As a new player started in rise It’s my highest honor to cross blade with such legend, even if not the same as what I saw in videos, but it’s as heavenly as I imagine
Yeah dude this is my first time too. I love it when Shagaru and Gore goes enrage mode. It give me feeling like "Oh shit here they come," and they started blasting you with more projectile.
It’s the exact same with me! I started with World and Iceborne, but this is my first time facing of with both forms of the Eclipse Dragon. And it is DOWNRIGHT MYTHICAL!
When old monsters get a theme revamp, I love how it seems very intentionally created with the new region in mind. It shows how the monster themes are akin to cultural hymns of reverence and how each region's legends are a little bit different.
A monster and a hunter, each one tracking and hunting the other. One banished from the livings, to come back as a god of light and death,. One taking life from other living ones to protect the balance of this world. A story ends, another begins. 4U is no more, but the story rised again in Sunbreak.
I love both versions, but i think this theme in particular, no matter the version, sounds more epic mixed with all the crazy combat sounds of the fight, weird, but thats my opinion
Yeah Not seeing Magala fly up to the sky with his roar or having all sound be drowned out by a virus explosion kinda takes from the experience Watch out for the risen versions’ instant laser
didn't like it at first because I was so used to the old version, but it grew on me. After listening to it multiple times, that addition finally make sense.
meanwhile, maybe because Sunbreak was the first time I heard the theme or because I haven't given myself the time to listening a bunch, I have lots of issues even recognizing the new parts.
The only 2 things I find are missing to new shagaru are the random explosions through the area after his star roar and the fact they replaced his soft locking missile triad with a super delayed explosion projectile. Otherwise, he seems to be an absolutely awesome fight! And that theme is just fire, as always!
Shagaru's face looks so familiar, but I can't put my finger on it. It reminds me of a real world animal, but what? Part of me wants to say bearded dragon, but that might just be because of the color... Though it is hilarious to imagine a Shagaru head bobbing furiously to assert dominance.
Gore Magala and Shagaru Magala will always hold a special place in my heart. These were the first two Elder Dragons I fought in GenU/Double Cross and the first time I fought them were with my husband. So happy my baby Elder Dragon is in Sunbreak.
I do prefer the 4U one, maybe by nostalgia, but i do find the tone of the Sunbreak one a little bit less epic, and the fact that 4U Shagaru is the end boss (and the best we ever had) might also play in his favor imo
It's actually more an adaptation of his theme because he is not the final boss anymore. His theme in 4U had more nostalgic moments because it was the end of a long journey, the finale battle. In Sunbreak, he is just a powerful Elder Dragon, his theme has more moment when the melody keep rising where in 4U the tension fall again for a nostalgic part.
In 4U WE had a history with Shagaru. He was the Gore we had during the whole story and he knows who we are. Now its just another elder dragon. Still happy he's on the game but its not the same
@@Amoeba_Podre Well If you add dragonators in the mix. The top 3 is Narwa, Ahtal Ka and Gogmazios. But Shagaru IS one of the best out there. Not for mechanic but for story. As I said before, he knows us. He is waiting for us to arrive in his domaine to kick our ass. Unlike other elder dragons, he acknowledges us. We are a pain in his ass because we kicked him all the time as Gore. At the end of the story in 4U he is releasing more Fury on purpose to force us to come and fight. Thats why he is one of the best bosses in Monster hunter
The extra verses are more interjections than anything else. It's very possible that this is canonically the LAST recorded Shagaru Magala to exist (currently) based on the extra ecological materials cited in the wikis. There is a small sense of anxiety, tension, and/or finality in those extra verses that may hint what the nature of this particular version of the fight is.
It would make sense considering Shagara Magala has a violent history of making sure there’s fewer Shagara Magalas. To reduce competition. Question is, Are the Magala species endangered? Or still out there?
Considering the guild has declared the magalas as "Better Off Dead", I wouldn't be too surprised if they're endangered, and I doubt the guild is too concerned about it.
@@General_C im ngl i would be down for like a semi "sequel" game to 4u where like the magalas take on a new form with a more deadly virus that can actually threaten a few elder dragons. not to sure about this part yet but it would be interesting to see the newer virus is able to semi mind control monster making them more likely to ally with the magala. The cool twist to this though is that the monsters can actually break free from it! so imagine a cool concept where an infected monster goes apex and then when the magala turns up instead of say turf war it says "team up!" and scary cool animation happens when the monster gets mind controlled for a bit where it stops black mist appears and their eyes glow a bright red and gets a bit more stronger! then at some point the monster breaks free and locks into a turf war with the new magala!
The OG theme has parts that to me are better than the new one, but overall I prefer the new one because of the new parts, it adds more to the song, while the OG one feels better in some moments it starts getting way too repetitive at some point, while in the new one they added enough new parts to make it a lot less repetitive and make it at least for me better It's incredible how I started with 4U and after failing to understand how to play (I was really young) I left it for some time and after two years I remembered the game, I played with the hammer and eventually I reached the Shagaru fight, truly one of the most epic gaming moments for me because that's where my love for the saga started, after that it came 3U, gen, gen U, World and Iceborne, and now Rise and Sunbreak, even stories and stories 2 (in both of them more than 500 hours) what a ride has been, and I can't wait for what will come next!
I had a similar story when I started with 3U on wiiU and had so much trouble on it. I got walled against fucking Gobi, left the game for like two years, came back and struggled through with hammer, beat ceadus and thought the game was over (i never even tried online play, not knowing the hub was where the rest of the game was), then got generations (same thing there, beat shagaru and was done, never got to see any of the crazy hub exclusive shit), then world which i finally experienced all the content of up to kulve taroth (was burnt out when iceborne released sadly, never wound up going back to it.) then rise and now sunbreak. Love the series from what I have played, and its always interesting hearing the paths others took through it.
Tbh I don't like the new section they added, feels like it breaks the tension and epicness of that part of the theme, but overall the new theme it's an upgrade to the old one. Also a bit disappointed that his title isn't "Wheel of Heaven" but whatever ahah, Shaggy is looking gorgeous!
the original and worldversions of the themes of rise's returning monsters will always be better than the rise rearangements, the rise versions just feel like going through the motions with some interjections phoned in just to stand out, but in general they just sound bland and boring, thank god they just reused velkhana and amatsu's themes and didn't butcher them by remaking them

