It's a canon event of the series, or should I say a joke that started the epicness of the series.
Antagonists that were jokes are becoming more serious. Can't wait to see what happens to the Eyes of the universe then 💀
I like how Father Gregor is a seriously dedicated, disciplined and holy priest but yet cannot resist the power of the spooky month dance
because the spooky month dance is just THAT powerful. you literally cannot resist it.
It's the most powerful weapon on that universe
Take in mind it worked on a serial murderer, a demon, and even EYES the Eldritch Being

Remeber that first episode when the Eldridge horror at the end was tamed with spooky dance? Tyt shows how powerful it is
@@Angelikaliu1331 I mean, take it from this perspective..
You're a priest that realized the two boys you originally dismissed need some genuine guidance. You find out that they are also supporting a literal demon. Their parents? drinking. Realizing this, while also being exhausted from the work you had to do today, would make someone really cranky

@@amelinnorthwind I don't think it was hot water, it was holy water. I think it was a joke about the kid being ginger and having no soul
I love how spooky month has just become an episodic series of fixing everything that happened in the first video
And second episode
Honestly, I felt kinda bad for the Priest after he got that reaction from the kids when he exorcised Molluk back to hell, because they didn’t understand the danger of what Molluk was doing to everyone including themselves and genuinely thought he was their friend. And the Priest didn’t even take their anger personal, he just limped back to his church without even looking for thanks, despite his injuries. He was honestly a great character for real throughout the entire episode. I also like how this episode gave the boys actual character substance with relatable issues such as complicated parent and child dynamics. All in all this episode was a solid 10/10 in my book.
I hope he's reoccurring, he's so badass.
So sad he prolly got killed by the Eldritch altho I'm so hyped the actually brought him back I was waiting for Pelo to finally bring him since he hasn't been here since episode 2

I like how this show continues showing that Pump and Skid aren't terrible children. They need to be more trusting and a bit overzealous. They want to have fun like any kid does. They're also not stupid; they notice things. They feel like burdens to their parents, which is something a lot of kids feel.
They were never terrible tho

And i think he even killed dexters mother in this episode
TBF he didn't really do anything but have fun with the kids before being left halfway stuck in a Ouija board for a couple of years in the attic and was unintentionally killed by the kids when he possessed the exterminator to get payback on them for being abandoned.
I love Gregor's character depth- all throughout he is both an all-too-serious and judgy old man who is heavy-handed and too strict with the children, but when it comes down to it he very much genuinely cares about them and all his fellow man and is willing to risk his life and tank demon bites to protect the town and do his job. And we see at the end that he gets next to no appreciation for genuinely good advice to Lila. He's not a one-note character you can write off as all good or all bad, but the summation of all his best and worst traits is ultimately that he cares for others and is serious about his faith. Hope to see him resist Eyes's influence later and await rescue
He sounds like the kind of pastor/priest I'd want, not the one I have. He's a bit.. "How do you do fellow kids?" kinda way, which isn't the best when you wanna ask them for advice, because you perceive them to be not as wise (I hope this makes sense)
@@synsvidsThis character is actually one of the best depictions in media i ever daw of how the ideal priest should act according to Christianity. Rigid when needed, soft when possible, faithfull to the teachings but forgiving for the sins of others... man, if only i found more people like him to teach me literally how to live...
No seriously Gregor's a great character and an interesting foil to Skid and Pump. Skid and Pump are friendly but easily manipulated to a dangerous degree, while Gregor's extremely strict, but resilient in his faith for the good of everyone. He's honestly the hero this town needs.
Sr. Pelo basically showed us what an actual priest is. It's as simple as that and I love it
When do we get to see Robert’s little sister?
This was a rather depressing episode… For whatever reason, Skid and Pump crying over the death of Moloch, never realizing that Moloch was never their friend or how dangerous the demon was, really hit me hard. Not to mention ending the episode with the implication that Pump’s parents seemingly don’t care about their children, and Lila feeling like an inadequate parent, yeesh, feels bad man…. Fun Fact: Moloch is a real demonic entity from old Jewish folklore. People used to sacrifice their firstborn children to him by igniting the interior of Moloch's statue/furnace and burning them inside of it. It became such a problem that according to the Bible it came to a point where they had to make a law to stone anyone they found doing this. The fact that Moloch in this animation is a furnace demon is as accurate as it is scary. Happy Spooky Month Everybody :)

