To those of us who have never been there, this video is truly stunning.
I can't imagine the nervous hours when the fire hit, but I'm glad the firemen got it under control fast.

I lived in Calabasas and Chatsworth in the 70s. I cried when we moved. But the way Calabasas looks now, I would NEVER move back in a million years. It's overpopulated with celebrities and its more a massive city! Not a place where a kid can be a kid anymore!! My old house has even gotten all fancy. I couldn't afford to live in it if I WANTED to! I'm glad we left California. The best decision my dad ever made!!!
I do however pray for the people that were affected by the fires and for the safety of all others. My brother and his wife still live in Ventura. I'm also praying for their safety! I love it here in Kansas!❤ Very quiet and peaceful country

You should've stayed. Those $100,000 homes in the 70's are upwards of $3 to $50 million. I lived in Hidden Hills in the 80s to 2000, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before anyone ever knew there was Hidden Hills. Literally was hidden. FF, Kardashian after infamous OJ Simpson incident, shit has turned into what YOU just explained. Nevertheless, other than being burning hot without humidity during summer, still better than most parts of Greater LA cities. Just stay away from hillside. It's gonna be the new norm and those flatland home values and demand will SKYROCKET.

@JohnnySin-cp7fz yep! I looked at it on Zillow when it was up for sale and I was blown away! It doesn't even look the same! They did a bunch of remodeling and it looks like Hawaii in tbe backyard! Lol! We had an omlypic size swimming pool which is still there but it's surrounded by a fancy dancy tropical outfit. Lol! We were what you considered poor back then. And our house had nothing fancy except the pool! Lol!

I want to make it clear that I’m not American, and I don’t live in Los Angeles. However, in the way I think and feel, I sometimes believe that in a past life, I must have come from this amazing city. I love Los Angeles, and every time I visit, it truly feels like home to me.
I’m deeply saddened by the massive wildfire currently devastating the area. My heart goes out to all the people affected by this tragedy.
Thank you once again for this beautiful video, which perfectly showcases the incredible beauty of this city. 🌟

It’s hard to explain California to people but it’s definitely not what it used to be. I grew up in San Diego and I often long to see it again as it was in the late 70s, also hard to explain.
I blame timeshares and foreign investors they just sucked the life out of most neighborhoods. Don’t get me started on traffic and texting while driving 🙄❤️

It is a symbolic symbol of Los Angeles California. It is recognized throughout the United States and the world. As in any state or city things change with the growing modern times. It is interesting. As an Australian, I notice they have quite a few of the Aussie Eucalypt trees planted. Apparently they have not heard about the bushfires we have in Australia. It is an explosive tree and needs to be removed and replaced with more beautiful trees like oaks or elms. These trees do not explode into fire.

I cannot get my simple minded brain to comprehend this nightmare, and I live over 2000 miles away. I have visited LA several times and really could never get enough of the natural beauty from the mountains to the ocean. Riding the Amtrak from Los Angeles to San Diego was a dream trip for me. It is all gone now and will take a bout 100 years for the nature to come back. Why would anyone want to rebuild their home after this? My prayers to everyone as it will be a lifetime of struggle for anyone choosing to stay, says me. I pray for peace and comfort and the phycological trauma hasn't even begun to take hold at this early stage and I pray people will not harm themselves over time.

I really hope this iconic sign is saved and I hope that hollywood finally comes to realize that God is in control and hollywood needs to admit this. This fire in L.A. could have been prevented and should have never happened if the people in charge and the Governor would have done his job properly. The devastation wouldn't be as bad as it is know. California needs better leadership and better people running the show. I give credit to all the first responders for there bravery in helping people and getting these fires undercontrol to best of there abilities. God bless everyone in L.A. and the counties surrounding the city. California is still a beautiful state and still be after this has past. To those who have lost so much my heart goes out to all of. I pray God will give you peace and comfort your hurting hearts as you go threw this time of hurt and being unsure. But remember you can always rebuild and make it better. I know my words won't mean much but lean on God for his help and his love for each and every one of you. God bless you all.

    • @trevorphillips9576
      @trevorphillips9576 13 дней назад +4

Umm no. Hollywood is called Hollywood because the name was chosen by Daeida Wilcox, who was developing the land in the area, and she liked the sound of the name "Hollywood" after hearing about an estate with the same name in Illinois; the name is a combination of "holly" and "wood," which could also be interpreted as referring to the holly-like toyon shrubs that grew in the area, although this is not the primary reason for the name choice. A devout Christian, Daeida reportedly overheard the word Hollywood on a train and thought that it was a perfect name for the Wilcoxes' envisioned utopia.

Any idea what/where the mansion with the long front lawn and beautiful gardens is at around the 7:00 mark?

1:06 Is that Kamala's house in the lower center of frame? It has a stone chimney on the left side, and a cone-shaped roof spire section in the middle.

Nobody walks the streets of the hills. There is nowhere to go. No stores, gas stations, no park. Only private homes. Nothing to do in the hills except to visit friends or PARTY!

The houses nestling in the hills are expensive and beautiful but I'm also a fan of rolling hills without houses. The Hollywood sign was cleverly done and truly iconic in its day. Unfortunately, Hollywood has become associated with the very depths of depravity. Also, the wood of the holly tree (holly wood) was used for making witches wands. The area has links with witchcraft and evil practices.

For what the video was I enjoyed it!To see that area from a drones perspective was pretty cool, and surreal at the same time, the beauty of California is all I have to say about that state!Everything else is a waste!

It’s made of a certain type of metal, called corrugated metal, which also is the reason on why it has ridges on the letters.

Yet the fire department has said "no drones" as it is causing them problems. So realistically you are causing them problems and slowing down there efforts. Well done, so glad you got to fly your little toy

This is some great views brother man. I seen that sign for the first time in life in 1994. My parents took me and my brothers to Cali every year up until 2009-10. I still go when I can. Fires are devastating. Work together. Not against each other. ❤

And everybody knows that you're in trouble
Everybody knows what you've been through
From the bloody cross on top of Calvary
    To the beach of Malibu
    Everybody knows it's coming apart
Take one last look at this Sacred Heart
    Before it blows
