Revived is just, my god. I can’t even explain it. To me, it’s one of those songs where the melody or beat goes so hard that you just start head bopping and singing and you’re like OH MY GOD THIS IS SUCH A GOOD SONG. It just gets me hyped up, ready to sing or dance or just listen quietly. It’s just so good. Derivakat definitely deserves her spot on trending.
TBH it kinda fits, Doomsday was, in a way, simply the final blow against a failing nation that's been hobbling along for a long time, met with fairly little resistance and definitely not with any resistance that actually managed to even put a dent into their attackers.* It was an execution more so than a real battle, or rather the battle had been lost before it even begun when most decided to either actively sabotage what was left of l'manburg or didn't interfere. The revival on the other hand marks the return of a brilliant speaker who can talk people into just about anything returning with the intention of making the most of his new chance and with even fewer scruples than before. It's basically inviting back a complete wildcard who at this point may well have about as many (stable) emotional ties as Dream and who has a history of starting conflict. (Yes, I know it's a joke, but I did want to briefly analyze why that choice makes perfect sense) (*also referred to as a curbstomp in tv-tropes lingo)

Here's how good Derivakat is: she made a song that I like against my own will. I *really* wanted to dislike Revived because it's about a character I despise (the CHARACTER. Real-life Wilbur is fine; it's C! Wilbur I have a problem with). And yet it clawed its way into my ears and dug its teeth into my brain, and I can't stop listening to it.
One my favorite parts of doomsday is that you can kind of guess which of the three who destroyed l’manburg would be singing each part. Like the part about being thrown to the wolves would probably be technoblade, the part we’re they mention crows would be philza, and mentions of having no more hope or being afraid probably dream.
I love all Derivakat's DSMP music SO MUCH, but these are definitely some of my absolute favourites so far! My favourite bit about 'Doomsday' is how it leads to 'Why' with 'Doomsday' having _"Is this justice? This is justice."_ as a repeating theme while 'Why' ends with _"Do you still believe this is the justice you sought after?"_ 💔 Edit: _"This is what happens when you turn your back on a friend."_ and Nate zooms in on Dream. THANK YOU! So many people connect that to the Techno-Tommy falling out but _they actively denied that terminology!_ I'M SO GLAD I'M NOT ALONE IN MAKING THE _OTHER_ CONNECTION THERE, (as messed up as it is). q.q

By having his secret underground stash of mementoes c!tommy "betrayed" him and by running away from exile he "abandoned" him. While it's obvious that c!techno cared more than he admitted to, the bedrock boys alliance was never framed as a friendship but as an alliance of convenience where both prioritised their own objectives. Meanwhile the mess between c!dream and c!tommy had at that point been taken to an extreme in being explicitly framed as a textbook abusive "friendship" complete with victim blaming which is echoed in the lyrics as an additional layer. In more general meaning the line fits all three perpetrators of Doomsday, but the exact wording specifically echoes c!dream in the storyline that led to it.

you should definitely react to the lore of karl jacobs, and watch his own storyline he created called “Tales of the SMP” they’re really good. Karl is a time traveler and goes to different alternate realities to try and save the future
One of my all time songs I've listen too by derivakat is "Captains Call" which is a song for Captain Puffy. Not only was it an amazing Collab w/ Sad-ist and CG5. but the beat and vocals were amazing. Its a definite recommendation if you listen to more derivakat song. Overall amazing video and derivakat songs never fail to impress me!💕💕
The "white streak in my hair thing" i think it came from fanartist first drawing revived Tommy with a white streak in his hair, as a sign of the fact that he came back from the dead. Then when Wilbur was revived he had a white streak of hair, so it kinda became canon? But it could also be from the fact that Wilbur spent over thirteen years in limbo and he aged there, but i think the first one is probably right.
Derivakat is always putting out such amazing songs. I can't believe you haven't heard Turn Back Time yet. Revived is exactly how I think Alivebur is thinking, he seems nice and that he changed but he really hasn't. All of her songs are literal bangers
btw you talked something about the events from the smp. but one funny and kinda ebic one was from Doomsday, when they singd about angel of death they where talking about Phil(if i remember right) So they got the angel of death and the chat(crows) in one song(POG). and the Turn back time its actually kinda sad over all bc when he time travels(he cant control the traveling) he worgets things from his life and then the in between and all. and then in Revived he was talking abour "the other guy" he was talking about ghostbur who got stuck in, in the between when dream killed him by reviving the orginal wilbur/now known as revivebur
There is only one time, I recall hearing her rap before dropping Revived on us. The middle section of "Win it all". And I am going to be honest, I didn't really like it at the time. Somehow she has improved on those skills of her though without ever using it in another song until now. Either that's sheer talent or she trained in secret. Either way, the result is without a question amazing.

you should definitely react to the lore of karl jacobs, and watch his own storyline he created called “Tales of the SMP” they’re really good. Karl is a time traveler and goes to different alternate realities to try and save the future
One of my all time songs I've listen too by derivakat is "Captains Call" which is a song for Captain Puffy. Not only was it an amazing Collab w/ Sad-ist and CG5. but the beat and vocals were amazing. Its a definite recommendation if you listen to more derivakat song. Overall amazing video and derivakat songs never fail to impress me!💕💕

The "white streak in my hair thing" i think it came from fanartist first drawing revived Tommy with a white streak in his hair, as a sign of the fact that he came back from the dead. Then when Wilbur was revived he had a white streak of hair, so it kinda became canon?
But it could also be from the fact that Wilbur spent over thirteen years in limbo and he aged there, but i think the first one is probably right.

There is only one time, I recall hearing her rap before dropping Revived on us. The middle section of "Win it all". And I am going to be honest, I didn't really like it at the time. Somehow she has improved on those skills of her though without ever using it in another song until now. Either that's sheer talent or she trained in secret. Either way, the result is without a question amazing.