So refreshing to see a priest character actually not be portrayed as a creep, I understand its a prevalent issue but I'm glad I started rooting for him.
He genuinely is a good guy and gives skid's mom good critique, her negligence did lead to the boys summoning a demon
Yep. I was rooting for him as well.
Real
Yeah, that scenes where he was fighting the demons were so badass, but also glad he kinda called out Lila’s behavior because negligence leads to consequences.
I'm pretty sure he was originally a creep but was retconned
This series is absolutely amazing, it's a perfection, i'd say! It all started as a joke, but outcame into something really deep and emotional. I like how it showed the "good" characters' bad characteristics (like Lila) and the "bad" characters good characteristics (like Frank or Roy). And also its really cool storyline about the kids-parents relationships. Skid's mom is not a bad mom, she just prefers not to solve her problems and cover her anxiety and sadness with alcohol, and that Pump feels lonely without the help and guidance from his parents, they both feel like they're a bargain for their parents, and actually most children in these kind of situations think about it in this way, like they are the trouble. I really am into this fandom for almost 1,5 year, and I really am obsessed with this show. Pelo, I'd like to say it: you're the best youtuber, animator and voice actor!!!

This one really made me realize the severity of Skid and Pumps actions. While before everything happening felt like “What wacky scenario will they get into next” but now we’re seeing the harm they’re really causing
They kinda doomed the town in the first 2 episodes
Granted, I feel like in some cases the cult is more so to blame for the effects of their actions being quite as extreme as they are, like while Dexter may have still died, I'm pretty sure there's some things implying it was the cult's work that led to his soul being trapped in the Happy Fella after
@@DreamerOfTheSouthin the second ep they didn’t really doom the town because the cultists were always there
@@mariotuber2866 didn’t want to make the original comment too long but I was mostly referring to them summoning Moloch. That caused some characters to die or get harmed, and it’s even worse knowing now that Dexter could have lived from the possession but they told Moloch to turn their head around which snapped his neck. If Father Gregor didn’t exercise them when Skid and Pump voluntarily got possessed, that likely would’ve been it for them. Besides Moloch though, the most they’ve done is just mischief (not counting them causing the death of Roy’s Uncle cause I consider that a good thing). As for Dexter’s Soul I thought that maybe his soul got lost somehow due to Moloch being in his body when they died, not really sure how that whole possession thing works. If it was the Cults doing then that will slide, if it had something to do with Moloch then that’s another thing to pin on Skid and Pump
As I went back to watch this episode, I kept looping that very last scene with Skid and his mom. With how well they really got across the message of Skid and Lila's relationship. A (somewhat newly) widowed woman and her kid who's father died. And how skid is a confused little kid who see's his mother struggle and try to take care of her kid alone for the first time, and he recognizes her stress and grief, and tries to be less of a burden to her. This episode especially really shows how he just wants to be better for his mom since his dad's passing, and seeing her just break down as her kid tries to fix a situation that he hasn't truly grasped because of how young he is, is really heartbreaking. And I honestly identify with it a little myself. Also seeing in the background of that final scene shows how even though the house is more cluddered and messy than ever really shown, it feels far more lifeless and empty than when it was clean. The lighting and how the cludder was organized in the backdrop really expresses that well. With the family pictures dangling from their hangers and desks pushed over. I honestly dont know how you guys did it so well. I probably repeated alot of things, and i know i didnt get my thoughts across well, but bear with me. Most beautiful episode by far.