I didn’t start in rise nor world, but just late enough to not meet the frenzy god himself. Glad I got my ass beat by him in Sunbreak :)
Same, what a beast , love the figth

You the story has "risen" again.
Fucking beautiful
I like that in the rise theme, the little bit of clockwork guitar gives his theme this ancient terror vibe if you know what i mean
I love both versions, but i think this theme in particular, no matter the version, sounds more epic mixed with all the crazy combat sounds of the fight, weird, but thats my opinion
Yeah, hearing it without the virus clouds explosions and his roar feels strange
Yeah

A lot of people seem to not like the new parts added to the song, I on the other other hand, really like it
While the 4U version sounds more epic, the Sunbreak version sounds more heroic.
didn't like it at first because I was so used to the old version, but it grew on me. After listening to it multiple times, that addition finally make sense.
@@KaineReiN For a new player, it acts as a short place to breathe before continuing fight
Personally, i like the new part, but i feel like it shouldn't be there, maybe more, earlier or later, but not at that moment
meanwhile, maybe because Sunbreak was the first time I heard the theme or because I haven't given myself the time to listening a bunch, I have lots of issues even recognizing the new parts.

Although I count gore, gore magala isn’t technically a elder for some reason
One of my favorite elders for good reason, up there with Nergigante and Dalamadur

The new ver sounds like something from FF7R but i still like it nvrtheless
Why does the opening section remind me of the Pain theme from Naruto?
I reckon they were made in the same era
I think sunbreak improved shagaru, because now he feels less like just gore and more in my opinion
I think the 4 version is better on the whole, sunbreak’s has its parts that are better but the whole thing is just missing something
As someone who started with 4U, i actually prefer the new one... Except the new part they added
