Yep I lived without a cell phone for years too. But, there was a Public Phone booth near every grocery store or gas station, I used to keep a dime or a quarter, when rates went up, taped to my hair brush handle for an emergency call.
Hi Dave, I love your channel so much! I myself have ADD and I found that taking pics of items and then doing research to find price point and creating a sell similar draft is very helpful. What I do is I make the draft and only input the pictures, my COG, and the price I want to sell it at plus shipping. Then when I have more energy I go and fix the title and item specifics. This really helps me a lot, and it's especially nice if I'm waiting in line or doing something where I can quickly fix 1-2 listings while waiting. I hope this helps!
I actually started doing this recently, and it's super helpful! Helps me list every day and makes listing super fast! The other day, I put some listings up while on my 15-minute break at work and then just went about my day :)
Dave, you should set up business policies...that way things like handling time and returns is set across all your listings automatically and if you ever want to change the setting across all the listings you just edit the policy. I have one policy with handling/returns and then 4 or 5 shipping policies (Free Ground), Buyer pays Ground/Priority etc it makes life easier
It happened all over Dave. I was trying to pay a bill online and they use the same internet that you do. I couldn't pay the bill, so i finally called and was on hold for 30 minutes for them to tell me it should be fixed today at the latest. Would have been nice had they posted something on their website. Couldn't you vacuum seal that plush and put it in a smaller box?
This month, I set a momentum board up with listing at least 5 things a day. I am finding that it keeps me on track with the listing because I don't want to see the 0 on it. I feel like you were more focused when you had your other job. I think you would definitely benefit from setting up a daily schedule for yourself
Att had an issue in TX that affected quite a few cellular users they did get resolved as quickly as possible it was Good morning America. Ours in NE was fine. Guess it pays to keep the old landline lol😂
Actually its not that easy to break glass. Double boxing should have worked but it sounds like you did pack too many heavy items of differing sizes in one box. Part of what causes breakage of bowls and plates while shipping is the pieces clanging against each other. To avoid that i cushion between items, fill voids in items and use plastic stretch wrap to snuggly hold multiple items together. Even so, breakage sometimes occurs, like in your case. Its how you respond to the customer that is the most important. Will you be able to get some kind of reimbursement from ups?
I lost my top rated as well, but Im never late shipping. What I found out is, its not when we scan in packages at post office, ITS THE NEXT SCAN, which imo, is COMPLETE HORSE 💩
The toaster...I believe that is the one when you drop a slice of bread in, it will automatically lower the bread into the toaster and when finished it will raise the toast...check them out, these sell well
I did and switched providers yesterday. It was more of the attitude i got from the people. Before you hate, even when under stress, customer service is customer service and i approached kindly.
Solar flare came near one of the satellites that half the world's phone companies were using... You must have been one in the 100K that lost service due to it...
I can totally sympathize your plea of trying to get your Top Rated status back. I just lost mine because of a STUPID mistake on my part. Apparently in the 2 years of selling I never learned that when you combine orders and send partial refunds back to customers, you not only have to mark as shipped, you also have to upload the one tracking number of the combined order on to each separate order. How did I not know this? I was on the phone two different times in the past month frantically trying to get my mistake rectified but was told they unfortunately couldn't help me as it was a automated thing! I had one customer buy from me two weeks apart a total of 20 items. So I had 18 items with tracking number uploaded and validated late! I am literally 0.69% (Tee Hee) from the 95% needed to be top rated! AUGH!!!!!!!!! If I would of have a few more sales the last 30 days I would of been okay, but alas it was January/February and sales were okay but not great. So lesson learned the freakin hard way! 🤦♀💞🐿
It depends how the buyer buys multiple items. If they put the items in their cart you do not have to update tracking for each item. If the buyer buys one item pays and then buys another and pays then you definitely have to manually update tracking for one of the items. Just have to cut and paste the tracking number.
@WellnessWizdom I do but not in bulk. My ADHD brain can only pack one order at a time. I have automated pickups daily and a awesome mail carrier so I'm not worried about it getting scanned. From now on I'd I have multiple orders I will do bulk shipping for the same buyer so it automatically puts the tracking in all items purchased.
You are such a smart guy but come across dumb and helpless sometimes. Learn how the metrics work. If you sit with Kevin and learn it you will know exactly when you can get back to top rated seller again.
One of your biggest problems is that you are very laxed in follow through...and you seem to throw in the towel before you have even tried. Talk to eBay about the shipping, at this point what do you have to lose?? By not pursuing it with ebay, you will continue to get negative feedback which will lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy of getting nothing but negative feedback and never being on top with positive feedback. Don't let a nine-year-old do the work that you should be doing, just because you don't really like doing the listings. If listing is your biggest issue, then hire an adult, part-time, and have them do the stuff that you don't want to do! But don't put it off on a 9-year-old! Remember, you are working for yourself, and you have the power to affect almost everything that you do. By not following through, by not being proactive in getting work done that you really don't want to do, you're killing your resale business all by yourself.
My thoughts exactly he blamed the kids for problems but he is the problem with hiring children . I am not trying to be mean when I say that . Kids can be lazy when they get bored with a task.
If you hire help to list, they should be handed a clear set of items to list, that way the only possibility of them listing something already sold is because you didn't pull it. This is your business, you need to steer the ship.
Maybe your daughter could earn money helping you in a different way. A nine year old shouldn't be doing any cross-listing. That's just going to cause you to have extra work or cancelled orders.
Look back and remember how you were running your business when you first became TopRated. What is different now? More people helping? More time away from the business? Less of a schedule? Just brainstorming for you.😊