@@Arandomdude48217 he means gregor
While Father Gregor was rough in his approach, you could really tell he genuinely wanted to help and protect the kids, even if Skid and Pump took the message he was trying to give the wrong way a bit, partially his own fault for being so blunt and unmoving.
He doesn't have the social grace, the demeanor, or tact to talk to kids about this sort of thing in a way that really communicates what he wants to impart. He didn't even realize his guidence was a little too straightforward for ones as well meaning and innocent as Skid and Pump to get fully. Being kids, they thought they needed to be forgiven, else they wouldn't be loved by their parents or that bad things would happen, when all Father Gregor wanted was for them to behave so they wouldn't get hurt or worry their parents. He wanted them to apologize, and move on (words like "forgiveness" are really easy for a kid to latch onto and worry about). Father Gregor knows how sacred the bond between a parent and their child is and cares about it deeply himself and for them, and that's why he, albeit far too rigidly, stayed by their side to try and encourage them to be kinder and to help them build a better understanding of the world. While his approach may not be what works best for Skid and Pump, it was a lesson the kids had to learn eventually.
Also, Lila 100% needed to hear that, and Father Gregor was probably the only one willing to say it so upfront.
I really like Father Gregor and hope to see him again.

🤍🧡💛🖤💀🎃
I really love how badass Father Gregor is. He really tried to get Skid and Pump to Not Be a Danger to Society for an episode, and make them apologise to the people they already bothered. I mean like, the guy saw a person, literally possessed by a freaking demon. Didn't panic, layed out the priorities - first get the children out of there. He even made sure that the kiddos would be safe with the police officers while he is gone. After that without any hesitation the man went right back in to the demon and started fighting it, not letting it speak nor do anything while he gets it out of the girl's body. Because the two dummies came back he really made sure to protect them, so they don't get hurt and the demon doesn't get to them. After Moloch literally broke through a wall and escaped, the guy with the same nonchalance went out Chasing him around town with no regard for his own safety, only for the safety of people around him. He was able to stay calm even when the demon babies bit him Multiple times in the leg, and made sure to get the demon out of them. And after all that, with a wounded leg he still chased Moloch into the attic and banished it from this world. He's like literally The most heroic person in the entire show.
Also I believe Father Gregor is relatively new in town which is why most of the residents don't recognize him. The town probably needed someone like Father Gregor in town, which is probably why the cult took him out. The mayor probably hired the two hobos to destroy the church after kidnapping Gregor. To also really add to what you said, Father Gregor after getting rid of Moloch didn't stick around to get praise, he went straight back to the church to heal himself up. As he probably figured his work in town was just starting.
Yeah, the guy was cool it is so sad that he looked into that thing’s eyes, so he is linda lista now

Well yeah but then he accused Lila of being a bad mom for drinking when it seems the reason she was so stressed to need a drink was the paranoia she gained after the events of tender treats I mean she did install an alarm after that and sure it’s not like father gregor knew of bob velseb or the other times skid and pump were in danger but still he was such a dick towards Lila without knowing the full story
It's a good detail that Lila was all drunken sounding towards Father Gregor but quickly became genuine once she noticed Skid. Makes us know the surprise and urgancy.
bro why was I tearing up at the end. these characters were my childhood and watching it back was crazy.
I definitely like how the whole “Lila is negligent” plot is written. Whenever she’s stressed or Skid asks something serious, she distracts him with inviting him to see Pump. She lets him leave for the day without asking questions, and this happens. She is the reason Moloch, Eyes, and the Happy Fella were released.
that is a good point. I never really thought about Lilas role in the events of the series
And you can kinda sympathize with her because she's a single mom raising a hyperactive child. At least Skid has Pump to hang out with.
I was kinda the same when I was little. I'm autistic and most likely have ADHD, so my mom had a hell of a time raising me, and I think I got a kind of avoidance relationship with her
The kids were going to meet Eyes at one point or another
Meh, 50/50.
I really love how this series really gets into the ways a child would think. Kids aren't that scared of monsters, but they are terrified of their parents not loving them...
Edit: Apparently I was an outlier thinking monsters were cool as opposed to scary when I was a kid...
Im not sure about that scared of monsters part
That first one isn't really true, Skid and Pump are just kinda oblivious.
Oh no, many children are afraid of monsters.
Guys, i think that Skid and Pump SPECIFICALLY aren’t scared of monsters.
Although most kids are scared of monster, so i agree.

