  • The plaintiff says his son died of a heroin overdose at age 24, and he’s suing his son’s mother for half of the funeral expenses and legal fees. The defendant and her husband say her son was a good kid who helped other people get off drugs, but he struggled. She claims she put the money for the funeral toward caring for her other child.

      I totally agree! When it comes to grown men and their decisions to use you can either blame them or the drugs. You can only try to help lead them in the right direction but it’s ultimately on that person to make that decision to kick the habit or not.

      Exactly 💯%!! It's obvious that there's a lot of resentment on the defendant's part thinking the plaintiff didn't do his part to get his stepson out of jail in a timely manner. The stepson should've been in a restricted rehab facility instead of giving this kid so much freedom to have his life go down a downward spiral due to excessive drug use. ⚖

    The mother was very careful with her wording, but it looks like the biological father wasn't that present in their lives, so much that the STEP-father was more like his father.
    Now that the son needed to be bailed out of jail, his bio dad wasn't there in time "as usual" which is probably where a lot of the blame comes from.

Why didn't the brother pay the $100 he was right there in the same city. Then they waited over 3 months before he had his so called breakdown 🤔, the mother could have paid her half within the first month when she got the insurance money. She got over $10,000 for his death, but didn't want to pay anything for HER kid.

      @lavinder11 Год назад +1

      @@josecauthen2585 The first four years are formative when it comes to children. That kid was likely already f-ed up once the stepfather came into play.
      Having said that, it's still nice that a totally unrelated man tried to clean up the bio dad's mess. As for the brother, how do you even know that he had money to pay? And the thing with rehab, especially after jail, you're supposed to live in a halfway house bc if you go back to your original environment, you're more likely to relapse.
      A lot of y'all are only seeing the money when it's clear that in the background, there has been *24* years of resentment building up. It probably got worse after the father decided to sue rather than let sleeping dogs lie.

    This case was so hard to watch for the simple fact that everybody's playing the blame subconsciously on the dad and I don't feel like that's right I know everybody is hurting in their own way but for them to seriously blatantly just blame the dad smh the dad did not take the Needle and kill his son. The drugs killed him period. 💔