Dave, long time watcher here. Not sure if you changed something but the amount of ads that I'm seeing is making the videos almost unbearable to watch. I understand you need some ads, as this is how you are paid for your time and effort, but it is breaking up your content so much that you are going to start losing watchers...
I'm a pyrex/corelle/vintage dish collector and seller, and the way you packed it sounds fine. As long as you can't hear stuff rattling around double boxing with bubble wrap and padding should be sufficient. I'd be thrilled if a seller took the time to double box my dishes.
In California we blame our governor for everything, so as far as your cell outage blame Desantois. And yes your ad's were off the chart and they for most part weren't the short ones that you are allowed to skip after 6 seconds but the longer ones at 40 seconds. And perhaps your shipping is now higher for golf clubs since your no longer top rated and dropped into higher shipping rate's... still a discount but still higher then you have been paying.
YES! there is a ginormous mental block to listing! Not so much with sourcing. You'd think listing would give us a high cause we are getting something done so it can Sell, but nooo. If you can figure it out for us you'll be rich. Maybe you need to start a body doubling listing therapy channel to add to your other channels. Serious, body doubling is a thing for adhd'rs, cleaning, hoarders etc.

Take the loss but keep them happy. If you can get the plate Ide do that. I've had to do that when I couldn't find something or sold it but the listing went back up and sold before I figured it out. I have the same issue listing. It’s getting that first listing that I have to drag myself to do. Then I’m good to list a few more. These people that list 20 a day is nuts! 🤷♀️
Why? If you list that many items daily, you get in the routine of doing it and it is nothing to accomplish. For me, I pull my 10-15 items in the afternoon, that I am going to list the next day when I pull my shipping and package. First thing in the morning, I take all my pictures and list the items, I have done it other ways but I find that this is what works for me the best.

Stop doing free shipping on the golf clubs. Everyone else charges shipping for them. They still sell well

I've had a couple of negative which clearly are shipping g issues and eBay refuses to remove now.
I assume you got rid of the one day shipping policy so only the three is there. Reach out to them the worst thing that can happen is they say no.
The ads on this video were just outrageous. Couldn't go more than 2 mins without seeing an add. Hopefully this isn't permanent.

For me, I pull my 10-15 items in the afternoon, that I am going to list the next day when I pull my shipping and package. First thing in the morning, I take all my pictures and list the items, I have done it other ways but I find that this is what works for me the best.
Curious if your son went to Word of Life camp in Schroon Lake. I have been there many times. Great experience
yes, he went for snow camp, that is where Dave and Tina went to college, but in Fl, we are all going to the pines this summer for a week
Oh my goodness this is where we took our family vacations every summer, I hope you love it. of course we haven't been there for many years because we moved to South Carolina. I have always wanted to go back.@@ced56
