    This reminds me of 2007 in the nhl where the oilers and stars were playing and the oilers are down by one with a minute left and the oilers pull their goalie. One of the stars plays, Patrick Stefan gets a breakaway with an empty net but falls over and the oilers end up scoring and forcing overtime. The stars end up winning in the shootout but with the extra point for going into overtime the oilers jump past the black hawks by one point in the standings which then the blackhawks win the lottery and draft a generational player in Patrick Kane which is a big reason why they won 3 cups in 6 years. If Stefan were to not fall over and score the oilers would have won the lottery and got Kane. Crazy how one play can change history so drastically

I’m not a true die hard but like others have said, notably Jazz fans, what’s the point anymore? It doesn’t matter how bad we do we won’t get the pick(s) we need to be successful, why even try? The Hornets do turn a profit as a company…just barely…but I have to imagine these rich multi billion dollar owners have better things they can do with their money than pay a shitty NBA in a league that has no intention of throwing the little guy a bone. The team is “worth” 3.4 billion and they earned 84 million in profit last year. Like, isn’t there something better these owners can do with their 3.4 billion? 84 million is dog shit to them. The modern day draft does nothing for the bottom 10 or 15 teams (aside from whatever team gets the #1, of course). The small market teams need to ban together and demand a change. Or the NBA needs to cut the league in half and have only large market teams.

      But none of the top 3 teams were a shameless tank. Utah, Charlotte and DC are legitimately terrible. This was a blatant fix. You just gave 3 teams outside the reasonable chance of winning the top 3 picks.
      There's absolutely no way it was accidental. The giveaway is the Spurs. They're not going to use that pick. It's going to Milwaukee for Giannis with Sochan and the kid from Kentucky last year. That pick guarantees the trade.
      Then, the 76ers. That's a blatant fix. That's a reset to give Embiid one more shot immediately.

      @@KG-tt3nl Charlotte is not a good team. I'm a lifelong Buzzhead. Lifelong. I even acknowledge we had another name but I'll never mention it out loud. LoL.
      Injuries certainly hurt, but we don't have a truck number 2,3, or 4 on the roster. Melo is all alone. Just like poor Kemba before him. We desperately needed one of the 3 top guys.
      If we're lucky, one drops, but it was highway robbery and it's always us they do it to. Every single time. Look that up. Our history with the lottery could win a fraud lawsuit against the NBA.
      Agreed on Washington. They suck at basketball. Utah got hosed. They're the Charlotte of the West right now: Never get a top guy in the draft, not good enough to get a top star to come. Purgatory.
      Sorry for the book.

    • @RodmanTackleAdvisor
      @RodmanTackleAdvisor Month ago

      @@KG-tt3nl My issue, bias excluded, is simple: The NBA is no longer attempting to hide it's draft corruption.
      Dallas gets a free reset. They were about to have to pay Luka a record Supermax that Jaylen Brown would cry about. $450mil. Now, they get a similar guy for 1/20 the number. They also technically added a piece in Davis as Flagg would be a third star where Luka only had Kyrie.
      San Antonio gets the pick it needs to get Giannis. That pick is literally what was holding up a trade. SA didn't have the odds to entice Milwaukee to gamble on a pre lottery trade. Now they do. Also, San Antonio and Milwaukee are very intertwined in the executive area. SA was the OG spot for half of the Bucks front office.
      Philadelphia is the one that angers me. They don't deserve this pick. This is a free run back and the pick number gives it all away: 3. Look up the last 2 times Philly had the 3rd pick. Fultz and Okafor. This is a do over paid for by the Charlotte Hornets.
      BTW, the Hornets are the only team currently being considered seriously for relocation. Seattle. The new Key Arena is insanely nice. Charlotte desperately needed that pick.
      The NBA just blatantly exposed it's 5 year plan: Flagg in a big market(Utah, DC and Charlotte are all very small markets), San Antonio gets it's new dynasty right as Pop leaves, cementing his legacy, and Philadelphia gets one last shot to finish the Process.
      The NFL just sighed in relief. Shady isn't the biggest draft conspiracy anymore and it only took 3 weeks. The NBA may have just created it's own demise here.
      CBS released a video of a soft prediction of the top 3 picks 4 hours before the draft. They got all three right. And the odds are 6 trillion to one that this lottery plays out the way it did. A blatant fix. That's gonna hurt trust a lot.