This episode was insane- the fact that they were nice to an Eldritch god once and now they're under it's divine protection is just so indescribable ?? 😭
I think it implies that the eldritch god is divine? the end card shows the priest flying upwards where the eldritch god is while still holding onto his cross. also he kneeled down in awe infront of it. very interesting honestly.

@@jessesobel7448 its more so implied, especially with pumps blue eyes being a badge of sorts for it, he can see things other people cant, combine that with the odd amount of conveniences that usualy keep them out of harms way after there encounter with eyes, its certainly something to think about, but definitely not proven completely yet

The burglars must be REALLY DEAD-SET on successfully breaking into Skid's house
As much as I like Lila, on this occasion the priest was absolutely right.
the priest ded bro theirs no saving the town now.
It wasn't just this occasion.
In episode 2, her first reaction to seeing them after a home invasion in the middle of the night was "Hey kids, where ya been?"
In episode 3, she sent Skid to play with Pump when she was too busy trying to call an exterminator for the "rat" she could've dealt with herself.
In episode 5, she let the kids go trick-or-treating completely unsupervised.
And of course, in just about every episode, she has no issues with the two going out alone by themselves at night.
@@binkyboy448 as much as i don't want to admit it, you are very right.
Gotta love how we see both perspectives here. She just wanted to relax this time cause her life has been really stress inducing. Murderers, weirdos, burglars, living dolls lusting for blood... ALL of that. And this time she returns home only to be met with her kid (and Pump) crying and some random priest scolding her for being an irresponsible mother.
That's a huge punch in the gut.
I think father Gregor only assumed certain things (like her drinking regularly which we know isn't the truth).

I really appreciate how most of the characters in this series are just trying to do their best. Father Gregor wasn’t really a _great_ influence on the kids, but he saw that they were in pain and tried to help them in his own flawed way. Lila isn’t a great mother, but she’s going through a lot and really does care about her kid and _wants_ to be a better mom.
He wasnt a "great" influence to them? Bro wdym lol he literally was teaching them the dangers of wandering off at night in a not so safe Town while also protecting them FROM DEMONS and trying to make them a BETTER person. I think You are kinda biased about the priest just cause he is religious lol he did way more good things for the kids than lila.
@@tuperro2402 I mean, he fully played into the idea that the reason their parents weren't spending time with them was because they weren't "good" enough for those parents. That's basically the entire conversation they had with the two cops. I'm not necessarily saying he did that intentionally, but he still did it and intentions matter less than consequences. That's why I said he tried to help them in his own flawed way, trying to help doesn't mean succeeding but trying is still commendable. I've got nothing against him for being religious, I personally think people like to scapegoat religions throughout the world for things that are caused by materialistic greed.
@@archsteel7playing into the idea would require him to constantly use it to make them strive for forgiveness. The main point of the trip was to let them into the church, which Pump told the cops. The part that stuck with Skid in that whole conversation tho was the part about his parents, but that doesn’t mean that was the focal point Father Gregory WANTED them to take away from it.

Same. Lila is definitely flawed, but it's clear that she geniuenely cares about her son and tries to make life as normal as can be in the little hell hole that they live in for him. It really hurts a bit as the viewer too cuz we know that Lila isn't a regular drinker and we've seen all her effort.
Dude Father Gregor is a badass. I'm so happy you wrote him to be strict and orderly, but not to the point where he becomes a comical asshole. Making him brave and resourceful is something we don't get to see from a lot of religious figures in fiction these days. I'm an agnostic athiest myself, so I don't neccesarily have a horse in this race, but it's just really refreshing to see a fictional priest who isn't comically evil or a total coward.
Alternatively with comedy related or dark medias priests are always reserved or presented as constant child predators or some similar shit.
I'm really glad there's not a single joke about it but instead a single acknowledged concern for kids about priest following them and that's it.
He's literally honest to god priest who actually knows his stuff and actually competent to take on demons despite age with cross and holy water alone and no additional bullshit like a gun.
Kinda reminds me of Faith the Unholy trinity with similar concept of priest taking on demons with cross alone.
i was looking for this comment. i’m a christian, and im so happy he was depicted like this.
Couldn't agree more. As a Muslim myself, it's really cool to see a pastor who's trying to do good for his community. The fact that he's willing to put himself in danger just to keep two stupid kids (no hate to them) is just so cool and refreshing to see. It's really tiring when a pastor is portrayed as a predator or a cult leader. I mean, I get that it's a real problem but not every pastor is like that and I'm glad that Pelo went with this. Hopefully he'll be able to free himself from that demon (forgot the name)

