    So Beautiful! I won a set of acrylic paints at a craft retreat, and I just purchased some canvases and brushes. I asked my hubby if he'd want to do a home version of a paint and sip if we could find a tutorial. I love this so much-if he doesn't want to do this one, I'll definitely be doing it myself! Thank you, Jasmine, you are an excellent teacher!

      That’s so exciting about your win and prize!! Congrats 👏🏼 Glad you’re also pumped to make art!! No matter which tutorial you choose to do you’ll do great- half the battle is a great attitude and energy and I can tell you have it! Enjoy the tutorial with your hubby, what a great date night idea 💡🙏❤️

The frame is beautiful, but contains an out or date print... and I decided I was going to paint my own painting. This technique has totally inspired me!!🤓 To match my decor, I'm going to try vertical color blocking in navy and terra cotta, then do the flowers in tones of cream (with green stems of course. I'm going to try it first on a piece of poster board to see if the piece actually looks like what I imagined in my head. Thank you so much for such a wonderful video! New subcriber!

    Should I let the first purple dry before applying the darker purple or work with it a bit wet? Thanks!

    • @feelingnifty
      @feelingnifty  Год назад +1

      Great question! I would wait until the first purple is mostly dried so that you still get the effect of multiple versions of purple in the final flower. Sometimes when paint is not dried enough both the purples can mix too much and you don’t get the same effect. Hope that helps and enjoy painting to! 💜🌸🙂

    thank you for this tutorial. is there a reason why you start with the mid tone?

    • @feelingnifty
      @feelingnifty  Год назад +1

      Hi Donna,
      Great question! I liked the look that’s the only reason really. I found the darkest color kind of got lost when keeping it in the background, so having it as the second color just gave a different look. But with that said you can most definitely start with the darkest and work your way up, that would look very nice also. Hope that helps!
      Cheers,
      Jasmine

    It's beautiful! Question, did you add darker purple dots in the final painting? It looks like you added something extra to the painting. :)

      Thank you ☺️ Yes, I had a purple paint marker and added some extra dots over the lavender after the video was done.The same can be done with some purple paint and a small round brush or detailing brush also.

    How did you get the final result? The last image almost looks like you dabbed black or a dark lavender color on the flowers?

    • @feelingnifty
      @feelingnifty  Месяц назад

      Good eye!! I have a habit of adding some extra detail once the the painting is done- hard for me to stop sometimes-lol. What I did here was: I took a dark purple paint pen and added tiny dots of dark purple sparingly over the lavender flowers. Hope that helps :)

    The salt won't melt or liquify?

    • @feelingnifty
      @feelingnifty  4 месяца назад +1

      Funny I thought the exact same thing before I tried this method!! If you’re using regular consistency acrylics they’ll be too thick to liquify the salt. A case where it might liquify is if you use a super thin (watercolor-like) paint consistency and very fine grain salt. Great question btw 🙌🏼

    What is the type of paper tablet called on which you place your pallet paint?

    • @feelingnifty
      @feelingnifty  Год назад

      Hi Barb, it’s called a palette paper pad, like this one www.amazon.com/Strathmore-365-9-Palette-Bound-Sheets/dp/B00CPD0O1U/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2NDPBRNNWG6YV&keywords=palette+paper+pad&qid=1690033430&sprefix=pallette+paper%2Caps%2C98&sr=8-3

    What is there to be done when salt start melting and the painting does not dry

    • @feelingnifty
      @feelingnifty  Год назад

      Hi Heather, I've never witnessed the salt melting personally, but maybe the paints are really thin and liquid perhaps? If so, you can try using heavier bodied acrylic paints (the ones in tubes should work). Also you can speed up drying with a hair dryer. Hope that helps!
