally beaten, so Hank was going to kill him, Hailey disagreed and she convinced him to take him to the police station and they would find a excuse for the bruises, while Hank was uncuffting him he took his gun so Hailey shoot him to save Hanks life. After that, because he was beaten up and dead they had to hid the body cause they would had been arrested for murder.
They shouldn't had beat up Rory because that's against the law, the had to arrest him and interrogate him but they didn't do that they did something that could put them in jail. And then Hailey shoot him and everything got even worst so Hank had to get rid of the body

My mistake I should explain better the situation. But I am not sure that Hank manipulate her into killing Rory by letting him take his gun, I think it was a accident

Say what we want about Voight but that man does the dirty work to protect the memeberd of his team. Every single one of them Voight has helped get out of trouble . It kills me the way Jay has the self righteous atittude like he never does nothing wrong which is a lie.. they all love when Voight does things to save them but any other time its a problem.... at the end of the day lets not forget. It was Hailey who shot the man not Voight so Jay better watch his steps .... act yall self why do ppl want Voighg out of i telligence so much . Its because when hes there they cannot do there dirty work and politics thats why dey want him out
I know that he loves hailey but there's no way he would help this guy he loves voight even if he don't trust him so i think jay will tell voight about the body that this guy found and they will come up a plan to take this guy down

I agree, Jay would never implicate Hailey or Voight, he loves them both too much. I know he doesn't trust Voight right now, but Voight has been like a father to him. I have a horrible feeling that Jay will confess to the murder himself to save Hailey and Voight, he'll think that's the only way to save them. I'm not sure how that will work, since he was with Kevin when Roy was killed, but it's exactly the kind of thing he would do to protect the two people he loves most (apart from Will of course). Hopefully he and Voight will come together to take down North (and mend their broken friendship at the same time). We'll have to see what happens in December

@@nakararollelikereally7328 Yeah North knows that Jay didn't shoot Roy, but then again Denny Woods knew that Al didn't kill Bingham and it didn't stop him from sending Al to prison just to get to Voight. If North is anything like Woods, I doubt he even cares who killed Roy, he is just using Jay and Hailey to take down Voight. But I still refuse to believe Jay will betray Voight, if not out of loyalty than purely out of knowing that having Voight as an enemy is a virtual death sentence

@@duchess2412 doesn't matter who shot him, in fact in "normal" circumstances, that was a good shoot, otherwise, if Hailey did not shoot, Voight would be dead now. Secondly, if Hailey did not go there, Voight would kill him himself, and he would have the same problem (fads going after him, so what's the difference?