The ending genuinely made me cry. Hearing the emotional reactions of Skid, Pump, Lila, and Susie was so depressing, I must’ve watched this ending line 6 times to hear the beautiful and emotional performances. I love how even when there were jokes, this episode went on a different approach and gave us the more serious take. The Christianity plot is perfect and Father Gregor might be my 2nd favorite character, first being Lila. I absolutely loved it. Phenomenal job to the actors, the animators, the composers, and to Pelo himself. You all have now made my favorite episode of Spooky Month. Plus having Zach Hadle as a cameo and naming him “Literally Zach” is the cherry on top.
Didn't actually expect a spooky month episode to make me cry but here we are
REAL
It made me tear up a little at the end
Yeah, this ep was just…Tear-jerking, Bawling, Tragic, just Dark, just wow.
So this episode’s sub theme was definitely parental neglect on both Skid and Pump’s end and as much as I like Lila, I think she needed to hear that from Father Gregor and hopefully she’s gonna prioritize Skid more.
But one thing that I don’t see anyone talking about is how they handled the more “controversial” side of the church and it’s morals. It is refreshing that the priest wasn’t a creep but I’m glad that the episode didn’t shy away from still criticizing how Christianity handles “forgiveness”, how not everyone is going to forgive you, how the mentality that “you should always apologize even when you were the one hurt” can be a harmful mentality to have.
And then there’s the whole mentality that you have to be “good” for your parents to love you. Despite the priest having good intentions, he put it into Skid and Pump’s minds that the way they are now would cause their parents to not love them when it reality, they are (or should be) loved as they are.
And then there’s the whole commentary on priests taking in children and (kinda indoctrinating) them at a young age. I can’t blame some of the towns folk for being skeptical about Father Gregor following Skid and Pump cus….it looks weird lol.
And of course then there’s the SLIGHT demonization of Halloween with that comment on Skid and Pump’s costumes.
So overall, while not a completely terrible person, Father Gregor does still has flaws but I think that makes him a really solid character.
I'm just glad Sr Pelo didn't make the priest the uptight, overly-religious guy that's a common Christian stereotype but that like everyone, we got good things about us just yeah we have flaws
Sure, as a real Christian
We shouldn't be judgmental which I admit he was a little bit but at least he trys to lend a caring hand in the right direction if I got that right. I feel like something about Jesus might fit in the well but I'm still growing as a child of a God
And anyone who is a spiritual Christian who's a bit experienced, feel free to talk to me but still
Happy Easter! He is risen!
I’m going to admit, i really enjoyed the priest’s character. They did a really good job in writing his character
Good to see how they're handling the complexity of Father Gregor.
I personally think flawed characters are indefinitely more interesting than ones without any major flaws.
Father Gregor was raised in a different environment and comes from an older different generation of people, so his view on the world is going to differ heavily from others. He's got strengths in some areas and flaws in others, which makes him feel very believable!
My grandfather was a Catholic Bishop before he passed and it was always interesting hearing how he viewed the world.
While obviously not a 1:1 Father Gregor still reminds me of him at times, especially when he tried to give advice for Skid and Pump at the start.

@@susancubello1340 I think she cried less because of she was drunk, more of how she saw how Skid was being effected by her acting like this, and she felt shame because she couldn't stay strong for her child, and now he was blaming himself because of that

Skid's dad is dead. Because the word widow was used on Lila. And it's heavily implied that the dad is dead.
