This is one of the most enjoyable and entertaining interviews I've heard in a long time. We should all be so proud of this young and his journey. I love his humility and his personality.
I am humbled to be where I am today, only by Gods grace is it possible to be able to fly and help others. Thank you Karen for your kind words. God bless
I lived in the Philippines for 6 years, arrived in 2012 first in Manila (Pasay City) and later in the province Bacolod City..In my opinion most of the black foreigners are Black Americans then Africans mostly from Nigeria...the black people of the Philippines are called the Aeta and rightly so are black, they came to the Philippines centuries ago from areas around the Solomon Islands and Fiji Islands in the South Seas. After, came the Malays from Malaysia....later on the Spanish colonised the islands and the Philippines was named after the Spanish King Phillip..during the 300 years of colonialism...many of the Malays and Aetas were mixed with Spanish settlers thus producing a country of people with various shades of brown melanine skin..Many Filipinos have very light skin as well. When I lived over there, I never experienced anything negative from the people because I was a Jamaican as a matter of fact Jamaicans are well liked over there I didn´t have any problem with the food there either, and sometimes I made Jamaican dishes like stew peas and jerk chicken,( I had my nephew send me jerk seasoning from London) along with the spices I could´nt get locally...also there are countless food outlets in the food court in the malls that serve foods from all over Asia. There was a Jamaican who opened a restaurant in the city of Dumaguete called "Jamrock Cafe" don´t know if it´s still operational as the pandemic killed many businesses. I have seen breadfruit trees in the province where I used to live, also an abundance of sugarcane and mangoes are grown locally. Clearly this gentleman has a large interaction with the local population in remote areas....big up to him and family..a very interesting story, will be going back there in late August.
Jamaican here ... like you I was there from the old PUC campus then located in Baesa , then transferred to Putingkahoy 79-80 ...later name changed to AUP .. lots of delicious dishes for Vegetarians ... Pancit etc and all the necessary ingredients are available to cook jamaican dishes .. American ... name it .. good people
The wife and I really enjoyed this discussion. The Philippines has moved to the top of the list and I will have to make contact with Davin. We loved it Sir Xavier!
@@gretareid6792 Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, much appreciated. Blessed to know that you were inspired by my story. God bless you too
This young man has shown remarkable ability to assess and analyze his status and to make changes in his life for the better. He is indeed an inspiration to all young people in despair. His life is an amazing journey. God Bless him and his wife and his mission. Be safe.
I like him and Irene. Keep spreading the Gospel my brother. God has done a mighty thing in your life. I will be following you and seeing how I can assist you in your endeavors. May God hide you from the enemy when you are flying those planes and in everything you do. Bless up.
This interview has been great. Really enjoyed it. May succes continue to follow Davin and Irene. Blessings always. Again beautiful and informative conversation.

I am very proud of Davin's accomplishments. I hope someone who have the opportunity to watch his story on different platform will be inspired. Thanks for this wonderful feature Xavier.....blessings.
I am a Trinidadian who lived and studied in the Philippines for a number of years, and everything this guy said is absolutely true. The original Filipinos are black and are called negritos. Also, the philippines also make a dish that is similar to the Jamaican escovitch and it is called escabeche. Like your guest, i am also a Seventh Day Adventist. I have been to the Philippines more times than I can count the fingers on both hands, and I love it. That young man is on point with every thing. Also, the Philippines is more developed and modern than all the islands in the Caribbean especially in modern manila. There is a place named Makati, and you'd think that you are in midtown Manhattan. I would love to communicate with your Davin, since we are both SDA and I studied there at Adventist University of the P,hilippines which I know he knows. I also travel over there to visit from time to time, especially when I was studying. I did my doctorate in public health over there. I love the Philippines and can live there. Thank you for this video, Sir.
The only thing that was wrong about his info is that Spanish breeds with negritos since they are isolated the average filipinos that you can see right now are malay descents they outnumbered the negritos that's why they are isolated.
The color of Filipino is brown, you say Filipino is negrito..! Explain it why Filipinos are Negritos..?! Where Negritos come from.? When Philippines under Spanish colony, Spain vs. USA, Negritos from Africa is slave by american, negro join american to fight against Spain, then Filipino war against America, the Negritos left american to join Filipino soldiers to america. that's why Negritos begins to spreading to Philippines anywhere in the mountains of Luzon. Thrs no asian Negritos here in Asia. 💀🇵🇭⚔️👍

One of the best interviews Xavier shows that one's pass does not dictate one's future" from his nothing he became a mighty vessell in the hands of God....i pray his testimony will be heard by boys, girls, men ,women and it will bring hope and touch the life of someone to walk away from the life of gun, crime and voilence and to be s better person.
One of the best interviews ever, love Davin's personality and positive attitude. Great Christian attitude may God continue to bless him. Thanks Xavier for another great interview.
Myself and my Filipino wife are migrating to the Philippines soon and will be bringing Jamaican food via a restaurant. We’ve been introducing Jamaican food to the family and friends and the response is so positive that we’ve decided that this will our business and are excited to present it to the Philippines in the Luzon area. There is/was a Jamaican restaurant on one of the islands called Dumagete called True Love Cafe but I haven’t heard anything of them since the pandemic. 🙏🏾❤️👊🏾
As a Trinidadian in Canada, I have tried several Filipino dishes. I have found them tasty especially the desserts, but I have not found them to be visually appealing.
This has been absolutely wonderful. My mahal is in the Philippines and I am sharing this video with her. It has helped me and I know it will definitely help her about Jamaicans. Thank you very much and if and when I visit the Philippines I would like to have lunch with Devin and Irene. God bless you both.
You really just have to go to the Philippines and explore for yourself. Spend time in Manila, then Cebu and then Cagayan de Oro. From there you can visit provinces that surrounds. Just an insight, Filipino food translates well to Jamaican food. We have oxtail, chicken, fish (we even have version of escovich) and etc dishes. You will love the people. Must come. My good co-worker friend in the US is Jamaican and his Father is the Honorary Philippine Consolate Head in Kingston. Plan your trip Now! Best time to go and experience the culture is of course December but April May is good too.
Wonderful interview Xavier, my takeaway you don't have to be defined by your surroundings. Very interesting and informative. Love his spirit and he is funny as well. I wish them well💜🙏🇯🇲🇺🇲
Davin your life experience should be a movie to inspire others. That there is better for anyone no matter where they are from. I enjoyed your story. This is a must share story.
