Wow, You are very good guy! We loves you and we are waiting next part of your restoration, but I have question, how much did you buy them for? And you buy them on eBay?
This is awesome! As a kid I was more interested in behind the scenes than the actual show. I always find it amazing how people interact with the show when the show is an illusion!
Probably the last time a stage like this was built was like in the 80s. This is amazing! It almost feels like the show stage is getting a update. Some modern and some true to the original.
Is this going to be open to the public when it is up and running? Where are you located? It would be nice to have more places to see them than just BBWL and Damon Braylond's place.
That is so cool! I've always wondered how the curtain tracks are installed. It's pretty impressive that the original curtain motor for Billy Bob's stage still works, though it's a shame the material for the curtains got all stained and ripped from whatever it went through while sitting in storage for a few decades. I also look forward to seeing how the lighting setup goes, nice to see the start of the lighting installation. Keep up the good work
Is the Gaslight Village show still being worked on? If so how's that going? I really enjoy watching this show get fixed, and am excited to see it all when it's all done
always look forward to these updates! noticed you here talking about other, more professional RAE restorations going on too; which ones do you recommend i give a follow?
Say, what are you planning to do with the Original curtains? Cause im pretty’s ure even though they are well, in bad shape, they still should be preserved in some way. 3:45
Honestly, this stage is getting up there with fechtors when it comes to keeping it showbiz accurate. Considering his was a 1 on 1 replica thats amazing
I’m loving these videos. Makes me dream about owning an actual animatronic and getting through this process myself… in fact i sent a message to you abt getting one haha
I am obsessed with audio animation ice so its nice to see someone give them the love and care they deserve! These people are absolute heroes to the rock a fire explosion!
This has been an amazing series and I am just astounded by your progress on this. It is looking great so far and I can't wait to see when it is fully completed. What I am mostly interested in is a full (and very detailed) explanation of how the show works. I had seen a video of Chris Thrash's Rock-afire Explosion and he 'lightly' explained how the system works, but I am more into details. On a basic level, I know that the information was (originally) 'coded' on to magnetic tape along with a separate main audio track, and when the tape played back, there were these boards in a gray box called "bit strippers" and each of these boards would get the information from the tape and decode it to replicate the movements that were programmed into it so the movements of each character would be in sync to the music. That is what I know, but what I don't know is how this is programmed on to the tape in the first place. Now I don't know if you are going to completely go old school and do it this way as I saw when you had all the show items laid out, I saw the rack with the two reel to reel recorders in it. I do know that there are more modern ways to program the show as I don't think that Aaron Fechter still runs his show using reel to reel decks. In fact, in later videos, I think he runs it from a laptop. I would assume that Audacity could be used. But yet, I think I would go even more modern than that using a more up to date, and all digital system. Another question I have is how much air is needed to run this show? Chris is using TWO full size (30 gallon or more) air compressors with 3 large storage tanks. It does look a bit overkill to me, but I guess his reasoning with so much air storage is that the air compressors run less and that would mean more running time and less noise. I doubt the typical Showbiz location would have invested in such an elaborate air storage system, but this had me curious as to what was needed to run the show initially. I know the typical Chuck E. Cheese location used a single 55 gallon two stage IR compressor. It is extremely noisy and they had it located in a separate room what had sound proofing.
No offense just because it's the only public show left in American doesn't mean it's the best show, far from it really. From going to rotting bots to working is impressive but other then that it's all it has going for
The amount of work you put into this project is phenomenal, excellent work can’t wait to see this complete
I'm excited to see the end of this project, it has easily been the most intriguing series I've watched
